    Earl Phillip; not an Army Ranger

    Earl Phillip was a controversial Trump proponent in North Carolina during the 2016 election. Some folks accused him of brandishing a weapon and making threatening gestures, according to Heavy.

    He also claims to be an Army Ranger. Notice the Ranger Tab on his lapel in the picture above and the following;

    His entire military career was spent in the Maryland National Guard in the 175th Infantry Regiment, not to be confused with the 75th Ranger Regiment;

    No Ranger School, no Ranger Assignments.

  • Charles Sitton; phony Navy Cross recipient

    Charles Sitton; phony Navy Cross recipient

    Someone sent us their work on this Charles Sitton fellow who hands out a forged DD214 that says he earned the Navy Cross while he was snoopin’ and poopin’ in Vietnam;

    He also did an interview in his local press, The Suburbanite, claiming to be Navy Lieutenant and thrice wounded in combat;

    For the next three months he was commissioned to a PBR 523 as the commanding officer with an eight-man crew. Then he was on a PBF (Patrol Boat Fast) running recon insertion missions to North Vietnam. The PBF was an 80-foot boat that could do 62 knots on the water (approximately 70 mph).

    “The recon teams would take money and medicine in to persuade North Vietnamese to come over to the other side. They took the money and the medicine but didn’t change sides,” Sitton said.

    Sitton earned three Purple Heart medals while in Vietnam. The first was for a mortar fire attack in DaNang, South Vietnam. The second came when he was shot in the wrist while in Dong Hoi, North Vietnam while loading a wounded Marine aboard. When back in DaNang, he came under fire and was shot in the hand when returning fire which earned him the third Purple Heart.

    According to his actual records, he served on the USS Tombigbee (AOG-11), a Patapsco-class gasoline tanker, in the coastal waters of Vietnam in 1966 which earned him the Vietnam Service Medal;

    No Purple Hearts, no Lieutenant, no Navy Cross, no patrol boats.

  • Robert Livingston sentenced

    Robert Livingston sentenced

    We wrote about Robert Livingston late last year when the former mayor of Lakeland, Minnesota pleaded guilty to pretending to have a military career. He stole more than $137,000 in veteran healthcare and disability payments from the VA. He was sentenced to two years probation this week according to KSTP;

    He admitted to federal agents that he went through 35 drafts to make his fraudulent discharge papers look “believable” before submitting them to the Veterans Administration, according to court records.

    […]

    A dozen VFW members were in federal court in St. Paul as Livingston was sentenced.

    “Justice was denied today,” VFW member Darrin Ewing said. “He was not sentenced to jail for the crimes he committed. This sends a message anybody can steal from the government and get away with it.”

    […]

    But federal judge Paul A. Magnuson said prosecutors asking for 10 months of prison time despite Livingston’s numerous health issues was a case of the government “not having a heart.”

    “It’s not going to happen,” Magnuson said before putting Livingston on probation instead of sending him to prison.

  • Alex Wolpert is NOT a Marine Corps veteran

    Alex Wolpert is NOT a Marine Corps veteran

    Earlier this week, Alex Wolpert made headlines in Sacramento, California when he confronted an elderly Laotian immigrant who was wearing a camouflage T-shirt;

    The Laotian couple’s daughter, who first posted the video, explained that her father had just dropped off his wife and parked near 16th Street and Broadway in Sacramento. That’s when Alex Wolpert started yelling at him for wearing a camouflage T-shirt.

    “OK, he’s going to take it off,” the woman can be heard saying in the video.

    “My friends died! My friends died!” Wolpert yells.

    The couple’s daughter claims before the video started Wolpert had grabbed her father and threatened to kill him.

    Wolpert allegedly accused the man of being a Vietnamese communist. In truth, the man’s daughter says he actually served in the Vietnam War for Laos on the U.S. side.

    “I’m sorry,” the man’s wife says to Wolpert in the video.

    “I’m a Marine, I fought for my country. And this mother f—er is going to wear that sh–. No! No!” Wolpert yells angrily.

    We’ve been trying to find some active duty service for him all week, and we turned up nothing. Snake called USMC Manpower Management, Records and Performance branch this morning and according to them, Wolpert has never served in the Marine Corps in an active or Reserve capacity.

