    John Kerry surprises the world that he’s an idiot

    john_kerry_arrested

    The other day, Josh Rogin, a reporter for the Daily Beast, sneaked into a meeting of the Trilateral Commission in Washington on Friday and recorded our Secretary of State, John Kerry, when he threatened that Israel will be considered “an apartheid state” if they don’t capitulate to the Palestinian terrorists, Hamas, and adopt a two-state solution. Of course, he didn’t mention that Hamas doesn’t recognize Israel as a legitimate state, so what would be the point.

    But, that commission meeting was supposed to be closed to reporters, according to Politico and if Rogan hadn’t sneaked into that meeting, we wouldn’t know what Kerry was saying about our foreign policy behind our backs. Well, Kerry has begun to back away from those comments. From the State Department website;

    I will not allow my commitment to Israel to be questioned by anyone, particularly for partisan, political purposes, so I want to be crystal clear about what I believe and what I don’t believe.

    First, Israel is a vibrant democracy and I do not believe, nor have I ever stated, publicly or privately, that Israel is an apartheid state or that it intends to become one. Anyone who knows anything about me knows that without a shred of doubt.

    Second, I have been around long enough to also know the power of words to create a misimpression, even when unintentional, and if I could rewind the tape, I would have chosen a different word to describe my firm belief that the only way in the long term to have a Jewish state and two nations and two peoples living side by side in peace and security is through a two state solution.

    Yeah, well, you can’t rewind the tape, Horseface. You said what you said and we got a glimpse of what you really think about the only democracy in the Middle East. So, some Senators, specifically Ted Cruz, are now calling for Kerry’s resignation;

    The Texas GOP senator said he read Kerry’s comments with “great sadness” but that those type of remarks are precisely why he voted against the former Massachusetts senator’s nomination last year.

    Yeah, but how many Republican Senators knew that Kerry was an irrational ideologue and confirmed his appointment anyway? They blocked John Bolton’s appointment as ambassador to the United Nations, but confirmed Kerry? Why is everyone so surprised that Kerry went off the rails? He’s been off the rails since 1971. Cruz is right that he shouldn’t have been confirmed in the first place, but the damage is done.

  • Taliban wants to release Bergdahl, but….

    Taliban wants to release Bergdahl, but….

    bowe-bergdahl

    The Associated Press reports that the Taliban is ready to deal in regards to the release of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, the soldiers who has been their prisoner for five years, but they can’t find anyone to deal with to secure his release;

    Bergdahl’s captors are anxious to release him, according to a defense official and a military officer, who both spoke to The Associated Press only on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case publicly.

    “Elements in all echelons — from the top of the Taliban down to the folks holding Bergdahl — are reaching out to make a deal,” the defense official said.

    The military officer, who said the effort was marred by distrust on both sides, said those holding Bergdahl have indicated what they would be willing to do to prove to the U.S. government that they want to deal, but that the U.S. has not formally responded to that outreach.

    This is not my shocked face. While I don’t completely believe the Taliban or the Haqqani network, or whoever, I do get the sense that this administration’s clown car ride of diplomats, led by John Kerry, are more than capable of screwing this up beyond recognition. Of course, the Taliban could always drop him off in a basket, wrapped in swaddling clothes at a local mosque if they really wanted to get rid of him that bad.

  • White House rejects Crimea vote

    Ukraine Vote

    According to the Associated Press, before the votes in Crimea has been tallied, the White House was complaining about the results;

    Even before official results were announced, the White House denounced the vote on Crimea joining Russia, saying it violated Ukraine’s constitution and international law and was held under “threats of violence and intimidation from a Russian military intervention.”

    It said “no decisions should be made about the future of Ukraine without the Ukrainian government” and noted that Russia had rejected the deployment of international monitors in Crimea to ensure the rights of ethnic Russians there were protected.

