  • Dishonorable Disclosures

    The folks at the Special Operations (OPSEC) Political Committee sent us this video, if you have 22 minutes to spend, it’s a good video and clearly explains why they oppose this administration and the impact of the leaks that Administration has made for political gain.

    Intelligence and Special Operations forces are furious and frustrated at how President Obama and those in positions of authority have exploited their service for political advantage. Countless leaks, interviews and decisions by the Obama Administration and other government officials have undermined the success of our Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk.

  • Democrats deserve Biden

    Joe Biden is an idiot;

    In the same state that was outraged that a Senatorial candidate said “macaca” during the campaign, they don’t seem all that outraged about their vice president telling them that the Republicans are going to put “y’all” back in chains. How often does Biden, former Senator from Delaware, use “y’all” in a sentence? Well, how often does he use it when he’s not sucking up to an audience?

    Well, not all black Virginians are quite so forgiving as the audience in the video. The Virginia Black Conservatives write their response;

    “With black unemployment at its highest levels in recent history-thanks in part to the policies of the Obama/Biden administration, one would think it politically wise to steer clear of an argument that posits their administration as helpful to black Americans,” said Coby W. Dillard, founder of VBC. “The Romney/Ryan ticket presents an opportunity for both parties to have an intelligent conversation on the entitlement state and its negative impact on Americans of all races. True to form, however, the Obama/Biden administration prefers to engage in “attack and blame” politics than to present any meaningful solutions that will get Americans working, rein in our excessive spending, and renew the promise of equal opportunity for future generations.”

    Our buddy, Coby Dillard, a Navy veteran, has it exactly right. Biden was invoking scary imagery of pre-Civil War days to frighten voters, but then that’s all the Democrats have is fear. It’s reminiscent of the imagined fears of George W Bush repealing the 13th Amendment as if it was even constitutionally possible for a president to rescind an amendment.

    It’s amazing to me that Democrats would even pull the lever for an idiot like Biden given his record of verbal indiscretions. An admitted plagiarizer, a bold and unapologetic racist, a braggart, and a bumbling moron. But he has a (D) after his name, so that makes his idiocy all tolerable.

  • NOAA needs 46,000 rounds of .40 cal. ammo

    Business Insider reports that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Weather Service is in the market for 46k rounds of .40 caliber bullets for some reason. Maybe it’s their new method for scaring hurricanes away or something.

    The National Weather Service stations in Ellsworth, Maine, and New Bedford, Mass., are slated to receive 16,000 rounds of .40 S&W jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullets.

    […]

    6,000 rounds of S&W JHP will be sent to Wall, New Jersey and another 24,000 rounds of the same bullets will be handed over to the station in St. Petersburg, Florida.

    This comes on the heels of the Department of Homeland Security buying 450 million rounds a few months back.

    Right after DHS placed their order, I ordered some green tip 5.56mm and I just got my ammo can full yesterday from 5 months on backorder. Of course, I was holding out for stripper clips, because I don’t load my magazines a bullet at a time. But it seems to me that the government is buying up all of this ammo to make it harder for us private citizens to get it. Cheaper Than Dirt jacked their prices up $20/400 rounds of 5.56mm right after that government order in March.

    I guess if they can’t get our guns, they’ll price ammo out of our reach. I don’t have any .40 cal. Short & Weak weapons, though. I opted for the 10mm instead, and the 10mm is too manly for government agents.

  • VoteVets piles on Ryan

    This is the lead article at the VoteVets Facebook page;

    I read through all of those comments and not one of them mentioned that the Obama Administration does mention veterans in their budget proposal and it mentions them as a means to balance the budget by hiking our health care out-of-pocket costs. So, I’m not sure that Ryan not mentioning veterans in his budget proposal is a bad thing.

    It seems to me that a non-partisan political group could mention the downside of supporting a president who has already proved that they’ll screw veterans at every opportunity. Be it suggesting that we buy health insurance to cover our service-connected injuries, warning local police that we’re a terrorist threat, or just generally screwing with our retirement plans.

    Like I’ve said, I’m pretty sure that the only reason Romney hasn’t screwed veterans is because he hasn’t had an opportunity yet, but at this juncture, I’m going to have to withhold any support of the known quantity and just hope for the best.

    ADDED: So you can shake your head a little longer, this is the next article down;

    I think it’s a little disingenuous to set up the discussion up like that when we’ve had countless examples of the President campaigning with actual troops sitting behind him. Not to mention, hiding behind the SEALs’ as cover for his failing policy in Afghanistan, while his administration calls the shooting at Fort Hood “workplace violence” and ignoring his generals’ plea for more troops and support. And then they stand-by while SFC Taylor faced charges of murder.

  • This still steams me

    The other day I wrote about the Obama Administration’s plan to raid our (retired military veterans’) Tricare funds to pay for shit that they can’t plan to pay for from the billions of dollars in taxes. So they’re going to take our healthcare money to pay for sending an aircraft carrier to the middle east, as well as off-set some of their fuel costs. Well, you know they wouldn’t have to offset fuel costs if we had a common sense energy policy in this country – and that’s not the fault of veteran retirees, but that’s who is supposed to pay for it.

