Gary Sinise hopes new documentary inspires others to give back to U.S. wounded warriors
When Gary Sinise took on the role of wounded U.S. serviceman Lt. Dan Taylor in “Forest Gump” in 1994, little did he know it would have such a profound impact on the rest of his life, both personally and professionally.
Today, Sinise spends much of his spare time entertaining and raising money for U.S. troops, veterans and their families with his group The Lt. Dan Band. His experiences have been captured in the documentary “Lt. Dan Band: For The Common Good,” which debuts on the Documentary Channel this Sunday.

stud from day one. Always has supported our troops.
OT–He came here last year for our installation 4th of July celebration. USO wouldn’t sponsor him coming back, so he came on his own, I’m told. While visiting our facility last week he was pleasant, appreciative, all smiles. Our CG was trying to hustle him through the tours, but he insisted on posing for pics with everyone who wanted one. I had a very pleasant time in the sim with him, asking and answering questions. I’m more of a fan now than ever.

He seems like a genuine guy, doesn’t look for the publicity, just likes supporting the troops.
Always liked him,….this solidified that.
Saw him several times, in Hohenfels, and downrange. He is without a doubt a friend of Soldiers, and a good man. Drew Carey as well, and Denzel Washington both left very favorable impressions on me.
