Trump has done it! Maybe the biggest political comeback of all time. He’s once again the President-elect. And Republicans have taken the Senate (albeit by a slim margin), and it’s looking like they’ll retain the House. Now, I fully expect history to repeat and Republicans to completely squander the next two years of being in sole power in Washington.

  8. Keep in mind the party that sweeps in usually fails to get their shit together when they have a chance.

    Things they need to take care of first term:

    Get inflation down and job market up
    Fix immigration
    Lower the National Debt
    Let Thomas and Roberts retire after so many years of amazing service and let them name their replacements
    Get Iran back in the cage, which should end the war in Israel
    Work out a solution on the Ukraine

    Basically fix Biden’s messes and plan to secure freedom in the future.

      IMHO, “Working out a solution on [the] Ukraine” is Europe’s problem, not the U.S..

      1. IIRC, most, if not all those high level nose-bleed GS positions are appointed, and serve “at the will of the President”. Therefore the President can ask for resignations or outright fire them.

        2. Not sure how the Senior Executive Service works, but if any are appointed, off they go. I think the run of the mill GS structure stops at 15- equivalent to a Colonel.

  26. My state went 65% for Trump, which in any other year would be very good. However we were 5th in level of support with Wyoming 72% and West Virginia 70% taking the top two spots.

    In the weakest states that went for Harris there was NH, NJ and MN with a three way tie at 51%. Seems like more could be done there.

    The thing I am curious about is where did 16M voters in 2020 go? Harris only got 67M, Trump 72M. In 2020 Biden received 81M and Trump 74M. That means that 16M didn’t vote? Seems odd to me.

    1. It’s bonkers that MN came that close. Not only have they not voted for a Republican since Nixon, it’s Walz’s home state and the one he’s the sitting Governor of.

      Just goes to show how unpopular both Kamala and Walz were. They almost lost states they should have comfortably won.

  35. We are four days since the election was held, and Arizona is still counting ballots. Cochise County currently has 47% of the votes counted. 82,242 registered voters. Even if all of them voted, you can’t count them all in four days?

    1. Az said up front it was gonna take them 10-13 days. Why? Because our schools suck and counting is a very serious challenge.
