  • Dick Stoops busted

    Dick Stoops

    Some of you might remember Dick Stoops, pictured above in all of his phony finery, who was about to be inducted into the Kansas National Guard Hall of Fame. I wrote about him here and here a few months back.

    Even though we had a copy of his records, the head of the museum still believed Stoops’ version.

    Well, a reporter from the Kansas City Star, Lee Hill Kavanaugh, with whom I’ve been working called to tell me that Stoops’ family and the director of the Hall of Fame went to St. Louis and looked up his records for themselves. They’re not talking about what they found, but the director says that Stoops won’t be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Stoops had been been peddling his story for four decades and it’s finally come to an end.

    Another take down by TAH along with our friends at POW Net and Doug Sterner. Keep your eyes out for the Sunday edition of the Star.

  • Another reason to like Martin Luther King, Jr – Matthis doesn’t

    Remember when Matthis tried to convince all of us that by burning the flag we could liken him to the Reverend Doctor King?

    While I cannot say if within a year a bullet will lay my body to rest, I can imagine how lonely and heart-broken must have felt enduring the harsh criticism of people he loved for having taken what he saw as a righteous and timely stance.

    Well, now suddenly, he’s changed completely on the man.

    I think it’s funny that he complains that Eldridge Cleaver is now a Republican – Martin Luther King was also a Republican. But even though Cleaver is wrong now, as claimed by Matthis, somehow he’s correct when he says something with which Chiroux agrees. I guess we should ignore the fact that King actually effected change and go with something more radical that never works, radical fundamentalism as an engine for reform.

    Yeah, that’s the ticket, ignore the lessons of history and try to force failures to fit.

  • From the other end of the spectrum

    Bobby Whittenberg is doing his best to undermine the IVAW from his end of the political spectrum.

    Matthis expressed his support for Whittenberg and mentioned his desire to leave IVAW as well. Unfortunately, my ninja spy wasn’t fast enough to screen cap it – so you can believe me or not. I know it’s not likely Matthis will leave his latest abused girlfriend, the IVAW. He’s just butthurt because someone has been questioning his behavior – and he’s threatening to leave. The fact that he took his comment down shows all of the finger wagging is having an effect on him.

    I wonder if the IVAW will ban Whittenberg for life like they did to Casey Porter?

    Anyone who wants to greet Matthis, I guess he’ll be at Fort Hood soon;

  • Phony in Raleigh

    We got a tip that there’s a serious phony Marine in Raleigh by the name of Alan Robert Lorinth expressing his first amendment right to be a jerkwad. According to POW Net, he’s been confronted and reported several times for pretending to be a Marine (his actual service was in the Army as a chaplain’s assistant in Vietnam), a POW, and an awardee of three Purple Hearts.

    Here’s a copy of the DD214 he flashes around;

    You’ll notice the Purple Hearts listed on the DD214 are in a different sized type and font than the previous entries and the award would actually read “Purple Heart 3rd Award” in military speak. Also, he typed “CAB” (Combat Action Badge – an Army award established three decades after he left the service) instead of “CAR” (Combat Action Ribbon – the award he’d be given if he was a Marine for service in combat).

    POW Net also has pictures of his license plate – Purple Heart plates, of course. I guess that means he’s used his freedom of speech to get perks to which he’s not entitled.

    He’s so ashamed of his service, he pretends to be a Marine – interservice rivalry aside, how fucked up is that? The Marines don’t want him (he’s been kicked out of the Marine Corp League) and we don’t want him either. He changed his MOS to get out of being an engineer and now he wants us to think he’s a machine gunner. Dickwad.

    POW Net has three apologies he’s sent them over the years, but he continues his behavior – he was most recently reported in January 2010 playing the role. Here he is on the current roster of the Tamarac, FL Marine Corps League.

    Let’s get him the publicity he so desperately craves.

  • Letters from IVAW

    As a query to IVAW’s Jose Vasquez, the Executive Director, I sent this picture of Matthis and asked Jose if this is the official position of IVAW. Vasquez responded that I should know better. That “Matthis marches to his own drum.” He also added that I should be heartened by the fact that there’s a whole new Board of Directors who will rein in some of this behavior.

    Isn’t that what we were told last year after the election of the Board? The Board upon which Matthis currently sits? The same board that lets shit like this stand;

    “…a lot of people in this country feel like the US army is some place to go and make a man of yourself. I am less of a man today for having served in the US military.” – Matthis Chiroux Afghanistan War Veteran

    There are lots of reasons that Matthis is less of a man, none of those reasons have to do with the military – except that lie he propagates about being an Afghanistan veteran.

    IVAW won’t do anything about Matthis, they’re too busy pushing the Code Pink agenda on Gaza and something about immigration. Nothing that has to do with the troops. Apparently, the only statement about the troops from IVAW is coming from Matthis.

  • Burning flags, doggie snuff films, lying about the MOH; all in a days work for Judge Blackburn

    rick-duncan

    Lying about being a lawyer: still illegal.

    Last week a Federal Judge in Denver, Colorado ruled that lies are constitutionally protected. It is the first such ruling of its kind, extending to fallacious speech the same protections as say the “I have a Dream” speech. It’s instructive to see how we got here before delving into the decision itself.

    Rick Glen Strandlof was a gay battalion commander of Marines who had a metal plate in his head (with no scar, amazingly) from wounds received watching the Battle of Fallujah from California on his Sony widescreen. During the ferocious fighting he saw there, he also had a finger shot off, despite the fact he still has all 10 digits on his hands. (No word on when he will be indicted for killing the father of Inigo Montoya.) Roaming around Colorado (having left Cali, and been tossed from Nevada for defrauding folks hoping to bring auto racing to Reno) Rick went by the last name “Duncan” where he bilked well-meaning folks for money for his left-wing veterans’ organization, and appeared as himself in various campaign commercials for anti-war organizations like VoteVets and candidates for Congress. He also attended Iraq Veterans Against the War poetry readings wherein he somehow survived a fate worse than death as each struggled to find something to rhyme with “illegal and Immoral.”

    Of course, everything that Rick Glen “Duncan” Strandlof knew about war he learned from watching TBS on Memorial Day. I half expected him in this clip with Anderson Cooper to tell us about the time his unit went behind enemy lines with a guy named “Oddball” to rob a bank in Nancy.

  • Add two more Fakes to the Wall of Shame.

    We have two more examples to show off on how low people are going for attention. I would like to introduce to you MCCUNE, ROBERT CHARLES.

    He is claiming two purple hearts, Vietnam service with the 82nd Airborne Division, and A Warrant Officer. But his DD-214 says that the highest rank he got was a SFC with no combat deployments.

    But the next person make him look like a saint. Let me introduce to you Worden, Christopher James.

    Claims that he finished as Platoon Sergeant, but his DD-214 says otherwise. Also he was using laws that are meant to help Vets in succeed in the workforce.

    The said part is that this is just from last month and I have not covered all of the POW site for June.
