  • Al Sharpton Slams Program for Good Samaritans

People being good citizens with assisting police make arrests? Reverend Al Sharpton isn’t too happy with this program.

A police association is jumping in to encourage legitimate citizen involvement. The Sergeants Benevolent Association is offering to reward $500.00 to good Samaritans who assist police officers with making arrests.

Additionally, a New York state senator is recommending legislation that protects people making citizen’s arrests. If this legislation passes, and gets signed into law, a second incentive open up to encourage legitimate citizen assistance to the police; reduced liability.

Reverend Al Sharpton is not having any of that. From the New York Daily News:

“Golden’s attempt to codify this regressive legislation that resembles some of this country’s most shameful Jim Crow laws, is despicable and will be fought at every measure,” Sharpton said. “We are emboldened to act and resist this blatant and poorly veiled attempt to devalue the lives of black and brown people and put them into the hands of civilians.”

“This attempt to exacerbate vigilante violence against black and brown people and now monetarily incentivize that violence is unconscionable,” Sharpton said in the statement.

If Al Sharpton is so concerned about minority lives, there are places he could go to, and audiences he could address. He could start in places like Chicago, where black on black violence shows lack of regard for minority lives.

We’ve seen videos of police facing danger, and even one where a police officer was killed.

Let’s see, someone breaks the law. This someone is dangerous; the police attempt to apprehend the individual. The individual proves to be too much. Enter the good Samaritans who could legitimately assist with the apprehension.

Citizens decide to help those that represent the community. This is about law enforcement, and keeping the peace.

Al Sharpton appears to be advocating for Thugs/law breakers. We need more programs like these, just like we need law abiding citizens with a concealed and carry permit… Ready to responsibly use their firearm to protect their own lives as well as that of others.

  • Reality Winner Wins 5 Years in Prison

A reading of the linked article showed that Reality Winner had contempt for capitalism and its impact on the environment. She also supported Edward Snowden. She showed intent by using software that allowed her to hide her tracks. You saw what transpired after that.

Yes, she definitely knew that she was doing something that she wasn’t supposed to do.

    From The New York Times:

Ms. Winner’s lawyers asked the judge to take into account in sentencing that she had served honorably in the Air Force, had been a top student and had no prior criminal record. “She is someone who has done something she should not have done — and knows she should not have done,” John Bell, one of Ms. Winner’s lawyers, told Judge Hall. “But she’s not an evil person.”

It appears that the court opted for the lesser sentence, instead of going to a trial where she could’ve faced 10 years of prison. Doing so would’ve exposed more classified material. Ultimately, it was the best interest of national security and other reasons, and not the argument that Reality Winner “Isn’t such a bad person at all” that won her the lesser of the two.

Federal guidelines allowed for a sentence of up to 10 years, but prosecutors agreed in June to a sentence of 63 months, to avoid a trial that would require discussing classified reports and intelligence gathering techniques in open court. Prosecutors argued in a sentencing memorandum filed this week that such a trial “would compound the exceptionally grave harm to national security already caused by the defendant,” and that the plea agreement “reflects a fair resolution of the defendant’s criminal culpability. ”

She has probably been exposed to reality while in confinement, and will be exposed to more reality after her release, given what she has done. Reality is going to hit Reality Winner like a ton of bricks… Repeatedly.

  • Seen, or heard, of people doing “the stupid”?

During one of my Navy Mediterranean deployments, we left the pier with one less Marine. The word surrounding his remaining behind was that he tried to screw over a prostitute. The transaction started normally enough.

They had their initial discussion of services and required funds.

Once that got out of the way, and money changed hands, they did their business. However; when the prostitute thought they were done, the Marine had other plans. He punched her and knocked her down. He grabbed her purse, took his money, and tried to take off.

Unfortunately, the police got to him before he could return to the ship. He may have gotten a bargain after all for that money that he tried to take back.

Meanwhile, in the United States, a prostitution sting “hit the jackpot” with one of the military Johns they caught.

In this video, four Fort Hood Soldiers got netted in a prostitution sting. One of the Soldiers had a knife, duct tape, and a body bag in his possession. The sheriff in the video, asked, “What were his intentions? We don’t know!” He continues on and states that they may have stopped a serious crime.

    You think?

They also busted three illegal aliens in the same sting. One of them had a gun in his possession.

