Trio arrested amid multi-county copper wire theft operation in North Carolina

Story by Connor Lomis
GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) – Three people were arrested on Tuesday amid a multi-county copper theft operation in North Carolina.

Records showed 38-year-old Justin McNeely, 43-year-old John Carpenter, and 39-year-old Joshua Robinson are facing multiple charges.

Detectives said they had been monitoring a criminal network operating across Gaston and Cleveland counties, linked to several copper wire thefts.

After an “extensive investigation,” officers served warrants early Tuesday, Oct. 28, and apprehended McNeely, Carpenter, and Robinson.

All three suspects face larceny charges and are being held in jail on secured bonds.

Nice pics. Meth is one helluva drug.

    1. GB, this rifle is one of the oldest items still on the US government property books:
      NSN 1005-00-000-1122 Rifle, .30 CAL, Springfield, M1903

  1. Was a recent series in one of the gun rags comparing the ’91 Mosin, ’03 Springfield, ’99 Ariska (?), and Enfield sniper rifles. Believe the author’s choice was the Russian rifle. He ascribed the ’03 coming in second primarily to mediocre WWII as-issued military ammo, as with modern ammo it easily outshot the rest.
