  1. Today’s FGS Linkys are proof that AW1Ed loves me and wants me to be happy. Woulda been a nice trifecta of love if he’d a had a shot of a fetching Red Headed Ms Thang. That video with the table full of the Creations of HMS JMB (HBHN)? Talk about a kid in a candy store. Be still my beating heart.

  2. Nice selection but they are all pretty much box stock WW1 / 2 types. As for myself I have learned, the hard way, why beavertail safeties and commander style hammers are such a great modification. I also am a fan of better sighting systems than what JMB installed on his great invention. lastly the selection of calibers, frame materials and modifications make it a truly versatile platform.

I have fired the old as issued version that sounded like a hubcap full of gravel kept in the armory in my first basic course and unit. Great for nostalgia but lousy for hitting anything farther away than 5 feet. The newer revisions are far far better.

    1. Elmer Keith was once similarly told .45s were inaccurate. Borrowing one from one of the officers, he walked a few rounds up to a snowbank two hundred yards away, then emptied that and the subsequent magazine into the snowbank. Funny thing – when he asked if any of the officers if they wanted to stand in front of the snowbank for the next magazine, none would.
From “Hell, I Was There!”, Keith’s autobiography.

  3. That is a very handsome revolver and a fine tribute to S&W’s styling. .22 magnums will do the deal and, as heavy as the AL22M looks, it ought to be a very steady and enjoyable way to break a lot of empty beer bottles, or whatever.

Were I ever to become “emperor” of the world, or maybe just influential with a school board, it be a wonderful pleasure to introduce a student marksmanship program as an elective for those with an interest.
