  • Where are the anti-war crowd?

    Someone just emailed me an article in regards to LTC Terry Lakin, the Army officer who has refused deployment to Afghanistan on the grounds that the President isn’t a US citizen who is now facing court martial charges. Now, I just spent the morning reading Dede Miller explaining how she respects only the soldiers who lay down their arms and quit.

    I’ve been reading Courage to Resist for years, and there’s no praise for Lakin – lots about Marc Hall, the Stop Loss rapper, Travis Bishop, Alexis Hutchinson, Victor Agosto – but no mention of Lakin.

    I scoured the IVAW website, Veterans Today, March Forward, Veterans for Common Sense and the multitude of other “veterans organizations” and can’t find a mention of support for him anywhere. Vets Voice doesn’t like him though, but that’s because he goes against the party line over there.

    So it looks like This Ain’t Hell is the only consistent voice on the internet – we don’t like anyone who Blue Falcons their fellow troops and won’t do their duty for any reason. the military isn’t a political tool with which to whack any administration. it’s the tool of the American people to be used as we see fit, when we want.

    If Lakin, Agosto, Bishop, Hutchinson or any other peckerwood has a problem with our policies or leadership, they should make their move before they’re called to duty. Period. Anyone on either side who thinks so little of the responsibility with which the American people have entrusted them that they reduce it to a political discussion should be executed on the spot. How’s that for being fair and consistent?

  • LTC decides to end his career and refuse deployment

    Shades of Stefan Cook, the Army Times reports that Army flight surgeon Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin has announced that he’d rather be a political tool than an Army officer by refusing to deploy because the President won’t show Lakin his birth certificate.

    “I am today compelled to make the distasteful choice to invite my own court-martial, in pursuit of the truth about the president’s eligibility under the constitution to hold office,” Lakin said in a YouTube video being circulated by Safeguard Our Constitution, an organization raising money for Lakin’s legal defense.

    “If he is ineligible, I believe my orders and all orders are illegal,” said Lakin, 45. “Any reasonable person looking at the evidence in the public domain would have questions about President Obama’s claim to be a natural-born citizen.”

    Lakin has been in the Army 18 years, is assigned to an Army health clinic at the Pentagon, and he is a recipient of the Bronze Star and various service medals.

    It looks to me as if the Army has a problem in their medical department. First Army doctor Nidal Hasan shoots 14 people at Fort Hood after some politically correct medical officers handed him off between themselves and now this half-wit thinks he has a point. Oh, and did I mention that Army Capt. Connie Rhodes, who tried the same antics last year was also a doctor? Well, she is.

    It’s beyond me why Army officers think that the same behavior endorsed by IVAW and countless other hippie organizations will result in something legal. I’ve written countless times in regards to Cook and Rhodes, this doesn’t help us win the war against terror, and all of this ancillary bullshit doesn’t help the good order and discipline in the military as a whole. Winning that war is more important than anything else we do – everything else is bullshit. As long as the President is still fighting that war and supporting the troops, these pretend patriots who hide behind the Constitution are wrong, wrong, wrong.

    Get a real issue, for fuck’s sake.

  • Another birther officer slapped down in court

    Orly Taitz, DDS Esq. is doing her best to surpass James Branum‘s record in court. Ohio judge Clay Land put Ms. DDS Esq. on notice for her antics in court, according to the Ledger-Enquirer;

    Land also put attorney Orly Taitz, who represents Capt. Connie Rhodes and is a leader in the national “birther” movement, on notice by stating that she could face sanctions if she ever again files in his court a similar “frivolous” lawsuit — a document that at one point the judge states that a middle school student could find irony in.

    “(Rhodes) has presented no credible evidence and has made no reliable factual allegations to support her unsubstantiated, conclusory allegations and conjecture that President Obama is ineligible to serve as president of the United States,” Land states in his order. “Instead, she uses her complaint as a platform for spouting political rhetoric, such as her claims that the president is ‘an illegal usurper, an unlawful pretender, [and] an unqualified imposter.’”

