  • White House/Yoko Ono still want gun ban vote

    The other day, Harry Reid decided that he wouldn’t include a scary-looking gun ban in the Senate’s package of gun control regulations, mostly because of the midterm elections next year. A gun ban based on purely cosmetic features of weapons would most certainly cost the Democrats the Senate and House. But that doesn’t deter the White House and Joe Bite Me from trying to force a vote, according to The Hill;

    “I believe that the vast majority of the American people agree with us, the vast majority of gun owners agree with us, that military-style assault weapons are — these are weapons of war; they don’t belong in the street,” Biden said. “And [in] the recent decision declaring the right of someone to own a weapon in their home for self-protection, Justice [Antonin] Scalia acknowledged that you can constitutionally ban certain types of weapons. So I’m not going to give up on this.”

    […]

    On Tuesday White House chief of staff Denis McDonough said the White House would “find the votes” to pass the ban.

    Yeah, no they won’t. Meanwhile, Yoko Ono, the only ugly Asian woman on the planet exhumes memories of her murdered husband to force gun control on the country, according to the UK’s Daily Mail;

    ‘The death of a loved one is a hollowing experience. After 33 years our son Sean and I still miss him. Yoko Ono Lennon’

    Together, let’s bring back America, the green land of peace.’

    ‘31,537 people are killed by guns in the USA every year. We are turning this beautiful country into war zone,’ she tweeted.

    Yeah, well, if you don’t like the gun laws here, Yoko, you can always go somewhere else, ya know. The same with the rest of you boobs who claim to love this country, but want to change it into something entirely different. You can go to one of those “industrialized nations” that you think is so much better than the US, well, until you live there a few months and realize that they’re not as industrialized as you thought. And take Joe Bite Me with you, please.

  • Stalinesque Cuomo has a snitch line for gun enforcement

    The (Troy, NY) Record reports that the New York State Police have set up a snitch line for reporting newly illegal guns and magazines;

    NY State has established a toll-free tip line – 1-855-GUNXXXX (1-855-486-XXXX) to encourage residents to report illegal firearm possession. The tip line also allows for information to be submitted via text – individuals can text GUNXXXX and their message to CRIMES (27XXXX). The New York State Police staff the tip line 24 hours a day. Upon receiving a call, troopers will solicit as much information as possible regarding a firearm tip then contact the appropriate police agency with the lead to initiate an investigation. If the information leads to an arrest for the illegal possession of a firearm, the “tipster” will be awarded $500.

    Maybe they’ll get an extra crust of bread for their borscht, too. I’ve altered the numbers in the text above because I’m not taking part in this clear breach of the covenant between a government and it’s citizens. I also left out the link to the article for the same reason.

  • Hickenlooper signs Colorado gun bill

    NBC reports that Governor Hickenlooper signed the Colorado scary gun bill today. How do you figure you’re not electing a major dick when his name is Hickenlooper, anyway? You know he got the snot kicked out of him every day in grade school so he’s dead set on using his office to get back at the bullies;

    Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper signed landmark new gun laws on Wednesday expanding background checks on gun purchases and limiting the size of ammunition magazines, placing the traditionally firearm-friendly state among the handful to pass new restrictions in the wake of the shooting in Newtown, Conn.

    Anyway, Magpul Industries promised the other day on their Facebook page that it would take them about 30 days to produce their first magazine after they pulled up stakes and left Colorado;

    We have said all along that based on the legal problems and uncertainties in the bill, as well as general principle, we will have no choice but to leave if the Governor signs this into law. We will start our transition out of the state almost immediately, and we will prioritize moving magazine manufacturing operations first. We expect the first PMAGs to be made outside CO within 30 days of the signing, with the rest to follow in phases. We will likely become a multi-state operation as a result of this move, and not all locations have been selected.

    Colorado Republicans have promised to repeal the law once they kick out that guy with the funny name;

    “We’re all in shock here,” state Senator Greg Brophy, a Republican, said on Wednesday. “It turns out this guy who everybody thought was a moderate Democrat is actually a gun-control governor.”

    “I think the governor will be replaced by someone who has Colorado values instead of New York City values,” Brophy said. “If Republicans are returned to control we will repeal these bills immediately.”

    There’s going to be a lot of that going around in the near future. That’s what happens when you pass laws without considering what the electorate has to say.

  • It Was Games More than Guns

    The New York Daily News has an article up by reporter, Mike Lupica, which makes the case that it was an obsession with violent video gaming and past mass killings that drove Adam Lanza to commit the Newtown slaughter. Guns were just the means to an end, means apparently facilitated by a fatally unwitting mother. According to an unnamed cop who attended a police conference in New Orleans back in December, one of the conference speakers, Col. Danny Stebbins of the Connecticut State Police, revealed that Lanza had long been planning a cold-blooded massacre and had an extensive spreadsheet of previous mass killings in which he apparently was tracking the high-scorers, as in video gaming. The unidentified source is quoted:

    “They don’t believe this was just a spreadsheet. They believe it was a score sheet,” he continued. “This was the work of a video gamer, and that it was his intent to put his own name at the very top of that list. They believe that he picked an elementary school because he felt it was a point of least resistance, where he could rack up the greatest number of kills. That’s what (the Connecticut police) believe.”

    The man paused and said, “They believe that (Lanza) believed that it was the way to pick up the easiest points. It’s why he didn’t want to be killed by law enforcement. In the code of a gamer, even a deranged gamer like this little bastard, if somebody else kills you, they get your points. They believe that’s why he killed himself.

    “They have pictures from two years before, with the guy all strapped with weapons, posing with a pistol to his head. That’s the thing you have to understand: He had this laid out for years before.”

