The Washington Post did an interview with our buddy Doug Sterner. I call him a hero’s hero because he’s one of the few who stand up for the real heroes in spite of the criticism against him.
In this video, he explains why he does what he does. What he doesn’t mention is that he started in the business of hunting phonies when he caught someone who stole the valor of one of his friends who Sterner lost in Vietnam.
I know there must be some Philadelphia tax payers in this crowd that are upset that a phony Afghanistan veteran and admitted rapist is lying to your kids in the schools that you fund.
He still claims he is an Afghanistan veteran. In this video, he claims he “trained up” for his six days at the Bagram Baskin Robbins. He tells the kids that soldiers are trained to shoot civilians.
He spews out statistics about 1 in 3 women being sexually assaulted while they’re in the military. 1 in 5 men are sexually assaulted during their terms. He gets those figures from a study that sent out hundreds of thousands of surveys and got only few thousand surveys back. One third of the women and 20% of the men who responded claimed to have been sexually assaulted. Not a very scientific survey.
According to Matthis, 1 in 4 homeless people in NYC are veterans and veterans are the largest demographic among the homeless. More accurately, more homeless claim to be veterans than they claim to be from any other demographic. Most of the homeless veterans I’ve talked to wouldn’t know an M16 from an E-tool.
And you’re all drug-adled sociopaths teetering on the edge of suicide like him.

One of you sent me this scan of an article in the Western North Carolina Mountaineer, but I’ll be dipped if I can remember who it was. Sorry.
Apparently they ran the article in the print edition and it never made it to the internet edition. But apparently, it’s about this poor down-trodden fellow who joined the Army during the Vietnam War, became an infantryman, airborne then a Ranger and made Sergeant all before he was 18. Then the Army shipped his studly ass straight to Vietnam on his 18th birthday, February 20, 1969 and he didn’t leave until November 5, 1973 – that’s one long-ass tour, brother. He said he was assigned to the 5th SFG and attached to 173rd. (Sorry you guys from 1st Cav, I guess he didn’t think enough of you to make his story include you).
He goes on about how he was strumming his guitar one night and some sergeant major drafted him into MACV because I guess they were understrength guitar players.
Anyhow he was captured and held as a POW in Laos for three months. he doesn’t say how he became a non-POW. But I guess the Army screwed him for his POW time when he refused to re-enlist and said he’d been AWOL and dishonorably discharged him. Here’s the scan of his story; (more…)
This morning I was looking for reports of Kokesh’s antics at the Jefferson Memorial yesterday and our buddy Marooned in Marin beat me to it.
ADDED: The Code Pink version;
Looking at the video, it looks like a bunch of spastic nerds showed up yesterday hoping to be arrested but the park police disappointed them. At the end of the video, when the park police finally decided to crack down, they started giving the cops shit. The cops are just doing their jobs, it does no good to yell at them. Yell at the people who make the laws that the cops are only enforcing, dolts.
Actually, it’s pretty pathetic to see so many people show up for dancing at the Jefferson Memorial, but they won’t show up at the polls to vote for candidates that will get government out of their lives.
So was the protest really all that important? I’ll bet if you asked everyone who was dancing if they thought taxes on the rich should be raised, they’d resoundingly support that – but let us dance. Should we be allowed to smoke in bars? No! But let us dance. Ban transfats? Yes, but let us dance! Tax fatty or sugary foods? Yes, but don’t stop us from dancing!
They’ll vote for single-payer universal health care, but the government should let them dance.
Drill and refine our own oil and gas reserves? No! But let us dance!
Well, you get the idea. Silly, pathetic little trolls.
Buffalo News reports that David A. Fabrizio, 66, a supposed 33-year veteran Marine (four active, the remainder in the MC Reserves) was found guilty of violating the Stolen Valor Act by wearing unauthorized medals to a youth event “Niagara Youth Marine Cadets”. He was fined $500 which he donated to a veterans’ organization;
“My name and reputation will survive through this minor, yet dark personal event,” Fabrizio said in a statement e-mailed Friday to The Buffalo News. He added that the incident will not deter him from his efforts to see that veterans are honored.
The incident has upset some local Marines, who said they do not consider it a minor matter.
“A lot of us heard about this, and yes, it did upset us,” said Marine Lt. James Lalor, executive officer of the Buffalo-based India Company, 3rd Battalion of the 25th Regiment. “Any Marine who has ever earned a rank or an honor is sensitive to this kind of thing. A lot of Marines earned those honors but never got to wear them on their chest because they never came back alive.”
The October 2009 incident prompted a complaint to the Buffalo FBI office, which investigated, authorities said.
