I ran into Concretebob at the Code Red rally yesterday and he pointed me to the VFP’s theater in DC yesterday. Anemic doesn’t begin to describe what was going on at their little theater yesterday;
The display, of course is supposed to be markers of every soldier killed in Iraq. Some of the markers have actual names of the fallen, but most of them look like this;
Most of the people who visited the display, were on their way to the Capitol Code Red rally, so the doofuses had an audience thanks to Jon Voight and Michelle Bachman. You have to wonder why VFP doesn’t support war with Iran – you know, the guys who’ve promised to erase Israel from the face of the earth, denied there was a holocaust, and are all for hastening the arrival of the twelfth imam;
I’d heard from Concretebob that Cindy Sheehan was there along with IVAW and VVAw, but when I got there, all I saw was this ten-year-old girl and a few hippies;
I guess it’s because when I was at the display, there were no TV cameras.
Well, if you take a look at all three of the posts I’ve written about the events in DC yesterday, you decide which was more attended at their advertised start time. I’m not making any estimates of any of the crowds – you decide from the pictures.

It’s like the MSM isn’t even trying to hide their bullshit anymore.
I’ve been wondering what the acronym MSM is supposed to stand for in this context. You’re obviously not talking about a Meritorious Service Medal, nor are you talking about the supplement MSM, methysulfonylmethane, that helps arthritis. So what does it stand for? (Not meaning to be dumb or anything, but, well, you know me…a little culturally illiterate..)
Main Stream Media, or Lame Stream Media, or Dead Tree Media, or Democrat National Media. Take your pick, Debra.
I have to agree in that War with Iran is a bad idea right now just as I think that it was a bad idea to attack Iraq in 2003. It is going to make a costly diversion considering what is going on in Afghanistan.

Thank you for the clarification, UpNorth. I’m not sure I agree the media is all that left-wing, though. While perhaps they are reporting exaggerated numbers in this instance, in the past, they very often far-under-reported the numbers of events that I attended. I can remember one time early on, several years ago, where there were several thousand protesters and maybe a couple dozen anti-protesters (if that many), but the local paper of that city gave practically equal time to interviews from both sides.
Re. my question on MSM, I guess I remember now that MSM refers to Main Stream Media. Nonetheless, I just can’t get used to the idea of three different common meanings for one acronym. LSM for Lame Stream Media, as UpNorth suggested, seems much better suited.

Debra, thats called fair and balanced reporting. Regardless of the numbers, both sides should be given equal time.
Case in point:
I attended a counter-protest with one member of DCProtestWarrior at the Naval Observatory on Masschusetts Ave. in March of 2006. Two of us. There were about 500 from ANSWER, Code Pink, et al. My partner was questioned by the local NBC affiliate, gave a great TV interview and looked much better than I would have on television.
CB, I agree it was fair reporting. I simply found it alittle surprising is all.
