    Lucky Strike

Storm chaser and Your Shot photographer Vanessa Neufeld captured this scene in Keyes, Oklahoma. The day before she was to fly home, she and her fellow chasers “thought we’d go for one last chase and hope for something more than just a squall line,” she remembers. “As the evening descended, so did a barrage of lightning in northwest Oklahoma. ”

    The Blues

The city of Chefchaouen, in northwest Morocco, features many buildings painted blue. According to legend, the practice of blue buildings dates back to the 15th century, when Jews fled the Spanish Inquisition and settled in Chefchaouen. In the Jewish faith, blue reminds worshippers of the sky, and therefore, God.

If you’ve been wondering why you haven’t heard from Dallas Wittgenfeld in recent days, it seems that he was briefly a guest of the State of Maryland, but it appears that he bonded out so he should be back at his antics soon. We haven’t located his mugshot from his most recent vacation, so if you find it, I’d love to have a copy.

    Iron Grid

Outside of Katowice, in southwest Poland, Your Shot photographer Mariusz Pietranek used a drone to capture an aerial shot of sedimentation tanks at an ironworks.

Just a reminder that July is the month that we pay rent for our place on the internet for the next year, so any spare change you can send our way would be appreciated.

    Across the Bridge

Your Shot photographer T. Sweetman used a drone to photograph this bridge in Chiang Mai, Thailand. In this moment, he captured the sight of two elderly people riding scooters over the Ping River.

    In Your Face

Your Shot photographer Shane Gross wanted to get up close and personal with Caribbean reef sharks. He knew the sharks shy away from people, so he got inventive. “I placed my camera on a rock where I know they frequent,” he says, “and used a remote trigger to click away as they came in and bumped my camera around.”

    Seeing Eye-to-Eye

A male orangutan makes eye contact with the camera. The cheek pads, called flanges, make male orangutans more desirable to females. Recent studies show that the flanges can sometimes take 20 years to appear, but their growth is directly related to testosterone levels.

Just a warning; You know how much I hate to beg, but our rent comes due on July 5th so I’m going to be begging next month. Some wonderful soul gave us $2000 towards that goal already. I’m not asking for donations that big, all it would take is one dollar from each person who visits on a single day for us to pay the $7200/year fee for our server. I get a $1200 discount because I make a single payment every July on my credit card, which brings it down to $6000/year. So anything you can give next month would be a help. I’m telling you now to give you time to dig that change out from between your couch cushions.

    Bearing the Load

In Bangladesh, a worker in a brickyard carries stacks of bricks out from the kiln. The nation is growing rapidly, and the need for construction materials is constant.

    Wave of Sand

Your Shot photographer Danny Sepkowski admits that setting up his camera on a shore break is “not the safest thing to do.” But he got this incredible shot of sand being sucked up into a wave by photographing with a 100mm lens. “Shooting with a macro lens has taught me patience and composition as well,” he says. “The detail that this lens has is next level, and so are the beatings that I take with it!”

You guys would be doing me a great favor if you’d STOP SENDING ME PICTURES OF BRADLEY MANNING’S NEW LOOK. Just seeing the sick fuck makes me ill – like Bruce Jenner’s photos. I’m not putting these sick morons’ photos on my website. Last time I checked, this is still America and I don’t have to promote or fake an acceptance of a deviant lifestyle if I don’t want. It’s bad enough that the Palm Center spams my inbox with their propaganda. Thanks for the tips, but, no, I’m not posting pictures of Bradley Manning in his makeup. Google the image if you want, but you won’t see it here.
