  • Derek Good, knucklehead phony

    When is being a paratrooper in the 82d Airborne Division not good enough? Apparently when you’re a County Commissioner in Georgia (Atlanta Journal Constitution link);

    Resentment has been building since June, when Good stepped down from his campaign for a third term after his claims of service as an Army Ranger and an earned bachelor’s degree were challenged by the local newspaper, the Cherokee Ledger News. Good, who did serve in the 82nd Airborne Division, admitted he did not serve in the Rangers and lied about a business degree from the University of Maryland.

    Thanks to Claymore for the link.

  • Angelo Otchy, another phony hero

    Zedechek sent us an article last night about military barfly Angelo Otchy, the New Jerseyian who managed to get booted from nearly every branch of military service, and then engineered his own award of his community’s Distinguished Service Medal with his fantasies;

    The 35-year-old Army veteran told a reporter that day about his three tours of duty in Iraq. Voice dropping to a near-hush, he spoke, too, about the buried bomb that ripped through his Humvee, injuring him and claiming the lives of three friends, one of them a soldier from Paterson.

    “I’m haunted by that day every day of my life,” Otchy told The Star-Ledger.

    But Otchy wasn’t in that Humvee. He was at home in New Jersey when the soldiers died. And he didn’t serve three tours of duty in Iraq. He served half of one tour before he was sent back to the States for extended rest and relaxation.

    Sweet Marie. And who busted him? It was his own uncle, a colonel. The Star Ledger says he had an extensive military career;

    Records show he joined the Army in December 1993, only to be discharged four months later. In May 1996, he enlisted in the Marine Corps but washed out of basic training. Otchy said he failed to qualify in weapons proficiency.

    Just three months later, he joined the Navy. Again it didn’t stick. Otchy lasted less than a year before he was discharged.

    “I didn’t want to do it anymore,” he said.

    Now someone compare that quote with this statement from Otchy;

    “I was feeling down and out, and I guess I wanted someone to appreciate what I did for this country, because I sure as hell don’t feel appreciated,” Otchy said. “I’ve been home two years, and maybe two people said ‘Thank you for your service.’?”

    Poor guy, he didn’t do anything and feels unappreciated.

  • Small Time Phoney.

    Found this on a site on FaceBook. Seems that is person claims that he is the best medic ever. I found a few items that I could spot like the the Army Reserve Achievement Medal and the Bronze Stars rather then Oak Leaf clusters. I am not sure about the last two medals if that are a Drill Ribbon or a Reserve Good Conduct Medal.

    But I thought that you would love the Infantry Ribbon with the Medical Crest and Disks. Granted not the biggest fake ever but I figured that this guy is going to go further down this road. But one of the best line said was this.

    If he is the best medic where’s his EFMB?

  • Under the Hood rubs egos in Killeen

    Fort Hood Protest (32)
    So here’s the massive protest the gang from Under the Hood cafe staged at Fort Hood to protest the deployment of 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment’s deployment next month. I don’t know who sent me the pictures, they just fell into my inbox this afternoon.

    Here’s Under the Hood’s press release;

    Attending the rally will be Veterans of the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, military family members, active-duty servicemembers and other local activists. Bobby Whittenberg, former Marine, Purple Heart recipient and an organizer of the rally said marchers are standing in solidarity with the people of Iraq and Afghanistan, and troops being deployed against their wills.

    “We need to send a strong message that these wars and occupations are wrong, and that officers sending Soldiers in need of medical care into combat is wrong, too,” said Whittenberg. “Unfortunately in the military, this is standard operating procedure.”

    This latest demonstration comes less than a month after a prior demonstration at the East Gate of Fort Hood opposing the wars. As the latest outrage unfolds in response to the 91,000 documents leaked by Wikileaks detailing numerous human rights violations in Afghanistan, activity in the local peace community is surging, with similar demonstrations planned for the near future.

  • Phony SEAL Mickey Lloyd resigns

    You may remember the Cobb County, GA, Public Safety Director, Mickey Lloyd we wrote about earlier this month on a tip from Just A Grunt. Well, he had until Wednesday to unfuck his record and come up with an honest DD214.

    Wednesday, he was still managing the goat fuck.

    Lloyd and his attorney, William McKenney, were adamant Wednesday that the public safety director has in fact received several awards, including a Bronze Star and a Silver Star, that were not included in his military record. When he was discharged from the military in 1970, the initial form listed the awards, Lloyd said. But when a certified copy of the form was requested later in his career, it came back without the medals, he said. Lloyd and McKenney are attempting to get the records corrected.

