ANSWER protests everything

Code Red and Code Pink 010
There was a lot going on in DC yesterday, so I had to park the truck (illegally) and dismount to the Blogger Urban Reconnaissance vehicle to cover all of the evnts. The first place I went was to the Vietnam Wall where I ran into a small group of Gathering of Eagles folks. I rode up to two guys standing there with flags and asked “Where are the hippies”. Turns out that one of those guys was Toothless Dog Dawg (who , by the way, is a complete phony – he has all of his teeth. I made him show me.)

Then I shot over to Lafayette Park. It was just before noon, and I only saw a few hundred people. This is from my wide angle lensof the whole crowd;

Someone on the loud speaker claimed there were thousands “on their way”, but since it was supposed to start at noon, their numbers were pretty anemic. The Washington Post reports this morning that there were “thousands” – I didn’t see it.

If you’re wondering what those signs say, I blew up the photo for you;

I think these are the “Peace Grannies” preparing to regale the crowd with some of their unique octogenarian rap song stylings.

If you look closely at the pictures, you’ll see that many of the people in the picture are tourists spilling over from the White House;

The only thing I saw worth bandwidth was this hoola-hoop chic;

  2. Jonn, I didn’t tell you that those teeth were my wooden ones? I probably need to get them replace because the termites are driving me crazy. Good to meet you.

  3. Funny you should say that. I just cut up one of my old Impeach Bush T-shirts just last night to use for cleaning my bathroom. But are you sure they had Impeach Bush signs? While we all, of course, believe in recycling, I would think more likely they would have “Arrest Bush” and “Indict Bush” (as in the picture above).

  4. “thousands?!” Losely spaced with a break at the I street intersection, they were from the entrance to the Georgia Brown’s to the entrance to the VA… Unless they lost the majority of the participants along the way… And they had several “stop Haiti occupation” signs, to boot…