Interested in what you guys have seen, in the military or elsewhere, where people take, “How stupid can you get?” As a challenge.

    Go nuts.

  • Winter-like Atmospheric Pattern in the Middle of Summer

That’s what the headlines should’ve said. Instead, we have one title suggesting, “Odd weather pattern”, and another saying, “Unusual midsummer weather pattern”. A referenced speaker argued that July wouldn’t have been his guess for a weather pattern like this happening.

Tweet by National Weather Service, Tampa Bay:

“If someone randomly showed up with this satellite image and told me to guess what month it was from…July would not be my first guess. It wouldn’t be my second or third guess either.”

    Why?

This isn’t what’s expected in July because this is something that normally happens in the winter. Snow and rain are precipitation in different states. According to the National Severe Storms Laboratory website, 1 inch of rain could equal 13 inches of snow.

Had July’s rain fell as snow, my area would’ve gotten approximately five to six feet of snow by July 29, 2018, with half of that falling the week leading to the 29th.

This “unusual condition” happened back to back, and would be similar to having two back-to-back cold dips in the winter, with accompanying snows.

If this same condition were to occur in the winter, the east would’ve experienced a serious snow dump. Folks in some areas would still be inconvenienced by the aftermath.

And, instead of last month’s flooding, some areas would’ve received enough snowfall to cave roofs in.

In both cases, the jet stream pushed south and dropped temperatures on the eastern half of the U.S. to below average. There have been reports of snow in Canada further north in the same area as the dip… In July, in an area that normally doesn’t get snow in the middle of summer.

It’s winter in the southern hemisphere, they’re getting a beating in areas that normally don’t get a winter beat down.

The extent of the cold/frigid air from the Antarctic is larger than usual. During the times that I’ve tracked global weather, the southern hemisphere’s winters have been a good predictor of what winter would be like in the northern hemisphere.

And, judging by what already happened in the northern part of North America, and in parts of Eurasia this summer, there’s a good indication that this year will be another short Arctic melting year.

The above graphic is from Denmark’s Polar Portal as of August 6, 2018. Different colors represent different ice thickness. Didn’t someone predict a high likelihood that this wouldn’t be there?

Here’s what it looked like back in July 6, 2018:

The black trend, in the inset, is the current average Arctic sea ice volume. The grey trend is the average sea ice volume from 2004 to 2013. The grey area is the spread of the Arctic sea ice thickness averages.

This year’s average Arctic Sea Ice Volume is above average. Also, as of this posting, we have less than a month left of the Arctic ice melt season.

If trends hold, we’re looking at a possibility of an early fall, followed by an early, long, rough winter. This includes snowfall, cold, and snowstorm record potentials.

Get your snow shovels before the summer is over. Not many are thinking about winter preparation right now, so prices and availability should be favorable. Get anything else that you’d normally get to prepare for a blizzard while supplies are still plentiful.

  • A Fort Jackson Brigade Commander Busted in Prostitution Sting

Army Times, COL Fernando Guadalupe Jr. speaks during change of command.

A colonel from Fort Jackson decided that he was going to have some fun. Sorting through some prostitute advertisements, he came across a “winner”. He made contact, then initiated movement to the contact. He got to the destination and, with his groins stirring in anticipation to the frolicking that he was about to engage in, parked and walked towards the residence.

Excited that his fantasies were about to become real, he got closer to the door. He got to the home, but what he was hoping he could deliver on ended up being served to him.

Police operation, Operation Full Armor, busted COL Fernando Guadalupe during a sting operation. The operation scored prostitutes, male sex buyers, and child predators. The Colonel was arrested for trying to hire a sex worker.

COL Fernando Guadalupe is listed as one of the Brigade Commanders stationed at Fort Jackson. He has since been relieved of his duties:

    Originally posted by Army Times:

According to the Army, Guadalupe has been the head of Fort Jackson’s Leader Training Brigade since January 2017. Before Fort Jackson, Guadalupe was the Resolute Support Mission director of staff at NATO headquarters and the chief of doctrine and tactics for the U.S. Army Aviation School of Excellence.

The screwing that he’s actually going to get might cost him more than $100.00.

  • Attacking liberal bias as assault on free press?

