  • LEOs troll social media for threats

    Reuters reports that law enforcement agencies are trying to learn how to prevent terrorist activity by trolling the internet, because apparently, criminals can’t shut up about committing their crimes in advance of their deeds;

    That’s not to say there have not been some successes. The LAPD, which employs around 40 people to monitor social media manually, uses software from a startup called PredPol Inc, which stands for predictive policing. The software analyzes LAPD and other internal police databases to identify crime-ridden areas and determine the best times to patrol.

    PredPol marketing manager Benjamin Hoehn said crime dropped around 20 percent within 10 months of deploying the system in Modesto, California, in January.

    The LAPD is also exploring the use of Geofeedia Inc, which incorporates user-location data as it crawls through sites from Twitter and Facebook to Google Inc’s YouTube and Yahoo Inc’s Flickr.

    The article says that the police depend on tips from the public, but, since there are so many people who are willing to cover up for their friends and family who are planning misbehavior, I’m sure that’s not a long-term plan. No one in my circle makes threats – well except those cowardly morons who makes threats against me – so I’m no help.

    NYPD arrests man for cell phone conversation

    Elvin Payamps

    The New York Post reports that Elvin Payamps was arrested when an ex-cop overheard a conversation he was having while standing in a bank in regards to his plans to kill a white cop;

    “I’m going to kill another cop. We should do it before Christmas. The cop should have been white that was killed. I always have a gun on me,” Elvin Payamps allegedly blabbed over his cellphone.

    After his arrest, Payamps, 38, allegedly confessed to the threat and said it was spurred by Saturday’s execution-style shootings of cops Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in Brooklyn, sources said.

    “They should have killed two white cops instead of the Hispanic and Asian if the guy really wanted to send a message,” Payamps allegedly said.

    After his arrest, police went to his apartment and found a 9mm handgun and a 12-gauge shotgun along with some body armor and brass knuckles, he stole the body armor, I guess. Some in the media are calling it “an arsenal of weapons.” According to the Post, Payamps had criminal contact with the police almost two decades ago.

    MSN reports that Payamps won’t be alone in his cell;

    At least six New Yorkers have been arrested for making threats against the NYPD since the assassination of two New York police officers in Brooklyn on Saturday, reports the New York Daily News. The department has been investigating at least 40 threats made against police officers in recent days.

  • Two NYPD cops murdered for revenge

    Two NYPD cops murdered for revenge

    Ismaaiyl Brinsley

    The New York Daily News reports that after posting a message about “putting wings on pigs” on Instagram, Ismaaiyl Brinsley walked out of his apartment building and opened up on a pair of NYPD police officers who were sitting in their patrol car. Brinsley then ran down into the Myrtle-Willoughby Aves. subway station and shot himself in the head;

    Brinsley is believed to be a member of a Baltimore gang, Black [Guerrilla] Family, sources said. The gang has vowed retribution for the deaths of [Eric] Garner and [Michael] Brown.

    According to the Daily News, Brinsley was wanted for questioning in the shooting of his girlfriend in Baltimore a few hours before he murdered the police officers. Al Sharpton said;

    “I have spoken to the Garner family and we are outraged by the early reports of the police killed in Brooklyn today,” said the Rev. Al Sharpton in a statement Saturday evening. “Any use of the names of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, in connection with any violence or killing of police, is reprehensible and against the pursuit of justice in both cases.

    The two murdered officers’ names haven’t been released yet.

  • Vet scammed by phony sheriff’s deputy

    Someone dropped off a link from Alabama local news about a scumbag who scammed $14000 from a World War II veteran. Apparently, the veteran was somehow scammed out of $5k a few months go, but never reported it. This phony sheriff’s deputy shows up and tells the veteran that he’s going to try and bust the first scammer;

    He asked the victim to withdraw $9,000 cash and additional $5,000 cashier’s check to use as “bait money” to catch the bad guys.

    The victim agreed after the man assured him his money would be returned.

