  • IVAW in WI

    Wes Davey

    TSO sent me a link from the Iraq Veterans Against the War website to a report from Wes Davey, the Herbert the Pervert of IVAW. Here’s the video;

    And Davey’s report;

    I was in Madison on Saturday when Iraq Veterans Against the War group was invited to speak. The crowd went crazy when we filed into the rotunda of the Wisconsin State Capital that evening, all of them cheering our small group on.

    As we each took a brief turn speaking, the entire crowd roared its approval and the sound was deafening; you could’ve heard the noise miles away from the rotunda. Except for the RNC protests, I’ve never witnessed this kind of approval of our message before.

    Driving home that night, I felt that the crowd response was a validation of all that we had been trying to do since IVAW was formed too many years ago, a repudiation of the past where we had been accused of being unpatriotic, and that people finally got our message. And it felt good.

    It’s nice to see that IVAW can keep it’s focus on veteran issues and not get mixed up in something that has absolutely nothing to do with veterans. Oh, wait, I got that backwards.

    Speaking of IVAW, Zedechek sends us a photo of Robynn Murray on the red carpet of the Oscars the other day;

  • Travis Bishop, American Idol

    I guess being a deserter and an ex-con wasn’t paying off for IVAW’s Travis Bishop;
    (more…)

  • Our newest fan

    One of our ninjas sent us this screen shot of some smelly hippies who Google their names and land on my weekend post;

    I don’t mind being called a douche, but at least they could characterize the conversation correctly. Honestly, I don’t see anyone calling for the murder of Egyptian protesters. But I doubt the literacy of any chick who tried to get laid by anyone in the IVAW and failed. Every. Single. Time.

    I guess I don’t need to mention that she’s a member of the ISO. And, oh, I’m a xenophobe.

  • “Loose Change” producer arrested for drugs

    Old Trooper and 1stCavRVN11B sent us links to articles (Fox News and Free Republic)about Army veteran Korey Rowe, one of the producers for the “Loose Change” 9-11 conspiracy film who was arrested for selling drugs to an undercover cop in his hometown, Oneonta, NY;

    Oneonta police tell the Daily Star of Oneonta that 27-year-old Korey Rowe and a 19-year-old Bronx man were arrested after selling packets of heroin to an undercover officer.

    Rowe was arraigned last Friday on a felony count of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

    Authorities say the Oneonta resident was released from Otsego County Jail after posting $10,000 cash bail.

    According to Wikipedia, Rowe went AWOL from his unit, 187 infantry Regiment at Fort Campbell. Wasn’t that Brandon Friedman’s (VoteVet’s Beeker) unit, too?

    On July 23, 2007, he was arrested at his home in Oneonta, New York, based on a military warrant charging him with felony desertion. Two days later he was returned to his unit at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, although he states that he received an honorable discharge and returned to uniform of his own accord, and that he is attempting to expunge his name completely from the system.

    Rowe was at the end of his active-duty enlistment in the summer of 2005 when he was told his unit would be re-deployed to Iraq. Because of stop-loss policy, soldiers may be kept beyond their normal tour of duty. Rowe’s unit, the 187th Infantry Regiment, was due to return to Iraq in August 2007, but was eventually granted release.

    I guess he didn’t get to join Iraq Veterans Against the War because he’d actually deployed a few times and set foot in Iraq.

  • Protesting from a safe distance

    Someone sent me this video of a protest or something in Austin in support of the riots in Egypt;

    Hundreds show solidarity with Egypt: kxan.com

    A couple of things bother me about the video. One is that Karen Burke, an IVAW groupie, appears in the video. I wonder what her involvement is all about. Another thing that bothers me are these quotes from some interviewees;

    “I love my country so much and I wanted to stand by my country,” said 7-year-old daughter Laila Tousson.

    “I’m sending a message to my friends and family in Egypt saying you know we support you. Stay safe, be patient. It’s going to change. It takes a while but there’s a price to pay,” said Tarek Tousson.

    “My country”? Then what are you doing here, protected by our tax dollars and Constitution? “…there’s a price to pay”? But not a price you’re willing to pay yourself, but others “should be patient” and continue to sacrifice while you sit in Austin, soaking up the sun and eating Whattaburgers? Nice. Carry your Egyptian ass back over there and fight for “your country” instead of cluttering up our sidewalks with your lazy, ungrateful ass.

    I’ve noticed that the riots in the streets of Egypt have taken an anti-American tone, for no good reason, well, other than the fact that declaring your movement anti-American will get you more support from this administration than declaring your movement a pro-American movement. I guess that’s why you can find fat-ass IVAW groupies at pro-riot rallies.

  • At the intersection of Stupid Street and Lunatic Lane

    TSO sent me a link to a Veterans Today article supporting Iraq Veterans Against the War’s stand that “President Showed He Is out of Touch with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans“. How is he “out of touch”? Well because;

    …the [SOTU] speech showed the president is out of touch with the rough reality facing veterans, and failed to produce a plan to address their needs. Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) represents the voices of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans with bold solutions to cut the human and financial costs of war by meeting veterans’ needs that the president ignored.

    President Obama grossly understated the heavy toll that the Afghanistan and Iraq wars are baring on troops and the economy.

    And the troops needs?

    “The president said withdrawal from Afghanistan will start in July, but when will it end? Let’s bring all the troops home immediately and invest in the care they have earned,” said Zach Choate.

    Yup, that’s why we have an armed force, so we can withdraw in the middle of a war…like we’re Spain or something. We need an armed force that is sitting around hospital waiting rooms holding their heads in their palms.

    Of course, that seems perfectly normal for an organization that made of mostly deserters and quitters…led by head quitter Jose Vasquez who served for 14 years and then quit at the very moment he was supposed to deploy. A medic who couldn’t serve in a traditionally conscientious objector job.

    Oh, but IVAW and Veterans Today aren’t the only ones to be disappointed that we don’t just push our helicopters into the Persian Gulf for the cameras. VoteVets official statement on the SOTU address;

    …we still need to hear how the President plans to end counterinsurgency operations in Afghanistan. When so many are looking for leadership as it relates to our nation’s fiscal problems, it has become clear than an endless commitment to the conflict is something our country can no longer afford.

    Notice it’s “end counterinsurgency operations” not “win the war in Afghanistan”. Winning the war against terrorism isn’t anyone’s goal these days. It’s about how fast we can just disengage from a war we never started so they can kick the can down the road.

    There’s a lot of talk about saddling our kids with the national debt, but I don’t hear anyone talk about saddling our kids with wars we don’t have the guts to finish. My generation saddled this generation of soldiers with the war in the Middle East because we didn’t have the guts to end the wars there. Apparently this generation lacks the fortitude if you think that IVAW, Veterans Today and VoteVets represent this generation. Or are they just a handful of pussies who can’t think past the jars of urine they store in their refrigerators?

  • Shocking news, I know; hippies have sex

    TSO (of course) sends this link to a SkyNews article about undercover police officers in Europe using sex to get information from hippies there;

    The officer, who worked in a special unit of the Met Police for four years, said sexual relationships with activists were common among those gathering intelligence from anarchist, left-wing and environmental groups.

    “Everybody knew it was a very promiscuous lifestyle,” he is quoted as saying.

    Well, they’re not very intellectual, so you can probably expect them to be rooting around in each others’ drawers just to keep themselves busy. But like I said in Desert Storm after weeks without a shower, “I’m not sure I’d want sex with someone who wanted to have sex with me.”

    Rumors were that IVAW functioned the same way for several years. I heard there was lots of cross-pollination going on between the various species for some reason. Well, between that and storing their urine in the fridge.
