  • What goes around…

    I just watched Michelle Malkin on Hannity refer to the politically correct lefties as handmaidens of terror and the old memory cells worked for once. I said to my lovely better half, “Hey! I wrote a poem for her on that topic!” A quick Google search turned up this bit of doggerel that Malkin had inspired from me more than a decade ago. Reading it through, I realized it is truer now, in light of the responses from the lefties to the London bombing, of our current politically correct, Democrat left, than it was when I wrote it, certainly not a good sign for our troubled times, nor the times to come.

    Handmaidens of Terror

    Michelle Malkin notes, I believe with some error,
    The politically correct are handmaidens of terror.
    But handmaiden may be a too—mild appellation
    For the worms at the core of the threat to our nation,
    Who are far more concerned with our socialist purity,
    Than commonsense measures for our nation’s security.
    They’ll insist we don’t need anti—terrorist powers,
    ‘Til terror bombs blow down their own ivory towers.

    More than mere handmaids in true servile sense,
    They’re concubines of correctness in Jihadist tents,
    Plying socialist sweetmeats to death—dealing masters,
    Naively abetting more future disasters.
    Respect our dark brothers say these houris beguiling,
    No need for your paranoid, racist profiling.
    Forget swarthy males from the East caused our losses,
    We must share their pain, understand their root causes.

    These handmaids ignore their own reasoning powers,
    Like no grannies flew planes into those twin towers;
    Or why we’re not shown after a terror event,
    Any mug shots of men of Caucasian descent.
    They insist we ignore facts as plain as their faces,
    Like Islamo—fascists tend to be certain races.
    No, Michelle, dear, I fear that handmaiden’s in error,
    Simply too mild a term for these true whores for terror.

  • Blogger Bob Owens passes

    Blogger Bob Owens passes

    Bob Owens was known as Confederate Yankee when we started blogging. He was very supportive of the work we did here. Lately, he retooled his internet presence with a new Second Amendment blog “Bearing Arms“. He linked to much of our work in regard to the second amendment and military issues. We have collaborated many times.

    Today we learn that Bob has passed at the age of 46.

    According to BNO News;

    Blogger Bob Owens, the founder and editor of the pro-gun news website “Bearing Arms,” has been found dead in North Carolina in an apparent suicide, local officials say. He was 46 years old.

    The incident happened at about 10:54 a.m. on Monday when officers received a report of a gunshot victim near a stop sign at the intersection of Sequoia Ridge Drive and Judd Parkway in Fuquay-Varina. A firearm was found near the man, who was later identified as Owens.

    Just minutes before Owens’ body was found, at 10:51 a.m., a brief note was posted on his Facebook account. “In the end, it turns out that I’m not strong. I’m a coward, and a selfish son of a bitch. I’m sorry,” the message said.

    Guest post: On line baby shower for Mr. & Mrs. TSO

    From Parachutecutie; Parachutecutie is having an on line baby shower for Mr. & Mrs. TSO in anticipation of the arrival of their twin boys.

    We all know that Mark has recently been posting about back issues. The reality is he has no back issues. Mark is taking advantage of this ruse and the time off to research deep cost cutting options around the house. I have first hand knowledge that he has been experimenting with the following:

    He’s been filling disposable diapers with various quantities of different liquids and solids then hanging them in the back yard to dry so that he can fill them again to test the ability to reuse them. I sure hope he’s spraying them with a disinfectant as they hang to dry.

    Cades Cove

    He’s been experimenting with Ramen noodles for two reasons. 1) He has been picking out all of the “vegetables” to determine the ratio of “nutritious” vegetables to noodles and 2) to determine how many packages he could eat before having to take Exlax to unbind him (we all know about his problem with that, too).

    He’s been running a cost analysis of Ramen + exlax against their current grocery receipts.

    He’s built this contraption in his back yard and rented a cow to determine, once the twins are off of formula, if one cow can provide enough milk for all the kiddos.

    He’s even put Caroline through a class on how to utilize EVERY SINGLE square centimeter of a baby wipe. *sigh*

    These are just a few of the “research” projects Mark is currently involved in.