    So, I guess this administration found a constitution that it likes and it happens to be the Ukraine’s constitution. Too bad it wasn’t our Constitution for a change. But Secretary of State John Kerry threatened that the US will now “impose penalties” on Russia. I guess we’ll block the export of KFC’s 11 herbs and spices and rock music. Maybe we’ll airdrop Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus into Red Square and start a twerking frenzy from which the Russians can never recover.

    Kerry expressed “strong concerns”, but he was careful to say that the matter can only be settled politically (ie. no threats of military force). Funny how when you act like a pussy, everyone treats you like one, eh?

  • Breaking: John Kerry was in the Vietnam War

    Yes, I know, you’re probably shocked because you’d never heard before that Secretary of State John Kerry was in Vietnam during our war there, but, yes, it’s true. The Daily Caller reveals that Kerry himself admitted as much in a interview with Jake Tapper of CNN when discussing the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, in regards to an Israeli cabinet member who criticize some of Kerry’s remarks, Kerry tells Tapper;

    And, you know, words — I have to tell you, my friend, I’ve been, quote, attacked before by people using real bullets, not words, and I am not going to be intimidated.

    The remark is made in the final ten seconds of this video which autostarts after the jump;

  • Kerry: the al-Qaeda threat is real, it is getting out of hand

    Bloomberg reports that the veil has slipped on the Obama Administration’s lackadaisical approach to the Middle East, in general, and Syria in particular. Secretary of State John Kerry briefed some Senators, apparently getting a feel for how they would react to “greater engagement” in Syria. Unfortunately for Kerry the crowd included hawks Graham and McCain who leaked some of Kerry’s remarks to the media;

    According to Graham, Kerry gave the clear impression that Syria is slipping out of control. He said Kerry told the delegation that, “the al-Qaeda threat is real, it is getting out of hand.” The secretary, he said, raised the threat of al-Qaeda unprompted. “He acknowledged that the chemical weapons [delivery] is being slow-rolled; the Russians continue to supply arms [and that] we are at a point now where we are going to have to change our strategy. He openly talked about supporting arming the rebels. He openly talked about forming a coalition against al-Qaeda because it’s a direct threat.”

    “I would not characterize what he said as a plea for a new policy, but that, in light of recent, dramatic developments, the administration is exploring possible new directions,” said one Democratic House member who was in the meeting. “He wasn’t arguing so much that the administration needs a new policy, but that the administration is considering a range of options based on recent developments.”

    Kerry’s solution is that we should begin arming “moderate” influences in Syria, but, ya know, I don’t see any “moderate” people in a civil war, particularly that civil war. I’d prefer that they are all armed with AK-47s, so we know which ones to shoot when this all blows up in our faces in a few years.

    I’ve been on this planet long enough to know that whatever the US does is going to make us look bad in the end – so lets do thing that doesn’t provide a future enemy with the arms to use against our troops. If you want to drone a couple of al Qaeda training camps, I can get on board with that. We’ll look bad, but there will be fewer people on the planet screaming at us. And they’ll only have the same or fewer number of weapons that they had before we droned them.

    But the Obama Administration has been painting this rosy picture of al Qaeda being rolled back around the world, and they expected us to believe that, while they didn’t even believe it themselves. So much for that “most transparent administration ever” thing.

  • Syria gas attacks; White House data faulty

    Richard sends us a link to a McClatchy article which reports that weapons experts have determined that the GRAD rockets used in the chemical attacks in Syria last year couldn’t have been launched by the Syrian government, given the range of those rockets and the distance from the target of government forces;

    In the report, titled “Possible Implications of Faulty U.S. Technical Intelligence,” Richard Lloyd, a former United Nations weapons inspector, and Theodore Postol, a professor of science, technology and national security policy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, argue that the question about the rocket’s range indicates a major weakness in the case for military action initially pressed by Obama administration officials.

    […]

    To emphasize their point, the authors used a map produced by the White House that showed which areas were under government and rebel control on Aug. 21 and where the chemical weapons attack occurred. Drawing circles around Zamalka to show the range from which the rocket could have come, the authors conclude that all of the likely launching points were in rebel-held areas or areas that were in dispute. The area securely in government hands was miles from the possible launch zones.