    As we responsible gun owners have been saying since this tragedy occurred and the gun-grabbing Democrats began using it as an emotional driver for their campaigns, the shooter picked an elementary school precisely because it was a liberal-declared, gun-free zone where he had the best chance of racking up a higher score. Go read the article then email a copy to your gun-grabbing state legislators, congressmen and senators.

  • Feinstein’s enemies are powerful, she says

    The Washington Times reports that poor old Dianne Feinstein is more thn a little miffed that her scary-looking weapon ban won’t be part of the gun control bill in the Senate this year;

    “I’m not going to try to put something on the floor that won’t succeed,” the Nevada Democrat [Harry Reid] told reporters. “I want something that will succeed. I think the worst of all worlds would be to bring something to the floor and it dies there.”

    Mr. Reid informed Mrs. Feinstein, California Democrat, on Monday that her legislation would not be part of the package.

    “I tried to make the case for it, and he indicated we would have a separate vote,” Mrs. Feinstein said. “Obviously I’m disappointed. … The enemies on this are very powerful. I’ve known that all my life.”

    Those “enemies”, Mrs. Feinstein, are the majority of the American people. We’re supported by the Second Amendment of the Constitution which was written to protect us from petty tyrants like you. If America wanted the scary-looking gun ban, you’d have no problem getting it through the Senate.

    Yes, the NRA has a lot of money to oppose you and your nefarious intentions, but, it’s our money. We gave it freely in order to keep you and your gun-grabbing fascist buddies in their place. Obviously, you react to purely emotional circumstances, not to the will of the voters, so we need the NRA to stop you dead in your tracks when you seek to impose your will on the rest of us.

    Most of us don’t have the opportunity to remove your moldy ass from the Senate, so we depend on the NRA to preserve our rights from you and your ilk. Live with the will of the people or resign.

  • Feinstein’s scary gun ban booted by Reid

    According to Politico, Dianne Feinstein learned that her ban on scary-looking black rifles will not be part of the main gun control legislation in the Senate;

    After a meeting with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Monday, a frustrated Feinstein said she learned that the bill she sponsored — which bans 157 different models of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines — wouldn’t be part of a Democratic gun bill to be offered on the Senate floor. Instead, it can be offered as an amendment. But its exclusion from the package makes what was already an uphill battle an almost certain defeat.

    Of course, its only because Reid remembers the 1994 midterms when the Democrats lost the majority in Congress for the first time in more than 50 years mainly because of the so-called assault weapon ban. Politico continues to speculate on whether or not Chuckie Schumer’s background checks legislation will be included in the package bill;

    A universal background checks bill with no exemptions was offered by Schumer in the Judiciary Committee and approved by the panel with only Democratic support. But it will not be part of the basic bill that comes to the floor, Democratic insiders said.

    […]

    There are additional versions of background checks bills being floated — and Manchin may soon introduce a version based on the talks with Coburn — but which one will get Reid’s blessing is up in the air.

    Whether these bills are passed or not, the damage to Democrats has been done. Gun owners might have fallen for the constant “we’re not coming for your guns” line we’ve heard over the past 12 years, but i don’t think they’ll fall for it again next year. The Democrats showed their hand in the post-election months and sooner or later, they’re coming for our guns.

  • Colion Noir for NRA News: Episode 1

    FB_403_ColionNoir-rv1[3][1]

    The folks at the NRA send us the first episode of their video series by new spokesman, Colion Noir;

    So the next time there’s a mass shooting and you start to feel a certain kind of way because the mass shooting forced you to confront your own vulnerabilities all of a sudden, feel free not to use the violence in the inner cities all of a sudden to bolster your gun control argument.

    Because before that violence came knocking on your front door, you didn’t care what happened in the inner cities. so don’t start caring now because you think it advances your agenda.

    And you know who’s the biggest offender? That’s right, I’m talking about you, Mr. President. Because, quite frankly, something just isn’t adding up.

    During your first term as president, you were silent on the issue of guns, even going so far as to say you won’t come for our guns.

    But in your second term, you donned your suit of Mr. Captain America of gun control to save the kids.

  • CO sheriff; new gun laws unenforceable

    The Washington Times reports that the Colorado legislature passed new rules regarding background checks – forcing private sellers to pay $10 to get a background check on the buyer;

    “Are going to stop all criminals from getting guns? No,” said Democratic Rep. Beth McCann, a sponsor of the background checks bill. “But are we are going to put a barrier there, make it more difficult for them? Yes.”

    Yeah, big barrier, bud. Meanwhile, the Greeley Tribune reports that Weld County sheriff, John Cooke, announced that he won’t enforce the new law, or the law passed earlier in the week which limited magazine capacity to 15-rounds;

    Cooke said Democratic lawmakers are uninformed but are scrambling in reaction to recent tragedies in the nation.

    “They’re feel-good, knee-jerk reactions that are unenforceable,” he said.

    Cooke said the bill requiring a $10 background check to legally transfer a gun would not keep firearms out of the hands of those who use them for violence.

    “Criminals are still going to get their guns,” he said.

    Cooke said the other bill would also technically ban all magazines because of a provision that outlaws any magazine that can be altered. He said all magazines can be altered to a higher capacity.

    Cooke said he, like other county sheriffs, “won’t bother enforcing” the laws because it will be impossible for them to keep track of how the requirements are being met by gun owners. He said he and other sheriffs are considering a lawsuit against the state to block the measures if they are signed into law.

    Well, it really doesn’t matter if law enforcement won’t prosecute the laws, what’s important is that law makers feel better about themselves. That they can go home at night and proclaim to their mirrors that they “did something” regardless of whether it accomplishes something or not.