    How can we help? Go to one of the links below and lets help stock them up on diapers, wipes and other items the twins will need. Hopefully this will also allow Mark to get back to work and write some articles for The American Legion.

  • Why Stolen Valor Goes Ignored

    Why Stolen Valor Goes Ignored

    Someone sent in this article about Stolen Valor.  A guy named Jonn Lilyea was interviewed:

    “It’s pretty disgusting, because I have friends who are in Arlington who only got to wear their medals as they were being buried, and these guys just pin them on like they’re buttons or decorations,” John Lilyea, a former platoon sergeant in the U.S. Army who tracks stolen valor cases, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “That’s what sets off most veterans, because we know people who didn’t come home.”

    It appears this Lilyea character has been dealing with cases of fake and embellished military service claims for a while now.

    Lilyea has tracked down and investigated stolen valor cases on his website — This Ain’t Hell, But You Can See It From Here — since 2008, compiling hundreds upon hundreds of alleged fraudsters through tips and extensive research.

    Another guy named Doug Sterner was interviewed as well.  It seems he has been around for a really, really, long time.

    Doug Sterner, a former Army sergeant and military historian, who runs the Military Times’ Hall of Valor database of medal recipients, said stolen valor cases take “time away from typing up the citation of legitimate heroes.”

    “It’s a far bigger problem than anybody realizes,” Sterner told TheDCNF.

    It is a well done article that sheds some light on many of the Stolen Valor issues we are facing today.  A huge thank you to KATHRYN WATSON for doing all the work on the article.  If you like the article please drop her a note.  It sounds like a few hoses and tubes can’t keep an old Platoon Sergeant down, or at least quiet anyway.

  • Disorder in the court (Updated)

    Disorder in the court

    Here is an update for some of the proceedings we are experiencing in Florida, for your entertainment, from the judge;

    Throughout these proceedings, the Plaintiff has repeatedly exhibited a deliberate, willful, and contumacious disregard for the rules, orders, and authority of the Court, and his failure and refusal to comply with the Court’s Order is yet another example. The Plaintiffs willful noncompliance with the Court’s Order justifies the dismissal of this action with prejudice.

    […]

    Clearly, the Plaintiffs noncompliance with the Court’s Order was willful, deliberate, and contumacious, rather than an act of neglect or inexperience. The Plaintiff was previously a licensed attorney in California until his recent disbarment by the California Supreme Court, his disregard for the Court’s rules, orders, and authority have been pervasive in these proceedings and others filed by the Plaintiff before this Court and other tribunals, and nothing in the record before the Court supports a finding that the Plaintiffs disobedience is attributable to neglect or inexperience. The Court has previously sanctioned the Plaintiff in this case for his failure and refusal to abide by the Courts rules and orders. He has also been sanctioned for similar misconduct in other cases before other courts. The Plaintiff, as he was acting on his own behalf, was solely and entirely responsible for his noncompliance with the Courts Order. The Plaintiffs noncompliance has prejudiced the Defendants through undue expense, and the Plaintiff has offered no justification for his noncompliance. Lastly, as stated in the Court’s prior order as the basis for imposing the pro se filing prohibition, the Plaintiffs failure and refusal to comply with the Courts rules and orders has created significant problems of judicial administration. The Plaintiff has caused needless expense to other parties and unnecessarily burdened the Court through his continued abuse of the judicial process.

    […]

    Considering the Plaintiffs extreme misconduct in this case—including his repeated and obstinate noncompliance with the Court’s rules and orders, myriad improper, frivolous, and incomprehensible filings, and general disregard for the Court’s authority and orderly judicial processes—the Plaintiff has abused the privilege to amend and there appears to be no possible way for the Plaintiff to amend his complaint to state a viable cause of action against the Defendants.

    […]

    It is thereupon ORDERED AND ADJUDGED as follows:

    1. The Defendants Motions should be and the same are hereby GRANTED.
    2. The Plaintiffs First Amended Complaint is hereby STRICKEN.
    3. This case is hereby DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE.
    4. The Court hereby retains jurisdiction of this case and the parties to determine whether an award of attorney’s fees and costs is appropriate.