    […]

    “I honestly have no idea what happened,” Postol said. “My view when I started this process was that it couldn’t be anything but the Syrian government behind the attack. But now I’m not sure of anything. The administration narrative was not even close to reality. Our intelligence cannot possibly be correct.”

    But the Obama Administration was in a “rush to war” to prop up flagging approval ratings, they really didn’t have time to worry about those pesky facts-thingies. Of course, McClatchy has to mention the Bush “rush to war” which took more than a year-and-a-half, and the “faulty intelligence” that led to the Iraq War in 2003. But there’s no real comparison. The whole world thought that Hussein had a chemical weapons capabilty, and there has been NBC material removed from Iraq that hardly gets a mention in the media. The Obama Administration wanted to bomb Syrian government forces real bad, but being the incompetent boobs that are advising this bunch, they ignore evidence all of the time and they arrive at the wrong solutions every time. But then they’ve got Joe Bite Me and John Kerry to lead their way – the most incompetent boobs on the planet.

  • Kerry: Poverty causes terrorism

    I guess John Kerry, who was in the Vietnam war, is so steeped in his Leftist dogma that he can’t even bring himself to admit that most terrorism in the world is caused by indoctrination. But, in a press release from the State Department, he tells how he discussed poverty with the Secretary of State of the Holy See as the root cause of terrorism in the world;

    We talked about the common interest of Pope Francis and President Obama in addressing poverty and extreme poverty on a global basis. The United States of America is deeply involved in efforts in Africa and in other parts of the world – in Asia, South Central Asia – to address this poverty, as is the Catholic Church. And so we have a huge common interest in dealing with this issue of poverty, which in many cases is the root cause of terrorism or even the root cause of the disenfranchisement of millions of people on this planet.

    Emphasis is mine.

    Yeah, because poverty is why millionaire Osama bin Laden declared war on the US – most of his capos are university-educated and former professionals. But, I guess that the Liberal-speak took over his brain and he couldn’t help but link the war against terror to poverty – like it’s someone else’s fault, and not his for undermining the war in Iraq and Afganistan.

  • Those rational actors in Iran

    So, we’re being told that we can trust what those folks over in Iran tell us. I’m beginning to think not. NBC News, in a link sent to us by Pinto Nag, they report that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani told a crowd that the West “surrendered” to Iranian power in Geneva;

    Speaking to a crowd gathered in the oil-rich province of Khuzestan on Tuesday, Rouhani said: “Do you know what the Geneva agreement means? It means the big powers have surrendered before the great Iranian nation.”

    The remarks, which were filmed and reported by the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran News Network, were echoed on Rouhani’s English-language Twitter feed.

    “Our relationship w/ the world is based on Iranian nation’s interests. In #Geneva agreement world powers surrendered to Iranian nation’s will,” the Tweet said.

    Of course, as it’s been said here countless times, any negotiation between anyone in that region and the West is perceived as a great victory by those goat herders. Meanwhile, the Washington Post reports that the government media organ in Iran is reporting the totally legit news that the US is secretly run by Nazi Space Aliens;

    On Sunday, the hard-line semi-official Fars News dropped one of its biggest bombshells yet: The United States government has been secretly run by a “shadow government” of space aliens since 1945. Yes, space aliens. The alien government is based out of Nevada and had previously run Nazi Germany. It adds, for timeliness, that the controversial NSA programs are actually a tool for the aliens to hide their presence on Earth and their secret agenda for global domination. This is all asserted as incontrovertible fact with no caveats.

    Um, where have we heard that before? Oh, yeah, those whackjobs at Veterans Today, which coincidentally, gets much of it’s funding from PressTV, the Iran government’s news organization for the slick-looking website largely bereft of serious intellect.

    But, yeah, let’s lift sanctions against the mullahs, because they seem harmless and completely rational. And, everything this administration, generally, and John Kerry specifically, touch turns to gold, right?