    Of course everyone is just taking Wolpert at his word that he’s a veteran.

    A Sacramento veteran has apologized for yelling at an elderly Laotian-American man and his wife this weekend over the immigrant man’s camouflage shirt.

    Video of the verbal assault was posted to social media Sunday by the Laotian couple’s child, Van Khon. It shows US Marine Corps veteran Alex Wolpert yelling at the elderly immigrant for wearing a camouflage shirt as the couple was walking near 16th Street and Broadway in Sacramento.

    Wolpert told Fox 40 that he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and is planning to admit himself to a rehabilitation center to get help.

    He suffers from something, alright. Whoever his caregiver is had better take him off the street before he gets injured. Nasty-looking piece of shit.

  • Marines & Mickey founder John Simpson sentenced

    Marines & Mickey founder John Simpson sentenced

    We wrote about John Simpson, the founder of the Marines & Mickey charity last year. He falsely claimed to be a Marine reconman and cheated a lot of people out of a lot of money. He was sentenced in Florida last week;

    John Simpson, a former Anderson County resident who was accused of lying about his military service after creating a charity called Marines & Mickey, received a nine-year prison sentence in Florida last week for sexually assaulting his former girlfriend.

    Simpson, 41, also will face a federal complaint in South Carolina, authorities said this week.

    Don Wood, a spokesman for the FBI field office in Columbia, said his agency has notified officials in Florida that Simpson needs to be brought back to South Carolina to face a federal complaint that has been lodged against him.

    Wood and a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office did not provide any additional details about the complaint. The Independent Mail previously reported that the FBI and Naval Criminal Investigative Service were conducting a joint investigation into complaints about the financial practices of Marines & Mickey.

    […]

    Robert Hines, Simpson’s criminal attorney in Florida, said Simpson accepted a negotiated plea that calls for him to serve nine years in state prison, followed by six years of probation. He also must register as a sex offender.

    Simpson was found guilty of burglary with assault or battery, obstructing justice, sexual assault, stalking and contempt of court for violating a domestic violence injunction, court records show.

  • Nonprofit to wear clothing other than military uniforms

    NBC Miami reports that a nonprofit organization, the Veterans and Patriots Citadel Incorporated, in reaction to charges of “Stolen Valor” has announced that they won’t be panhandling for donations in military uniforms.

    The change comes after the Miami-Dade County Commissioner’s Military Affairs Board sent a warning to the public, urging them to help veterans organizations but to also properly vet people collecting funds.

    The move comes after a former U.S. Marine confronted men in military-style uniforms asking for money at a Miami intersection in an alleged case of “Stolen Valor.”

    That’s as it should be – the military uniform isn’t a costume for hobos. No real veteran would think that it’s OK to shake a tin cup while wearing a military uniform.

  • Diomonte Demetrius Jean in the news

    Diomonte Demetrius Jean in the news

    Last year we wrote about Diomonte Demetrius Jean who pretended to be an Air Force PJ. He made the news in Florida this week when he was caught on Homestead Air Reserve Base pretending to be an airman

    Jean’s godmother says he has pretended to be in the military for years, worn fatigues and even talked about going off to training.

    Brian Entin: “Is he believable?”

    Talmecia Minnis: “Very. Very convincing.”

    She says the latest incident took things to another level.

    Talmecia Minnis: “It’s escalating bad. Very bad.”

    Last year, Jean was arrested in Florida City for openly carrying a gun that was reported stolen. In his arrest report, an officer wrote Jean said he got the gun from a “friend” when they “…were shooting in the military base.”

    And, in a court document, Jean listed his address as “Homestead Air Reserve Base.”

    We found Diomonte Jean at a house in Florida City.

    Brian: “Diomonte Jean?” (Jean shakes his head no.)

    At first he denied who he was — but then agreed to talk.

    Brian Entin: “How were you able to get on the base?”

    Diomonte Jean: “How was I able to get on the base?”

    Brian Entin: “Yeah, not being in the military. How were you able to sneak on the base?”

    Diomonte Jean: “Civil Air Patrol.”

    His latest Facebook page says he works for an Air Force ROTC detachment;

    I’m guessing that he will never stop until he gets shot for forcing his way on base.