    Remember during the 2000 election George W. Bush told us that the reason that we can’t leave money in Washington because government will spend it like it’s theirs. In this case, they plan on spending the $700 million surplus from our Tricare premiums…and they STILL want to jack up our premiums. Now, a rational comptroller would set that surplus aside so we don’t have to pay more in the future, but apparently no one in Washington cares about our money.

    While this Administration is working to lower everyone else’s health care costs, they’re increasing the costs to veterans, because you know, we haven’t given enough already. It’s more important that government be able to fund abortions and substance dependency rather than pay it’s fair share of their debt to us…you know, like they promised.

    So you need to get on the horn to your congress person – here’s a link with their contact information. Oh, yeah, an email won’t do anything – too easy for their respective staffs to ignore and delete. You have to write letters and telephone the office with your outrage. Get on the stick and complain. And don’t forget to register your outrage with your local VSO – get those people off their asses, too.

  • Veterans for Obama

    JP sends us this picture from Obama For America in which “Jocelyn” who says she’s a veteran and she’s voting for Obama because he keeps his promises.

    The picture sits atop this caption

    Jocelyn knows President Barack Obama is looking out for veterans and their families—join Veterans for Obama today.

    As JP said, I thought there was still a war going on and some of our troops are still in it, but I guess because Jocelyn isn’t there, it doesn’t matter.

    Obama also promised that he was going fight the Taliban with all of the resources available to the most powerful president in the world, but he only half-assed staffed the surge, greatly undermanned in the estimation of his generals and the CIA.

    Obama also promised to close Guantanamo, how’s that working out, Jocelyn? He promised veterans that he wouldn’t balance the national budget on the backs of veterans while his Secretary of Defense was planning to do just that. The president and his Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs promised to straighten out the DVA, but the list of veterans waiting for disability has doubled. Can we talk about how the VA couldn’t pay veterans’ education benefits that Obama voted for as a Senator in a timely manner? How about how the first thing Obama tried to do to veterans was to make us buy health insurance to pay for our service-connected injuries. And who can forget that the Obama Homeland Security Department labeled veterans as a dangerous threat to our national security.

    But, yeah, he’s man of Bush’s word to withdraw from Iraq on time – but only because he couldn’t send competent people to negotiate with Iraqis to allow us to stay. And Iraq is being torn apart by violence in our wake undoing everything the troops did during the 2006 surge. So, yeah, vote for him again, Jocelyn, because you don’t have to deploy to Iraq, if you ever did.

  • I don’t think “gutsy” means what you think it means

    Yeah, I’m going to pile on this one, too. For some reason, my work computer tells me that The Daily Caller is an attack website, so I have to rely on our buddy, McQ at Blackfive for the details on the story that Caller is reporting, that being; Obama cancelled the Osama bin Laden mission three times on the advice of f’n Valerie Jarret, his assistant for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs – a freaking PAO jock.

    Most of our past presidents have relied on their military advisers for, you know, military advice. But not this guy. He has to poll the strap hangers and pencil sharpeners first. After all, they know more about military matters than the folks responsible for pulling triggers and stuff. As Bruce said;

    Sorry, despite the fact that I’m not at all a fan of this President, I’m also not much for anonymous single sources. However, this would certainly further damage the already widely panned “ “gutsiest calls of any president in recent history” claim even more. And, who knows, if true, there may very well have been legitimate reasons for the cancellations. The inclusion of Valarie Jarrett in the decision cycle, however, would lead me to believe otherwise.

    Yeah, if the whole story is true, a everyone thinks it is, it kinda puts a damper on that whole “gutsiest call” thing we heard Joe Biden yanking his crank about a few months back. And to borrow from Mr. Hanson;

    The truly sad thing is that this is the one accomplishment he thinks makes him worthy of another four years of destruction.

    Like I said before, if I was running for president this year, I’d go on vacation until November, because nothing can hurt the current administration more than what they’re doing to themselves.

  • What the hell is this?

    Yeah, so here I am in the middle of the day blogging about the election again. But, Country Singer sent us this link to an article about the President who chanced upon three veterans in a diner and had an impromptu chat with them;

    the Portland lunch reinforced the message that president cares about vets. In addition, the local vets — Thomas Foeller of Oak Grove and Mark Peterson and Dean Dilley, both of Portland — are retired white males, a demographic the Obama campaign would certainly like to do better with.

    Whatever the politics behind the luncheon, however, Foeller, Peterson and Diller said it was an experience they’ll always remember.

    “I can’t emphasize how easy the president is to talk to,” said Foeller, 65, a former Navy officer who later spent most of his career at the Bonneville Power Administration.

    Foeller said Obama listened sympathetically as he talked about the problems rural veterans have getting access to health care and was quick to knock down a rumor Foeller had heard from his son-in-law — an Iraq War veteran — that members of the National Guard would get a pay cut.

    There won’t be any reduction, Obama told them.

    Where did that rumor come from? Trust me, I deal with rumors every day, and I’ve never heard that anyone was going to cut National Guard pay. So I guess if you wanted to toss a softball to your guy, ask him to solve a non-existent problem.

    I think if the president sat down with me at a diner, I’d have more important shit to discuss with him than some rumor about space aliens coming to cut National Guard pay,

    Oh, and according to Gateway Pundit, those vets were plants anyway.
