Fatal Shooting in Gardena Strip Mall

One person was fatally shot by police and another person was injured at the end of a pursuit in a Gardena strip mall.

The shooting involving officers from the Gardena Police Department was reported at 1:40 a.m. in a strip mall parking lot at the intersection of Rosecrans and Van Ness avenues.

The suspects, both women, led police on a short vehicle pursuit that ended in the parking lot, where Gardena police officers did a PIT maneuver and stopped the suspects’ vehicle, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A short standoff ensued, during which the driver allegedly produced a firearm, prompting police to open fire. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and no officers were injured.

The condition of the second woman was not immediately known.

Police: Stolen U-Haul suspect rams officers, shot by police in Clay County

By Chris Essex
CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – An Indiana State Police trooper and a suspect were injured in a police-involved shooting Tuesday evening in Clay County.

According to investigators, a Clay County officer spotted a stolen U-Haul truck at a gas station. The vehicle had been reported stolen three days earlier in Terre Haute.

When police approached, the driver took off, leading officers on a brief chase. About a half-mile into the pursuit, a female passenger jumped out of the truck and was taken into custody.

The chase continued until the driver turned onto a private drive, then turned the truck around so it was facing officers, according to police.

That prompted a 90-minute standoff involving the Terre Haute Police Department’s Special Response Team, Indiana State Police, and Clay County deputies.

Police say the suspect then drove the truck toward officers, ramming multiple vehicles. An Indiana State Police trooper was injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers opened fire, striking the suspect. He was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital. His condition has not been released.

U-Haul to a gun fight, nice. Thanks again Gun Bunny.

There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible to live without breaking laws.

  1. Wow! What a rarity. Women involved in crime activities. Three. Women! WTF! Is it the full moon? Did all their periods synchronize?
Maybe this does warrant inclusion in the 3″ three ring loose leaf binder set of T2NB2AGF.

    1. Unless her name is “Annie”, “Bonnie” or “Ma Barker” it may not be a good idea to take Ms Thang(s) to a gunfight. It’s surely not a good idea to take a U-Haul to a gun fight. May have a “twofer” to add to the T2NB2AGF Binder, Tox.

It’s a crime that We, The People have so many “laws” foisted upon us by despots. We, The People only gave them 10 laws to follow, yet here we are.

There may and/or may not be a wood furniture version of Mr. Ruger’s work awaiting the Gun Bunny at his pard’s Toy Store. No telling what else will be calling his name week after next when I get there. May have to pick up a flotation device while I’m at it.

  2. Such elegance and refinement of simplicity, the Ruger Mini-14 is a delightful classic and tack-driver right out of the box.

    1. Which model was it (Mini 14? Mini 30?) that had accuracy problems when first released?

      1. Just the ones made 1974-2007.

Note this was depicted accurately in the documentary the A-Team where hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition were fired and no one was ever hit.

    1. CLANK! CLANK!
I’m surprised the ship could stay afloat carrying those Big Brass Balls.
Well done, squid (said with inter rivalry affection)