    Yeah, this is the second Army officer to get involved in Orly Taitz’ antics – the first being Major Stefan Cook. Of course the judge didn’t just Rhodes off with a warning;

    Land ordered that the defendants — who include Obama, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Col. Thomas MacDonald, Fort Benning garrison commander — will recover any costs from the complaint from Rhodes.

    Rhodes wasn’t being deployed, she just finished medical school that we, the tax payers, funded. Just like Branum is using soldiers at Fort Hood, Orly Taintz is using soldiers to build herself a law career. Proof? She did an interview with Talking Points Memo and she’s willing to watch her client go to jail for Taintz’ antics;

    And if Rhodes is open to continuing the fight, would Taitz go along?

    “Oh absolutely, absolutely,” she said. “Listen, Nelson Mandela stayed in prison for years in order to get to the truth and justice.”

    Sounds just like Branum doesn’t she?

    Other sources say that Taitz was back in court today;

    Attorney Taitz therefore requests the Court to vacate (annul) its Sept. 16th Dismissal against Rhodes, and grant a stay of deployment to Rhodes, pending further hearing of the case.

    Me? I’d just like Army officers to act like Army officers and not allow themselves to be used by fringe cranks.

  • The Van Jones lesson

    Yes, Van Jones is gone. After more than a week of Glen Beck calling him a communist, Van Jones just couldn’t take it anymore and resigned. It’s a very good thing…I’m glad he’s gone. I’m a bit concerned about who’ll take his place, though. But there’s a lesson in it for all of us. This is from Fox News;

    Jones resigned late Saturday following mounting criticism over his past statements and associations. The tipping point came when it was discovered that he signed a petition in 2004 supporting the “9/11 truther” movement, which believes the Bush administration may have been complicit in the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

    I guess every side has a line it won’t cross. On the Left, they’re afraid to look like cranks if they are Truthers. On the right, it’s Birthers. Birthers have”indisputable proof” just like Truthers have – however it’s not so”indisputable” that anyone wants to stake their careers on defending one of them in public.

    Even though the Left is in charge and they can do whatever they want, the Democrats, the party of murdering unborn babies and warehousing the elderly, discovered that trutherism isn’t something they want to legitimize with the remnants of their reputation.

    So I’m guessing there’s a lesson in there for some of us.

  • Blue Falcon Stefan Cook

    So Blue Falcon (the first word is “Buddy”) Stefan Cook has accomplished that which we here at TAH figured. He screwed two of his fellow Engineer officers according to the Stars and Stripes;

    Lt. Col. Holly Silkman, a spokeswoman for SOCCENT, said the Army couldn’t let Cook’s critical engineer billet be hijacked by further legal wrangling. Cook was scheduled to deploy on July 15, and his position cannot sit empty.

    The officer Cook was supposed to replace “is going to have to remain in Afghanistan a while longer,” Silkman said, noting the Army is seeking a replacement. “No one has been identified yet, but it is a priority fill, so we’re working on it and expect to fill it soon. Engineers are in high demand.”

    One major is screwed because he/she has to remain in theater longer and the other is screwed because he’s/she’s got to deploy on short notice. Does that faze Cook’s dentist/real estate agent/lawyer, Oily Titz?

    The military has shown its cards “and they have nothing to play with,” Taitz said. “By revoking the orders, it’s clear to anybody. Think reasonably: Why would the military undermine itself by revoking its orders?”

    Her conclusion: The Army let Cook out of his orders because officials couldn’t prove in court that Obama was born in the United States and is therefore the legitimate commander in chief.

    Even if the lawsuit was allowed to go forward, those same two majors would’ve been screwed by Cook. Ya know, two good majors that do what they’re ordered to do.

    Cook has lost his second attempt at filing a lawsuit against his employer for stuffing his ass. The implications of the whole new phase of numbnuttery from the experts on numbnuttery at World Net Daily;

    Given the number of sea and barracks lawyers in the various branches of the U.S. military, it seems unlikely that it will take very long for servicemen who are disinclined to accept an unpalatable or dangerous order to figure out how to best make use of this useful little veto. If even a small number of soldiers elect to do so, the effect on military discipline could rapidly become catastrophic.

