We talked a bit about that filthy liar, Daniel Dembinski a few weeks ago who built his fly tying business around the fantasy that he was a Navy SEAL, because somehow we all want our fishing flies tied by a SEAL. Well, Don Shipley called him before we wrote about him, and since Dembinski makes promises he has no intention of keeping, here’s the video;
Daniel was a Navy Cook… A SOLID month after outing Daniel by phone and with his worthless promise to remove all references to being a wounded SEAL from his Facebook, website and numerous other online outlets for his bullshit, Daniel decided to thumb his nose at me and 70-years of Honorable, Bloody, Naval Special Warfare History.
Daniel Dembinski is a dishonorable THIEF who steals from every man and woman who had the courage to serve in the Military and defend the United States…
With his phone number and email address posted on his website and Facebook I posted it as well and I hope many of you will call Daniel and express your displeasure at his despicable behavior… Tell him Don Shipley says hello…
He’s been promising to correct his website and his Facebook page but somehow in more than three weeks, he hasn’t been able to get it fixed yet. If it ever comes down, he still bears watching, because Dembinski seems married to the lie.

At 3:43 PM (Central) Sept. 12, 1940; Daniel Dembinski says that he is on the phone daily with “mylighthouseweb.com” and that they aren’t helping him take down the site. I let him know that as I was on the phone with him that I was in the home of one of my Decorated Warrior friends, and that he had never opened the turd’s site. He still expects us to let him piss on our legs and is telling us that it is raining.

I just left this comment on his Flyrod Facebook page. He will have no reason to not fix at least that one post that claims his “ex-seal” status, and that some master chief taught him to make flyrods to destress from missions. He will read:

Are you trying to portray yourself as the “Dumb Pollack” of the stories? You attempt to have us believe that you are trying to straighten out your web site and facebook pages. Just below this post, I can see your claims to be an ex-seal, (Something that you, me and a whole lot of pissed off veterans and active soldiers know just is not true.). I know for a fact, that all you have to do is go to the little arrow at the top right of any Facebook post, click on it, select “Delete”, and click, click, it is GONE. I just got off the phone with the guy who worked Dembinski’s website, (6:45 PM Eastern). He is as upset with the lies of this turd as we are. While not a mil-vet himself, he has family who are. In a bit of defense of Dembinski, yes he has screwed up by getting his password, going to the site and attempting to shut things down on his own and screwed that up to the point that now the web designer can’t even access the needed page. The designer is no longer employed by Lighthouse, but is donating his time to try to undo the screwups of Dembinski. He is a good guy, and has no dog in this fight. He offered me a step by step walk through the events of all this shit. And yes, he too is “Over it” with Dembinski. He hopes that the site will be down within a max of 48 hours, provided Dembinski doesn’t do something else to muck it all up.
It’s a WordPress site, which can be taken down and/or changed in the blink of an eye, and he says it will take HOW LONG for it to disappear?
I just went there. He hasn’t changed a thing. Right off the front page: ‘Welcome to our Glass River Fly Rods website! My name is Daniel Dembinski; I served in the Michigan Army National Guard and U.S. Navy for 17 years, including as a member of a Seal Team during Desert Storm and other conflicts. Injured in combat, during several stays in the hospital a Master Chief showed me how to tie flies and build rods.’
I have a WordPress blog. I am the admin person for it, because I set it up. It is a piece of cake to do that and takes 2 seconds to edit and change something on a page or a post. I have done that as needed.
Dembinski can’t be taken at his word about anything.
If that’s the case, why would anyone want to pay a rather high price for a product that can be found at more reasonable prices, with company guarantees, from companies like L.L. Bean, Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shops?
His prices are quite high — triple the price for the same thing from Bass Pro Shops, and double to triple for L.L. Bean, with the except of the Sage line of fly rods — and he offers no guarantee, and based on his behavior and refusal to amend a false claim on his website, I don’t believe anything he says.
How, then, can you trust him to back up his product?
Like I said on the Facebook page, I hear a lot of “I’m a man of my word” and “I’m going to take the claims down” and “I’m going to make it right” and “I’m sorry for lying”, but I have seen NOTHING in the way of a retraction or a correction on the Facebook page.
I wouldn’t trust this fucker with a burned out match at this point.
The site builder says that the site is at Godaddy.com, and contact has been made, and that it should be handled within 48 hours. It could have been immediately handled if Dembinski hadn’t messed up causing a 404 error when trying to access the page that could shut it down.
Stupidity should be painful. And in Dumbasski’s case, he’s got a terminal case.

I have given him a detailed, step by step, tutorial, over the phone, on how simple it is to delete a facebook post. He claims that he has told his child/children of his falsehoods, so why doesn’t he ask them to help him to clean it all up. To date, I have made phone contact with 6 fly fishing associations/groups, and each has assured me that they would like their membership to know of his inability to be truthful. I have also contacted to guide associations, who guide flyfishermen, who are sure that they will let people know of Glass River Fly Rods and the owner’s tendency to be less than honest.

I just called this turd again, getting his voice mail; and let him know that as long as he tries to rock this “ex-seal” thing that I will be hunting down and contacting Flyfishing associations, clubs, forums and also flyfishing guide associations, letting them know that he lies to them, to us veterans, even to his own family, and that means that he has no true assurance of the quality of his product.
I will not quit. If you know of a fly fishing association or guide association in your area, let me know and I will call or contact them too. It must suck to be him.
I remember as a cadet at NY Maritime over ten years ago I was riding on the train thru the South Bronx, on my way to Manhattan to visit my uncle. I was in my dress blue uniform, keeping to myself when this 20-something year old Hispanic guy slid up next to me and thanked me for my service. I respectfully informed him of the difference between the merchant marine and the uniformed services, but he still said thank you. Reluctantly, I accepted.
Ordinarily, I would have simply accepted the appreciation and paid no more mind, but he followed this second thanks by saying, “as a former SEAL, I appreciate what even you guys do.” I turned to him and inquired as to when and where he served in the Navy, to which he replied that he earned an Associates Degree from Annapolis and was commissioned into the SEALS. He proceeded to lift his sleeve and show me a large tattoo on his right upper arm of the SEAL trident. I laughed a little inside, and, not wanting to start a fight on a busy train in the ghetto, waited patiently until my stop and got off.
Two days later, my weekend ended and it was time to ride the train BACK to the Bronx. While waiting to transfer to the local “6” Train at 125th street, there he was…. waiting as well, and the tattoo (obviously a fake) was gone. He saw me grinning and looking at his arm, smiled sheepishly, and ran up the stairs to the street. Pathetic.
I was the last person he probably expected to see ever again!
