Well, it looks like that “global warming” is coming right along as we were warned. That must be why the French Antarctic Dumont d’Urville Station just recorded the coldest June on record for that location. The average temperature there during June 2014 was -22.4C (-8.3F). That’s 6.6C (11.9F) lower than normal. It’s also the second coldest month recorded there – ever.
June is the early part of the Antarctic winter. July and August are usually colder.
Austrailia is also seeing some of that “global warming”. Brisbane just recorded its coldest temperature in 103 years: 2.6C (36.7F).
Brisbane is at 27° 30′ 0″ S latitude. For comparison, the latitude of Sarasota, FL, is 27° 20′ 10″ N. Both are subtropical.
Yeah, it looks like they’re getting their share of that “global warming” in Australia, too.
Al Gore, of course, continues to insist that this is due to “global climate change” (he formerly warned it was “global warming”, but for some reason he doesn’t seem to use that phrase any more). He further insists that this is all is settled science, and that “”We’re way past time where it’s responsible for any national leader to reject the science behind the climate crisis.”
News flash for ya, Al: it’s beginning like that “global warming” you used to warn everyone about about just might not be a warming trend after all. If anything, the climate could well be changing – in the other direction.
Hmm. As I recall, that’s precisely what climate scientists were convinced was going to happen nearly 40 years ago. Then, everyone was warning us about the coming Ice Age.
While the northern hemisphere is approaching the height of summer, the southern hemisphere is approaching the depths of winter. Nothing new there.
“Learned scientists” keep telling us that the planet is overheating – fast. They say that overheating is a threat to the world.
So, someone please explain this to me. Why has the average Antarctic ice coverage been observed to be generally increasing since satellite data has been available for same in 1979? If the planet is warming, shouldn’t we be seeing a decrease in Antarctic sea ice?
And why do we see record Antarctic sea ice coverage today – a record which exceeds the previous measured maximum by more than 12.7%? And why is the global sea ice coverage worldwide today a bit more than 1 million sq km above historical average?
Ya know, sometimes I swear I think that these “learned scientists” are smoking rope. Or maybe eating “magic mushroom” pizza.
But maybe not. Perhaps they’re just ignoring hard data they don’t like. Or, maybe they’re just fudging data for fiscal for political reasons.
After all: “global warming” is the cause célèbre du jure. And nobody seems to be willing to fund anyone saying that the climate is cooling or staying roughly the same – or that we don’t have a clue as to what’s driving the climate in the first place.
I wish I were, and that this article of mine was fiction. Sadly, I’m not – and it isn’t.
DoD is buying “green fuels”. We all knew that. Hell, it’s one of this administration’s obsessions apparent means of political payback wealth redistribution mechanisms truly stupid ideas pet projects.
But this time, what DoD’s done IMO really takes the cake. Let me assure you – you don’t want to know what DoD has been paying for “green” jet fuel.
You probably need to know. But you don’t want to know.

If you really want to get p!ssed, follow the link and read it. If you have even two or more working brain cells and pay taxes I’m pretty sure you will be seriously angry after reading it.
And yeah – one of the guys heavily invested in the firm getting top dollar is a big donor to the current Administration’s political party.
Given what else is going on with the DoD budget these days, this is particularly galling to me. But maybe that’s just me.

Well, it looks like another “green vehicle” manufacturer is on the ropes. After taking taxpayers for the proverbial “sleigh ride in July” for tens of millions, of course.
Smith Electric Vehicles was touted as another “green” vehicle maker. It was to specialize in large electric vehicles suitable for commercial use. It originally announced plans to make over 500 such vehicles.
In return for $1.4 million in tax credits from Missouri, Smith promised to create 200+ new jobs. It’s hired 54 people to date.
Smith owes large sums to various creditors. The precise amount isn’t known, but since it includes a $30k+ debt to a Missouri university and six months’ back rent on 90,000 sq ft of space at the Kansas City airport, the total could easily be hundreds of thousands of dollars.
And it’s stopped production.
Of course, since this was one of the Administration’s pet “green” projects – the POTUS touted it publicly in a speech at the Kansas City airport 4 years ago – it got some $30+ million in Federal stimulus funds. Anyone surprised?
The Washington Examiner has a good article on Smith, its troubles, and its past problems (which go far beyond what I’ve listed here). It’s worth reading – providing you don’t have high blood pressure or anger management issues.
Yeah, looks like that “green” stimulus program worked out just swimmingly here. One could even be cynical and say it looks almost like a political payback or “make work” deal. But that can’t possibly be the case.
Still, what’s that old saying: “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck . . . . “
Well, it turns out it isn’t so “Green” after all.
A peer-reviewed study published in Nature Climate Change recently looked at alcohol produced from corn waste (e.g., cobs, stalks, leaves). These items are normally plowed under and allowed to decompose, thus enriching the soil for upcoming growing seasons, but can also be processed to produce alcohol.
The Federal government paid $500k for the study. And they probably won’t like the results.
Researchers conducting the study found that the corn-waste alcohol produced approximately 7 percent more greenhouse gases over the short-term than simply using gasoline instead. In other words: the so-called “Green” fuel is actually worse for the environment than using gasoline from crude oil.
Given this result, such fuel would not appear to qualify for the current Federal $1 per gallon subsidy necessary to make it price competitive, either.
Predictably, proponents – both industrial and environmentalists – of corn-waste biofuels have attacked the study. Now, what vested interest would make them do that?
Oh, yeah, I remember now why they’d attack the results: money. Your and my tax money, going to them or their pet causes.
Lots of tax money.

Yep, you read that right – the current Administration apparently now wants to regulate freaking cow farts. What’s the penalty for a violation – the offender gets turned into hamburger?