    UPDATE: The Gravity Club weighs in;

    You should look harder on this.

    Judge committed about 27 errors. It is on appeal before Florida Court of Appeal.
    The court reporter has now been directed by Mr. Bernath to prepare the transcripts.
    Judge continued to make rulings after Mr. Bernath pointed out that she was biased. That wil lvoide all her orders.
    Anyway, new federal action/lawsuit against Lilyea, Seavey, Hoey, Shipleys, et al., shall be filed in Norfolk Federal Court on Tuesday. Now we have bank fraud as a predicate act for the RICO charges.
    Four years ago you had to the power to kill veterans. Now, you are now as harmless as kittens. Suicides on your tough guys parts after posting child pornography. Once exposed all of you flee.
    Even Shipley has run and hidden

    Seavey told to STFU..

    Even “Reb” is in hiding. The list goes on and on.

    I don’t think anyone cares if an affirmative action hire in a local Florida Court wants this case to proceed really matters. IT will proceed here there or somewhere. You will be on the witness stand and explain your push to get vets to kill themselves.
    With or without the AA hire’s opinion you have been tamed and are hiding.
    Has Hoey been fired yet? He keeps “striking” for it (to use a Navy term).
    How about Seavey or are they waiting for the lawsuits to be over so he can’t turn on the Legion and betray them by saying what was really going on? As he is just another drone at Legion they sure aren’t keeping that trouble maker around for any other reason. Once this is over Seavey will be fired and his past will follow him around when he tries to find a new job. Middle aged with his war record of jacking off with the troops.

    Signed,
    Legal Team of the Victors

  • A note on the Feel Good Stories

    I’ve had a couple of complaints this week about how flippant I am in regards to our daily feel good stories. One complaint was about a story we did on Friday about Alvin Lee Jenks who was shot dead when he tried to kick down a homeowner’s door. A fellow claiming to be Alvin’s twin brother called to tell me that I need to be more compassionate. I spend a few hours every day going through hundreds of news stories about people who rape 98-year-old women, kill 6-year-olds, kill cats and dogs, murder cops, shoot dog-walkers, and murder store clerks. My compassion is gone by the time I schedule these stories.

    Innocent people murdered and maimed by criminals. When the criminals lose, I rejoice and it makes me feel good. Maybe this twin brother of Alvin Lee should have shown some compassion to his brother before he got to the point where he felt he could enter someone’s home uninvited.

    Another fellow complained about a story we wrote last weekend about 21-year-old Tyler Nelson who was also gunned down when he tried to force his way into someone’s home. Now, we find that the deceased may have been drunk – but that doesn’t excuse his behavior, and I wonder if the complainant showed any compassion and tried to keep young Nelson sober before he got so drunk that he could use it as an excuse to violate someone’s property rights, and their right to be secure in their home.

    I’m completely on the victims’ sides in these stories. The dead made all of the choices up until their intended victims changed the story line and put them down. Most of the intended victims were just innocent people living their lives the best way they knew how until the criminals entered their lives and they didn’t want to kill anyone, but they didn’t back down from their social contract to protect their families and themselves. These are true American heroes who don’t back down from a challenge that they didn’t invite. These folks are the bulwark against the decaying culture in this country. They are the price of a life of crime. If you hate victims and you hate justice, maybe you shouldn’t read these stories.

  • TAH on Veterans’ Corner

    MCPO and I (TSO called in sick) were on the radio last week with Don Buzney of the radio show, Veterans’ Corner on WRSU, 88.7 FM, New Brunswick, NJ (radio.rutgers.edu).

    In case you missed our discussion about Stolen Valor, here it is for posterity;

  • TAH on the Radio

    For some reason, Don Buzney of Rutgers Radio’s Veterans Corner, invited us to be back on his radio show to talk about Stolen Valor.

    TSO won’t be joining us this time, so it will be just me and MCPO. It starts at about noon-so you’ll want to be there for it, if you can crowd your way in to the broadcast what with all of the trolls who take notes.