Apparently, he’s not contrite. Maybe someone in the Buffalo area can convince him that this isn’t a “minor” event. If he had 33 years in service and made E-9 like he says, Fabrizio, should know what “stolen valor” is all about.
Stingerwooten and Tman sent us a link about a phony SEAL named Salhem Dreasden who was a friend of a parent and showed up at a school in Thousand Oaks, CA on a “Thank You, Soldiers” event that the students sponsored according to the Ventura County Star;
The name Salhem Dreasden, however, does not appear anywhere in databases of Navy service members that go back to at least the Vietnam War, said Katie Suich, a spokeswoman for the Navy Personnel Command in Tennessee. There aren’t any S. Dreasdens in the database, either, she said.
Federal law prohibits the unauthorized wearing of a U.S. military uniform.
Dreasden could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
Why is it always the portly ones? He doesn’t look like he could carry a sack of groceries to his car let alone run across a beach with a sand bag on his shoulders. I hope someone punches his flabby face for raining on these kids’ sunny day and their important tribute to the troops.
Update: Thanks to some searching by MD we have more info about him. He seems to be active in the muscle car community. He has been claiming to be SEAL since 2005. He is also posing as a Officer in the photo as well.
This guy is white with freckles and glasses…but I know his name is Nate so I don’t think I saw the other guy.. Oh well, Here’s the rest of the story and pretty much the end of this deal cause I just talked to Salhems fiance on the phone during lunch. I got pulled over in his mustang and it was registered to this girl so I asked him about it and he of course told me it was one of his “investors”. Anyways, I talked to her.. the car is hers it is in her name she bought it and he TOOK it to run from the cops cause he stole a bunch of money from his g/f before her and is on the move. So he stole money from his gf and took his fiance’s car… kick ass dude. So, the deal is he is NOT a SEAL. He stole that car. He does NOT own a business. His real name is not Salhem Dreasden it is Dan. That car is stock because he doesn’t know SHIT about cars and its his woman’s. He’s been on the run but is headed back to Cali right now figuring things have died down
UPDATE ON THIS PHONY and his gun charges;Our newest buddy, Peg McNichols of the Canton Patch reports that 2 of the 3 gun charges against Schepansky were dropped this afternoon, but he will appear on the third charge of carrying a concealed weapon in the Wayne County Circuit Court.
Meet Raymond Schepansky, a military history teacher in Michigan, near Detroit. He was arrested last month for bringing a 9mm handgun and two magazines of ammunition to work at Plymouth-Canton Community Schools under the seat of his Kia. In the initial article that I read, he claimed to be a Special Forces Major and a retired Ranger, unfortunately, that article has disappeared. I did however save this screen shot of his LinkedIn profile in which he claims to be an SF major on active duty;
You can also hear the police testify to Schepansky’s reference to his “Special ops” training at about 1:10 into this video;
Well, that’s not true. According to records (which erroneously call him a Specialist First Class when they mean to list his rank as Sergeant First Class) he was a Red Leg fire support coordinator from 1976 – 1992;
And his FOIA report;
I’m guessing he was a Sergeant First Class because he attended the Advanced NCO Course in 1987 – but he certainly isn’t a Major, he’s not on active duty, and there’s nothing in his records to indicate he was ever anywhere near Camp Mackall. And there’s no record of him in Army Knowledge Online which twigged me to him in the first place;
Currently serving members of the Regular Army, National Guard and Reserves are required to have an AKO account.
By reading the article, you can tell he probably scared school officials with his “crazy combat vet” demeanor and I want to disabuse the world of any act he might put on while hiding behind his “SF Major” facade. I may email this to the prosecutor on Monday morning.
Actually what made me suspicious of him was the Kia – no SF Major would ever be caught dead in a Kia.
I’m pretty sure that someone sent me the initial link to the article, but I can’t remember who. Sorry. But thanks to Mary at POW Network for finding these records for us.
Meet LTC Warryck-Regan Lee Wolf, the lesbian Marine who has no record of service except the records she fabricates herself. Like this profile from We Served Together;
Notice that she thinks making Lieutenant Colonel with just three years of service is perfectly plausible. The video she posts has numerous photos that she claims is her, but they could be anyone, actually, except for the one obvious photoshop;
You’d have to be seriously gullible to fall for that one. I could probably PS better than that…and I’m the worst.
I went through DoD press releases and found only Army casualties for January 12, 2011, the day she claims she was wounded and four of her Marines were killed by an IED.
She also stages her own beating to further legislation in SC for hate crimes. And she’s probably the ugliest lesbian I’ve ever seen outside of Vermont.
Thanks to the folks at POW Network for the link on that one.
