  • Jane Fonda: Limbaugh is offensive

    Fonda at gun

    Jane Fonda, pictured above during a vacation in North Vietnam a few years back, takes to the internet to pretend that she cares about the troops and the the fact that Rush Limbaugh’s program is on the Armed Forces Network;

    [Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan, and Gloria Steinem] state, “Our entire military depends on troops respecting each other — women and men. There simply can be no place on military airwaves for sentiments that would undermine that respect.”

    From POW Network;

    In a speech to Duke University students in 1970, Fonda told the gathering, “If you understood what Communism was, you would hope and
    pray on your knees that we would someday become Communist.”

    After her trip to Hanoi: …..Fonda told the world press that U.S. prisoners of war were being well treated and not tortured. Her outrageous claims were later exposed when American POWs were finally freed and told of years of agonizing tortures and inhuman treatment. Fonda responded, not with an apology, but with an accusation calling our returned POWs “liars and hypocrites.”

    But, yeah, Limbaugh on AFN is dangerous to our troops’ morale.

    But the real snot blower in Fonda’s little rant is this;

    This isn’t political. While we disagree with Limbaugh’s politics, what’s at stake is the fallout of a society tolerating toxic, hate-inciting speech.

    Yeah, it’s not the politics, even though they’re not calling for the same reaction to Ed Schultz or Bill Maher for using the same word, but talking about Republican women.

  • If Matthis says so, it must be true

    Those vacuous hypocrites at Russia TV feature the equally vacuous hypocrite, Matthis on a few minutes of their reportage about how the US needs a war to fuel our economy;

    Of course, because it doesn’t undermine their credibility a whit, they call him an Iraq War veteran, even though he spent a year in hiding trying to prevent that precise label.

    For any new viewers, Matthis avoided his recall to active duty after serving honorably in Japan and Germany for five years as a military journalist. He refused to deploy, so refusing to deploy to Iraq doesn’t make him an Iraq War veteran.

    His little comment about streamers on the Army’s colors; I’m not sure if his number (185) is correct, but he claims there’s one streamer for each war the Army has been in and that’s not exactly true either (surprise) – the streamers represent campaigns, not separate wars. So that kinda shoots down his little vacuous point about the US participating in a war every year since it’s founding.

    And so, because Matthis says that we have a vested interest in continuing world wide wars, it must be true. It’s funny, not much, that the people we end up fighting are usually armed with Russian-made weapons like the AK47 and AK74, RPGs, so it’s more than a little disingenuous of Russia TV to make these empty charges without taking a gander at themselves in the mirror.

  • Jewish veterans’ headstones vandalized in FL

    I picked this Fox Tampa Bay article from Atlas Shrugs about Jewish headstones in a veterans’ cemetery being targeted by thugs. The headstones are marked with a Star Of David while Christian graves are marked with a cross;

    Sumter County Sheriff’s Office detectives started their investigation into what happened to the headstones on Monday. Several headstones in two sections of the Florida National Cemetery were found pushed over or dug out last weekend.
    […]
    “This is a tragic and despicable incident, and whoever is responsible for this should be ashamed of their actions and brought to justice,” Florida Rep. Gus Bilirakis said in a statement obtained by FOX 13. “Not only did these vandals desecrate the memorials of those who fought and died to protect our freedom, but they targeted individuals simply because of their religious beliefs.”

    I’m just wondering where Gordon Duff and his acolytes were last weekend, since he seems to be the sole arbiter of who gets to be called a veteran and who doesn’t.

  • Mourning Kusinich

    Yes, the man who built the final years of his Congressional career on opposing George Bush, undermining our national security, and fighting every urge of common sense, Dennis Kusinich was beat in his primary bid last night by an equally odious Democrat, Marcy Kaptur. The New York Times says it’s the geography what beat him;

    The outcome was largely expected. Mr. Kucinich, an antiwar populist from Cleveland who has run for president twice, lost his district when state lawmakers redrew the electoral map after Ohio, whose population has been dwindling, lost two Congressional seats last year. The new district — a skinny strip of land that covers parts of five counties from Cleveland to Toledo — contained more of Ms. Kaptur’s old territory than Mr. Kucinich’s, and Mr. Kucinich had been struggling to win over voters in areas beyond his traditional stronghold of Cleveland.

    Claymore, of course, went over to Democratic Underground to determine the climate amongst non-Ohioans who are only concerned with themselves and not constituents. They were sullen and in mourning.

    You were willing to be unpopular, you spoke and still speak truth to power, when too many wanted that truth silenced, and you spoke for the poor and the workers when none of the leaders of our party wanted them mentioned.

    You spoke for peace when no one else in Congress would. You spoke against torture and for openness when others didn’t have the courage. You were the only genuine progressive in TWO Democratic presidential campaigns, and huge amounts of money and media invective were used to stop you.

    You were willing to look like a complete retard without a drop of common sense and succeeded magnificently, you ugly little troll. I wonder if his gorgeous wife will last much longer now that the bloom is off his rose.