    Deputies say the suspect rode with the victim as the elderly man withdrew the money from his bank. The suspect then asked to be dropped off down the street “in case they were being watched,” Christian said.

    The victim then picked up the suspect and was instructed to drive to a convenience store on Highway 150 and Raymond Muscoda Road, deputies said.

    When the two arrived at the location, the suspect took the check so he could “get fingerprints on it,” Christian said.

    After walking around the building, the suspect returned and gave the victim the check back. He then asked the man for the cash to repeat the process.

    The suspect took the victim’s cash and walked around the building, but did not return.

    The phony deputy is a serious POS. But, I have trouble understanding how the veteran would think he wasn’t being scammed again.

  • Can You Say, “Stonewall It”? Sure. I Knew You Could.

    Provided without comment, except to say that I’m shocked, shocked.

    Feds balk at releasing docs showing IRS
    sharing tax returns with White House

    “Most transparent administration in history?” Um-huh. Sure. Whatever.

    Yeah, your leg’s wet again. And it’s not rain.

  • Yeah, This IS Getting Interesting

    Remember that IRS scandal? You know, where the IRS was blatantly playing politics with nonprofit group applications for tax-exempt status – slow-rolling those from conservative groups, and fast-tracking those from liberal groups?

    Remember how that was supposed to be “IRS only”, with no involvement from the White House?

    Well, in response to a suit filed by Cause of Action (a government transparency watchdog group), the Treasury Department IG has apparently located a few relevant documents. Those documents apparently show that, “Yes, Viirginia – taxpayer info was sent to the White House by the IRS.”

    How many documents, you ask? Don’t worry; only a handful.

    Handful, as in around 2,500.

    This is in addition to the 30,000 “lost” emails to/from Lois Lerner, former head of the IRS Tax-Exempt Division and key player in the scandal, that have recently been discovered. Maybe now we’ll find out why she “pleaded the Fifth” when subpoenaed to testify before Congress.

    Stay tuned. This does seem to be getting quite interesting. It’s probably also getting quite uncomfortable for a number of folks in the current Administration, too. And that last . . . is a good thing. (smile)

    But I do have to wonder why all of this is coming to light right after the election this month – as opposed to before.

    Nah, I’m kidding. I don’t wonder much at all about the reason behind the timing.

  • ISIS pledges support for Ferguson criminals

    ISIS pledges support for Ferguson criminals

    So, ISIS sent this in support of the Ferguson rioters. All they have to do is convert en masse to Islam and ISIS will send them some gun fighters. My initial reaction is “Great!”, I mean, the Zombie Apocalypse seems to be on hold, the North Koreans don’t appear to be serious about their threats to invade, and the death threats we got this weekend are beginning to look like nothing but Breathless Bluster emanating from Bethesda, so yeah, send me some pop-up running, screaming targets.

    This should give the criminals in Ferguson pause to look at how their behavior is seen by the rest of the world, but it won’t. They’ll probably name their little trash heap that they’ve created as part of the Caliphate.

    You should read the comments on the Tweet. And thanks to our ninja who sent us the link from Pajama Media.

  • Neo-Nazi’s Internet threats earns him 17 years of incarceration

    Neo-Nazi’s Internet threats earns him 17 years of incarceration

    Bill-White

    Someone dropped off a link on our Facebook page about this Neo-Nazi fellow by the name of Bill White who earned himself 17-and-a-half years in prison for his internet death threats to a former Federal prosecutor and an FBI agent.

    The U.S. Attorney’s Office reports that a federal judge in Orlando sentenced 38-year-old William White on Friday. White is originally from Roanoke, Va. He was convicted in September of sending interstate threats with the intent to extort and using personal information without lawful authority in furtherance of a crime of violence. The new sentence will run consecutively with a nearly-8-year sentence he’s already serving for a separate federal case out of Virginia.

    Mister White, the racist, cowardly, bullying POS, also sent threats to his targets’ children and grandchildren. It all sounds so familiar, but you know, justice being what it is these days, I’m pretty sure that our case won’t have the same outcome, in spite of similar conditions.
