SEALs vs Ninjas

ROS sends us a link to the story about Walker Greentree a seven year old with an eye on becoming a SEAL someday. he had a discussion with his mother about who would be quieter, a ninja or a SEAL. To settle the argument, Walker decided to go the expert on the subject, Admiral William H. McRaven, the Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command. Here’s a record of the discussion;

    Awesomely sweeeeet. That young man has excellent promise. To write to the SEAL Admiral, AND GET A PERSONALIZED REPLY, AS WELL AS A SEAL COIN! What a thing to bring for show-and-tell. I’ll bet he’s above cloud nine right now. Young Walker Greentree bears close watching through the years and strong encouragement.

    I bet Deputy Phildo would know the answer to this question.

    Okay, that is cute and awesome at the same time. And, now he has the ultimate answer to the argument whenever it is brought up.

    Ninjas may be cool, but SEALs get better toys.

    Seriously awesome.

    Of course Ninjas are quieter than SEALS. Hell, a herd of thundering elephants make less noise than our ‘Silent Professionals.’

  8. Okay, now that was pretty freakin’ cool.

    See, that’s the difference: The SEAL gets all the credit for using a multi-billion dollar apparatus to deliver his response to the target; a ninja would have stealthily hand-delivered an anonymous letter in the middle of dinner without anyone noticing.

    I can’t wait until “Pipe Down” McRaven retires. There will be so much joy at USASOC on that day!