    But Friday is a new day and Just A Grunt sends this link;

    Lloyd released a statement Friday afternoon.

    I have spent almost 40 years in law enforcement devoting all my energy as well as my official and personal time to protecting and serving the residents of our state including the last seven years as the Public Safety Director for Cobb County.

    In my various law enforcement capacities I have always enjoyed a reputation for honesty, truthfulness and integrity. Recently, I have been the subject of attacks by the news media and various officials concerning my mlitary service which has distracted me from providing my full time and efforts to serving the residents of Cobb County as Director of Public Safety.

    I certainly could continue to take time away from my position to fight these accusations but the individuals who will ultimately suffer are the members of our Public Safety Department and our residents.

    Therefore, at this time I am retiring and have tendered my resignation to the County. It has been an honor and a privilege serving the residents of Cobb County.

    Yeah, it’s your fault – if you didn’t expect him to be so forthright and honest, he wouldn’t have to keep presenting false DD214s. He’s enjoyed a reputation of being truthful – until you ratfucks started asking him questions. I mean he mentioned John Kerry, right? That should prove his stories, right there. What do you people want?

    Bitches.

  • Exercising his first amendment right to defraud a community

    TSO sent me this link about a Walter Coleman who pretended to be a veteran to start a foundation to raise money for a Fallen Heroes monument in Texas

    Walter Coleman said the United States Fallen Heroes Foundation was a non-profit agency — but it wasn’t.

    Coleman used two names, and he represented himself as a veteran when he is not.

    “I think it’s sick that someone would essentially try to fraudulently raise money in the name of men and women who have given their lives for their country,” said State Rep. Chris Turner (D-Kennedale).

    Hey! The fuckwad was just exercising his First Amendment right to pretend he’s a veteran. So what if he ripped off a few rubes…his freedom of speech is more important that the damage he did to the community, the foundation and the reputation of veterans, isn’t it?

    It was a television station that busted Coleman – he couldn’t have been doing anything wrong, because the State or the Feds would have busted him, right? This is just a witch hunt against a good American workin’ his Bill of Rights.

  • WRAMC CSM busted for stolen valor *Bumped*

    According to CNN, a Sergeant Major has been busted at Walter Reed. CNN calls Stoney Crump THE Command Sergeant Major of WRAMC, but that’s not true – he’s one of the CSMs.

    Among the courses he is alleged to have attended were Reconnaissance School, Sniper School,; Drill Sergeant Course,; U.S. Army Ranger School and several Special Forces schools and courses, the Army charge sheet says.

    Crump is also charged with falsely stating in a biography he was a registered nurse. Other charges say he knowingly wore up to fifteen service ribbons and awards he was not entitled to wear, including a Marine Corps Combat Action ribbon and a Presidential Unit Citation, which is awarded for a extremely meritorious or heroic act, usually in the face of an armed enemy.

    CNN got the Presidential Unit Citation wrong, too – it’s awarded to an entire unit that performs in an operation at a level that would warrant a Distinguished Service Cross for everyone in the whole unit, not a single act.

    Will you tell me why a Sergeant Major would feel a need to make shit up?

    I found an interview he did last year in which he said “Never forget that you’re a member of a time-honored corps and a legacy. I tell Soldiers when they look in a mirror they should see a whole line of faces behind them.” That quote may prove prophetic for former Sergeant Major Crump.

    When he looks in the mirror at Leavenworth, I’m pretty sure he’ll clearly see a whole line of faces behind him.

    What? Too soon?

    Thanks to stingerwooten for dropping off the link in another post.

    *Bumped* There’s more about this peckerhead so I bumped the article up. Updates below the jump;

  • TAH in the KCS

    The Kansas City Star finally posted the story about Dick Stoops. Unfortunately, they didn’t include his name, but fortunately they made it a story about hunting phonies and about our friends Doug Sterner and the Schantags. The article also misquoted me – I told Ms. Kavanaugh that CPT Larry Bailey had to inform families that their dead father or husband couldn’t be buried with military honors-not me.

    Otherwise, it’s well-researched article about some of the people involved in outing phonies – a club of which I’m proud to be the newest member. Ms. Kavanaugh has been working on the article since April and it shows. Good job, Lee.

    You should read the whole thing.