    Kucinich has a national following so he could easily pop up in another state and run for congress there. I’m not sure where every state is on their Democratic Party primaries and what their rules are regarding residency, but it may be possible for him to even run in this election cycle. At the very least I expect he will turn up somewhere else next election cycle.

    The party of carpet baggers and political district shopping. I guess they don’t care if they’re represented by one of their own, someone who shares their trials and tribulations. The election is the only goal.

    The lesson is; if you run your campaign against President Bush after he’s out of office, you’ll fail every time.

  • How we got here

    Yeah, the current economic crisis is George Bush’s fault. It couldn’t be the fault of people buying houses they couldn’t afford, and especially not these poor people interviewed by the Washington Post;

    The eviction from their million-dollar home could come at any moment. Keith and Janet Ritter have been bracing for it — and battling against it — almost from the moment they moved into the five-bedroom, 4,900-square-foot manse along the Potomac River in Fort Washington.

    In five years, they have never made a mortgage payment, a fact that amazes even the most seasoned veterans of the foreclosure crisis.

    Their adversaries, they argued, are giant financial institutions with armies of lawyers that are out to make as much money as possible at the expense of homeowners.

    I’d argue that their adversary is common sense, which they’ve successfully dodged, apparently. Yeah, banks are supposed to make money, that’s how they stay in business, and that’s how I have free checking and free banking. But then, what do I know? I bought my house without using a bank, because I don’t like banks either. I bought a house that I could afford at the height of the poor housing market and I don’t have a mortgage, so I guess I should have no opinion when someone buys a 1.3 million dollar home and never makes a single payment on it.

    And obviously, the Ritters have no shame about the fraud that they’ve perpetrated on the US economy, otherwise, why would they allow the Post to publish their picture and their story like they’re some kind of Robin Hood taking on the evil banking system?

    In 2007, my bank went out of business because they’d sold an assload of bad mortgages in Georgia, a year later all of my credit cards had changed banks because more banks had gone out of business because of bad loans. Anyone who didn’t see this coming, was intentionally blind. And if I’m not mistaken, George Bush tried to get Congress to tighten restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who were handing out mortgages like candy to risky borrowers like the Ritters.

  • Grifter Bradshaw in the wind again

    We first mentioned Michael Allen Bradshaw last month when police were looking for him, then we mentioned when he walked in to a diner and surrendered himself to lunching officers. Bradshaw had posed as a wounded veteran and bilked several people out of money in their sympathy for him.

    Well, it seems that police have released him again.

    Police said they can’t say how many times Bradshaw may have used a false identity to con someone, and unfortunately, there is little they can do until he strikes again.

    “Lots of people didn’t even feel like they had been victims until they saw the (media) coverage,” said Cpl. Jake Smith with the Gwinnett County Police Department.

    That’s because, according to police, Bradshaw was very convincing while performing his con.

    So you folks in the Atlanta area need to be aware of this bullet head and his proclivity for being a lying shitbag.

  • Judge in hiding for ruling against Zombie Muhammed

    The DC Caller reports that Judge Mark Martin has sequestered himself and his staff because of death threats he and his office have received from people who are less than pleased with his interpretation of his duties as a judge.

    Mechanicsburg District Judge Mark Martin and his staff moved to the more secure Cumberland County Courthouse in Carlisle, Pa. Tuesday. Martin will not elaborate on how long he and his staff will remain there for security reasons, according to The Patriot-News.

    Apparently, Ernest Perce, otherwise known as “Zombie Muhammed” told the DC that he, too is the victim of death threats as well;

    In a recent interview with The Daily Caller, Perce said he had received over 470 threats since Elbayomy’s acquittal.

    “People have said that they would kill me, rip my eyes out, run me over, shoot me and then laugh at me, since I have blasphemed Muhammad,” he said. “They say I will be found out and hung in front of my family.”

    I guess the big difference is that the judge is probably protected by better men than him in the uniform of the County Sheriff, whereas Perce must depend on his own resources. Good thing PA is a “shall issue” state. Perce is probably being threatened by Amish intent on drive-bys in their horse-drawn carriages that they’re so well-known for perpetrating.

    In my personal experience, though, death threats are harmless. Usually made by cowards who have no intention of following through. No matter how much I try to entice them into action.

  • Dating websites sued for resurrecting fallen soldier

    Alan Burk, while surfing the network came across an ad which pictured his son, Army Lt. Peter Burks, so when he clicked on it, the link took him to a dating website. The problem is that Lt. Burk had been killed in 2007 in Baghdad. So the elder Burk has filed a lawsuit against PlentyofFish.com and True.com. From Associated Press;

    Alan Burks said he plans to donate any money awarded in the suit to military charities.

    “For me, this is making sure that the honor and legacy of Peter is protected,” he said. “But also it concerns me that they would use the likeness of a live soldier or someone else.”

    Both companies have said that they’ve removed Burk’s pictures and that the lawsuit shouldn’t have been filed, but that’s kind of missing the point. They stole the picture from the Burk’s Unsung Hero Fund website with complete disregard for the young man and the family’s loss. I hope they pay through the nose.