Hillary Clinton thinks so. Apparently, what’s obvious to us regarding the truth, fact, reason, logic, etc., is something else to Hillary Clinton. She’s seeing this from a liberal perspective; liberal lies, snowflake emotion, irrational thought, etc., are, “fact, reason, and logic.”

Hillary Clinton insinuates that President Trump, and conservatives, are waging war against the truth, fact, and reason. Her argument suggests that President Trump is ignoring things that are “plainly obvious” or “fact” like man-made global warming. This “dismissal” of the “truth” marks the “beginning” of the “end” of freedom.

Yes, by not getting behind a farce like man-made global warming, and by taking action against useless policies aimed at fighting nonexistent threats, President Trump is carrying out “authoritarian” actions.

Hillary Clinton quote by The Associated Press:

“Although obsessed with his own press coverage, he evaluates it based not on whether it provides knowledge or understanding, but solely on whether the daily coverage helps him and hurts his opponents.”

When Hillary Clinton argues that the Free Press is under open assault, critical thinking people would see something else… The liberally biased press is under open assault from those that want real news. Not liberal propaganda shoved down our throats. Consequently, those that do not like to be baffled with nonsense are waging on all-out war on lies, non-facts, and irrationality, intended to get people to mindlessly support liberal agenda.

  • Iranian Navy defeating the U.S. Navy? A message from 30 years ago

U.S. Navy photograph of Iranian frigate, Sahand, burning.

Three years ago, the Iranians demonstrated how they were going to defeat the U.S. Navy. Center to their demonstration was a life-sized mock aircraft carrier. Just sitting there waiting to be punished.

Their media was there, so where high-ranking Iranian politicians, generals, and admirals.

Then, their demonstrations began. One wave of war craft after another conducted “complex” military maneuvers before assaulting the “US aircraft carrier”. They approached and reenacted Rambo on water, showing that carrier “who was boss”.

The Iranians had a message. It went something like this, “Mess with us America and we will send you to the bottom of the Persian Gulf.”

However, they didn’t just have a message for us. They had a message for their rivals in the region. It was something like this, “Don’t mess with our interests and us, we intend to expand and strengthen our influence.” They also had a message for their own people, something like this, “Glory to the revolution, we are here to stay.”

We know; however, that they’re going to pretend all they want. A look at history three decades ago, this day, should remind them of a message that we sent them… If they even bothered learning from their own mistakes.

Our message went something like this, “Mess with us and we will pulverize you, send your ships to the bottom of the Arabian Gulf, sweep them aside, etc, and show you and the Iranian people how terrible your military is.”

It was priceless when U.S. Navy personnel informed the Iranian Navy personnel that the former intended to hammer the later.

This was Operation Praying Mantis, a sea battle between the U.S. Navy and the Iranian Navy that took place 30 years ago today:

    From the Navy’s website:

Naval aircraft and the destroyer USS Joseph Strauss (DDG 16) sank the Iranian frigate Sahand (F 74) with harpoon missiles and laser-guided bombs. A laser-guided bomb, dropped from a Navy A-6 Intruder, disabled frigate Sabalan (F 73), and Standard missiles launched from the cruiser USS Wainwright (CG 28) and frigates USS Bagley (FF 1069) and USS Simpson (FFG 56) destroyed the 147-foot missile patrol boat Joshan (P 225). In further combat, A-6s sank one Bodghammer high-speed patrol boats and neutralized four more of the speedboats.

Other branches of the military also participated in this operation. This was part of a larger operation, Operation Earnest Will.

  • Hillary lost because you have issues with minorities… Or something

In Hillary Clinton’s world view, “sophisticated” and “forward leaning” people voted for her. The rest of us? Apparently, we have issues with African-American rights, minorities moving forward, women that we don’t know, etc. She also laments that some white women caved.

Unlike the “forward looking” people that voted for her, who collectively “are” responsible for a big chunk of the economy. They voted for her. The highly educated demographics “goes without saying”. On top of that, her supporters “are” dynamic and more interested in moving forward.

    From Washington Post:

“But what the map doesn’t show you is that I won the places that represent two-thirds of America’s gross domestic product. So I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward.”- Hillary Clinton

How long do you think it would take for her to realize that she should really blame herself?

Never mind that her message was a “showstopper” to the people that knew better. Despite her campaign blunders; her media coverage, Hollywood support, and other factors provided tailwinds to her campaign.

Her opponent did not have her luck, good or bad.
