  • Occutard Phony in Buffalo still at it

    You probably remember Christopher M. Simmance who we discussed last week while he was blowing up his military credentials. Apparently he’s blowing up his creds even further. I took some screen shots from this video;

    He’s wearing a 2d Ranger Battalion scroll as a combat patch…and a Ranger qualification tab over it, which no real Ranger would do;

  • Another phony WTF

    Another phony WTF

    Meet James Bryan who ran for Congress as a write-in candidate in Florida’s 1st District last year.

    Believe it or not, he really was a Master Sergeant, a Jumpmaster, he really does have a Silver Star, he really does have Bronze Star Medal with a Valor device, 2 Purple Hearts and an ARCOM with a Valor device, but there’s no CIB, no Special Forces training, no Free Fall badge, no Pathfinder School, no First Sergeant assignment. He was a Red Leg, and last time I checked, there are no 13-series in Special Forces. Here are his records;

  • Strandlof occupies Denver

    Yeah, the dude wearing a tent over his head is Rick Strandlof the phony gay Marine captain, former member and mental health counselor of the IVAW and paid campaigner for VoteVets-chosen candidates.

    The last time we heard from him, he was impersonating a Jewish lawyer. Now, not surprisingly, according to the Denver Post, he’s supporting shiftless hippies.

    Thanks to James for the link.

  • Meet Lt S###bag

    Cakmakli nominates Lieutenant Shitbag for next year’s tournament;

    Compete with a close-up of his phony finery;

    The story is over at Militaryphotos.net.

    The SEALs are letting an awful lot of people be SEALs without going through BUD/S these days. I guess that’s why he’s wearing the miniature version of the badge. I think he’s the second Marine SEAL we’ve seen in the last few months. And when did the Marines start wearing pleated gray Dockers?

  • Phony at Occupy Buffalo

    ADDED: There’s a much longer and more damning article at the Buffalo News on this ass munch.

    Cakmakli and Ed send us a link to Military.com about a braggart by the name of Christopher M. Simmance in Buffalo who claimed to have spent three tours in the War Against Terror, however, his records show that he got out of the Army in january 2001;

    Simmance insists his Army records are incomplete. He told The News he stands by his claims of seeing combat.

    “Everything I’ve told you is completely true; I’ve got nothing to hide,” Simmance said in one of three interviews.

    Yeah, we’ve never heard that before, have we? It seems it’s not the first time Simmancew has pulled this shit. A previous article in Military.com which has apparently been pulled (but the cache copy still exists) shows that he was trying to scam the VA;

    The 31-year-old entered a free fall in 2006, when he started experiencing service-related mental illness. He lost a $65,000-a-year job, his apartment and his truck while living in Seattle.

    When he returned home to Buffalo Niagara and sought help from the local Veterans Affairs office, he said he was told his discharge papers were not in order and he was ineligible for help. Simmance said he was turned down twice for treatment at the VA’s Batavia residential facility for post-traumatic stress disorder.

    “The kicker is, I have my official U.S. military passport with all the stamps of the countries I was in overseas, and the Batavia hospital didn’t even want to look at it,” he said. “I served in the Middle East in 2001 with an international peacekeeping force and saw combat.”

    I wonder why the hospital didn’t want to look at his “official military passport”. I mean, we all needed a passport to go to combat, right? In fact, when we invaded Iraq in 1991, the whole division had to go through Iraqi customs to make sure we weren’t bringing any plant matter or pets in with us.

  • Armando Cordoba busted

    Back in September, we mentioned a Stolen Valor case that our buddy, JD at Professional Soldiers, was working on, in regards to Armando Cordoba (sounds like a cabana boy, doesn’t he?). Armando claimed in a local newspaper that he had been a POW of the North vietnamese Army.

    Average NCO sends us a link to that newspaper’s correction today;

    That information now appears to be inaccurate. Information obtained through a Freedom of Information Act Request through the National Archives show that Cordoba did serve honorably in Vietnam – earning a National Defense Service Medal, a Combat Infantryman Badge, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, 2 Overseas Bars and a Sharpshooter certification with the M14 Rifle.

    It shows no awarding of a Purple Heart, Bronze Star or Silver Star, or shows a designation as either an Army Special Forces Soldier (Green Beret) or a Prisoner of War.

    So how easy it is to get the information, journalists? Only it’s much more painless if you get the proof BEFORE you publish.

  • Ashleigh Martel: Stolen Valor

    I wanted to do a follow up on the post Jonn made. First thing I found was this link to when she was deployed with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad. List the same name and MOS.

    Then I started to find these fun links, starting with this one. She was part of the other named Veteran’s in Jonn’s post. In the video she is making the claims that she was injured in Iraq.

    Iraq War veteran Ashleigh Martel was told she would never speak again after shrapnel slit her throat. Now that her voice has returned, she vows to use it to educate others.

    She is working at theKern County Veteran Services Department as of Nov 11th 2011. Also she was acting the part when Osama’s death was announced. Her part is at the end of the video.

    “There’s a lot that still needs to be done, but I think this will give a lot of closure. I know personally for myself it will give closure for some of the things I’ve dealt with,” said Ashleigh Martel, a veteran.

    She was even asked to be a guest speaker because of her having a alleged Purple Heart.

    Yep, so with her MOS I wonder if there is anything else that the has faked on her records.

  • Yet another female phony

    Stinger Wooten sends us a link to an article from Bakersfield Now about another female phony soldier, by the name of Ashleigh Martel;

    Eyewitness News obtained Martel’s discharge document, or DD-214. It confirms she left the Army in April 2009 and does not list a Purple Heart among her medals. She [sic] closest match is a Combat Action Badge.

    Also, a Veterans Affairs document shows “no evidence of a head injury” and “no evidence of hospitalization.”

    Staat said it took an emotionally draining three-hour conversation with Martel to get the truth from her.

    Apparently, she defrauded local charities of over 6 thousand bucks.

    The Wounded Heroes Fund has not decided whether to pursue legal action.

    Do it…why think it over?
