  • Following up on Camacho

    Scott Funk who manages Military Minds page on Facebook sends us an email that he also posted in the comments;

    As soon as Military Minds started receiving information from Marines about his suspicious behaviour we contacted the FBI. Our sources are reporting that Brian was arrested yesterday.

    Brian initially contacted Military Minds claiming to be on the verge of suicide, and he was extremely convincing. I admit we were naive and ignored our gut feeling that something was up. I suppose we just figured that someone wouldn’t actually go through with something like this, if they were aware it would be broadcast for the world to see.

    We are an organization made up of combat Veterans and our only intention is to give a voice and support to our brothers that need it. We were fooled in this situation and from this point forward rigorous background checks will be made.

    In a subsequent email, he amended the part where he claimed that Camacho had been arrested with this email;

    I would like to amend the point about him being arrested yesterday if you are going to be posting this, as that has not yet been confirmed. You can say that Military Minds is working with the FBI to bring Camacho to justice.

    Thank you for trying to set the record straight in this situation.

    He promises that you can follow the events surrounding Camacho’s future on his Facebook page. I wrote back that, although it was irresponsible of them to make Camacho their poster child, it is still Camacho’s fault. I also told him that real veterans don’t mind showing their DD214s to prove their service, so they shouldn’t be hesitant to ask.

    Real veterans deserve the service that they provide and they should dedicate themselves to that goal – meaning they should check their clientele as closely as the entire internet community seems to do.

    I’m hoping they slap this dick in a cell ASAP.

  • 1SG Camacho is a fraud

    Someone sent me this video on Facebook last night of a guy claiming to be First Sergeant Brian Comacho. You can see he’s wearing First Sergeant rank on his jacket;

    “1st Sgt. Camacho, USMC” is a fraud from Rubio Films on Vimeo.

    “1st Sgt. Camacho, USMC” is a fraud from Rubio Films on Vimeo.

    The video was produced by a group calling themselves “Wounded Minds” who also flew Camacho from Pennsylvania to Toronto for treatment for his PTSD. The video had 20,000 hits in the first day. Wounded Minds posted this picture of Camacho;

    Comacho

    I’m sure most of you Marines had first sergeants whose pants cuffs were dragging on the floor. Or not. According to Vimeo, Marines came out in droves and said this guy was no first sergeant and that he was a complete fraud.

    All indications point to fraudulent criminal misrepresentation and is currently under investigation.

    Early unconfirmed reports indicate an arrest has been made.

    Military Minds seems upset that they were too eager to find someone who will tell them what they wanted to hear;

    We are a community of soldiers and civilians dedicated to PTSD awareness. The statistics on this terrible condition is both sad and alarming. When we heard an alleged US Marine cry for help, we saw no borders and offered assistance immediately.

    If the allegations against the validity of the claims made in the video prove to be true we will make sure that the person(s) involved are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. All monies will be reimbursed completely or paid forward at your request.

    We are immediately implementing safeguards to prevent such unfortunate eventualities moving forward. Our grassroots movement is strong, but far from perfect. We rely on our community more than ever. Help us through this.

    We would like to thank the impassioned few who voiced their opinions and thank those who stand by our side during these difficult times.

    Yeah, well, that’s all well and good, but someone should have asked for some paperwork before they leaped in with both feet. I’m sure there will be more instances of fraud like this because, as with IVAW, the do-gooders need poster boys for their particular cause more than they need actual people suffering from PTSD. There’s money involved, so there will be malfeasance involved in the issue.

  • The round Marine

    Updated; We found him.

    Chris sent us this picture so we can put out an APB on the turd roller;

    He looks like may have eaten a Marine once, in fact there might a couple buried in his neck fat. What’s with the phonies thinking they can get away with wearing the SEAL Trident lately? And isn’t the EOD badge an Army badge? I guess the boy thinks he can mix and match service appurtenances like Soup.

    Anyway, someone must know this guy out there. We need a name and an address so we can pull his records and embarrass the shit out of him. But we’ll never be able to embarrass him as much as he’s embarrassed us.

    Updated; We found him.

  • Ballduster McSoulpatch autopsy

    For those of you who thought he’d faked his death, we present Ballduster McSoulpatch‘s autopsy. TSO’s preliminary evaluation was “chokes on dick”, that appears to be not the case, at least not directly;

    Thanks to Blackfive for forwarding this to us.

  • Chad and Rhail Show tonight

    Nelson wrote to tell us that the Chad and Rhail Show will be on at about 8:30 Eastern tonight. You can listen in at this link. For those who were around this weekend, you’ll remember Nelson who took on several Steve Jordans on Saturday. I’m sure there will be some discussion of the encounter on the show. Maybe Snake Turd will make another appearance. Be sure to tune in.

    I’m listening to the show now, so I’ll pass along that there’s a Language Warning.

  • Rendered speechless

    Someone sent this to TSO from Don Shipley’s Facebook pictures. There’s nothing I can say, except that he looks relatively familiar;

    ADDED: Today’s phony is dedicated to AFWife (I think, because she’s one of the few people on the internet I know by her real name), who is celebrating her birthday and asked for her own phony.

  • Steve Jordan on the radio revisited

    The other day, we did a post of Steve Jordan when he appeared on a local radio show. Apparently, the audio we had of that show was only half of the Chad n Rhail Show. The producer of the show, Nelson, sent us links to the rest of the show. Because Jordan is an ignorant f*ck with an austere vocabulary, there’s a Language Warning.

    Notice one of the callers mentioned you guys, but he got the name of the blog wrong. It’s not This IS Hell, buddy, it’s This AIN’T Hell, pal. I’m just glad he didn’t try to pronounce or spell my name. But the caller gave you guys props for your internet research.

    But, thanks, you guys at Chad n Rhail. If you’d drop off the link to your show, you might get a few more listeners, because we were big fans of that particular show.

  • Victimless Stolen Valor crime costs local taxpayers $3000

    Lancaster Online‘s Cindy Stauffer tells the story of a town that had to replace a plaque on their memorial to Vietnam Veterans because Donald E. Armold thought that his service outside of Vietnam earned him a spot on the bronze plaque.

    Armold also was the grand marshal of last year’s Marietta Memorial Day parade. His full-page bio in the parade program lists him as “VIETNAM VETERAN.”

    There is only one problem, and it’s a big one.

    Armold, 68, of Manheim Township, isn’t a Vietnam War veteran.

    He did serve in the U.S. Marines from 1961 until 1966, but never set foot in Vietnam, doing his service stateside and on cruises in the Mediterranean and in Guantanamo Bay.

    Amrold said he never claimed that he was a Vietnam veteran, but the committee says that they asked him five times if he was a Veteran of the war and he had replied in the affirmative. Of course, Amrold says he misunderstood the question;

    Armold [claims that] he told them only that he served during the war in an administrative capacity in New York, helping to discharge soldiers returning from Vietnam.

    Yeah the memorial says right at the top “Honoring All Who Served In Vietnam”. What part of “In” confused Amrold? He was busted by his friends who knew him in his community all of these years.

    So, should Amrold pay for his intentional malfeasance. he says that no one has asked him to pay for it, so I guess he won’t. And he’s not exactly ashamed of what he did;

    “I’m not embarrassed at all. I’m not the bad guy in this whole situation. I’m a very fine gentleman who does a fine job in everything I think I can do. I don’t lie about anything.”

    Yeah, we can tell. To borrow from George Costanza, “It’s not a lie if you believe it”.