    So you yardbirds who think you’re doing the country a favor, how about stopping for a moment, taking a deep breath and think about the consequences of your supposedly “patriotic” actions.

    Hat tip to Bouhammer for the S&S article.

  • Birthers use Ron Paulian tactics

    stefan-cook

    You probably remember the big dust up we had this week with the “birthers” (or “nirthers” if you really want to piss them off) over Stefan Cook’s dismissed lawsuit this last week. TSO and I were reminded of the ordeal we suffered through last year as a result of the Paulian invasion of TAH. The comments were all the same; “learn your Comstitution”, “read a book”, “educate yourself” and all of the same old stupid general blather. An attempt to take over the comments by the intellectually shallow. And we always get the blowhards who think that quanitity equals quality.

    Apparently, they’ve adopted the same blathering obnoxious approach across the internet. take a look at the comments Uncle Jimbo’s Ace of Spades post in the post below. Same techniques. I guess they didn’t recognize that Ron Paul’s biggest failing was having nutjobs as supporters who would cut and paste their comments on every Technorati search result of “Ron+Paul”.

    The Columbus, Georgia Ledger-Enquirer discovered the same thing.

  • Why I think you’re crazy

    I got this email yesterday morning and I wasn’t going to mention it until I see my email box filled to the brim over this nirther bullshit. For those of you who think that the IVAW is a subversive organization that means to do damage to the country and our national security, how can you support this kind of lunacy;

    Military, listen up! Now comes your day of reckoning. Will you wait for others to honor their Oath before YOU do? Major Stefan Frederick Cook successfully challenged his deployment orders based on BHO’s illegitimacy. Orders to deploy to Afghanistan were rescinded! Please spread this to every military person you know as it is further confirmation you have NO legal Commander In Chief. Now do you get why THEY have not arrested Lt. Commander Walter Fitzpatrick? They CAN’T risk exposure, plain and simple. So here’s your task. Use the Lt. Commander’s criminal complaint and substitute your name and rank. Notarize and send to me and your State U.S. Attorneys. It will be used in Grand Jury Presentments and other actions designed to FORCE compliance of the top brass to their “OATH OF OFFICE”. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, it WILL be the MILITARY that comes to the rescue of our country. Only YOU can stand up against this monster. Only YOU can make the difference. We The People have had our GOD given rights stripped by the Legislative and Judicial branches of this now FOREIGN government. We stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this fight to restore America to its basis as a Constitutional Republic, the best form of government ever invented on this planet.

    Um, while we’re engaged with a ruthless enemy overseas, these backwards ignorant turds are telling our troops to either (1) lay down their arms and refuse to serve, or (2) overthrow a constitutionally elected President. It’s a bit convoluted so I’m not exactly sure what they’re saying – but I’ve heard it all before from IVAW, Code Pink and VFP. it was traitorous then and it’s traitorous now. It was traitorous when Ron Paul was your savior and it’s traitorous when Orly Taintz is your savior.

    What’s next? When the troops refuse to do your bidding, are you going to spit on them and call them babykillers?

    This Ain’t Hell stands firmly on the Constitution, and we don’t support insurrection. All three of us swore to protect and defend the Constitution and we’ve all been tested in that regard. Do any of us support the current administration’s policies? Other than their policy towards the Taliban, no. To think otherwise is to disregard the last three years of This Ain’t Hell. It’s juvenile to say that we do.

    Is Obama an American citizen? I don’t know. But I know that while we’re talking about some idiot pretender Major who refused to go on the deployment that he volunteered for, we’re getting a socialist health care system rammed up our collective ass. And the nirthers continue to flail around trying to subvert the military.

    That’s why I think you’re crazy.

    By the way, where’s Orly Taintz’ birth certificate? Did she get that by correspondence course, too?
