  • Supreme Court Justice Bill Clinton?

That is what the headline reads at CNN’s Political Ticker blog

What a revolting idea. A man whose morals are so low as to be non-existent vested with the power of a Justice of the United States Supreme Court?

    Scary

  • Bank on it! My Prediction for the 2008 Presidential Election

Since the Democrats started running sometime around November 2004, my prediction is that the presidential election this year will have record voter turnout. Record LOW voter turnout.

There have been umpteen debates already, and it is barely January. So much BS has been tossed around, I feel like I’m in the old west.

It isn’t battle fatigue, it isn’t even bottle fatigue, it is campaign fatigue. By November, so many will be so sick of hearing these morons (there isn’t a good candidate on either side) that they may not bother to vote, other than to vote to end it. We’ve got to the point that I’d rather have the election over, just for the sake of having it be over.

  • Huckabee Makes a Savvy Move

    The Hill.com story:
Huckabee pulls negative ad, vows to go positive
    By Sam Youngman
    December 31, 2007

DES MOINES – Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) told reporters Monday that he was pulling a negative ad designed to target his chief rival in Iowa, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R).

Then he showed the ad to a room packed wall to wall with reporters.
That is an incredibly savvy move for Huckabee to make, this way, the ad STILL slaps Romney, and Huckabee manages to look like a good guy, and saves the money his campaign would have paid to air the ad.
    Brilliant.

  • Sara Jane Moore Out on Parole

On Sept. 22, 1975, just weeks before my third birthday, she tried to shoot President Gerald R Ford from 40 feet away and was foiled when a disabled Marine veteran knocked her arm up, blowing her shot. Here is the Money quote from the article:
In recent interviews, Moore said she regretted her actions, saying she was blinded by her radical political views and convinced that the government had declared war on the left.

“I was functioning, I think, purely on adrenaline and not thinking clearly. I have often said that I had put blinders on and I was only listening to what I wanted to hear,” she said a year ago in an interview

She’s the one that tried to kill Ford, the only man to serve as President without first being elected either president or vice president, two weeks after Squeaky Fromme, we remember Squeaky’s name but, poor Sara Jane gets lost for being a normal name…
At 77 she is not likely to be a threat to anyone that stays off her lawn. She was 45 when she tried to kill Ford, giving her the dubious distinction of being the oldest attempted assassin in US history.

  • Only ONE American Political Party EVER Advocated SLAVERY

In an argument, sliding towards a flame war on a forum I frequent, the lie of Republican Racism was repeated a few too many times for me.
In looking to disprove the claim that “The difference is that the Democrats as a matter of Party policy have put aside racism and instituted massive civil rights reforms over the last sixty years. The Republicans have, as a matter of stated Party policy, opposed every single one of them and have spent three Presidential Administrations rolling them back.” I stumbled across this site: The American Presidency Project it is run by UCSB and includes EVERY political party platform from 1840 to 2004 (democrat and republican). Very interesting reading. That Congress has no power, under the Constitution, to interfere with or control the domestic institutions of the several States; and that such States are the sole and proper judges of everything pertaining to their own affairs, not prohibited by the Constitution; that all efforts, by abolitionists or others, made to induce Congress to interfere with questions of slavery, or to take incipient steps in relation thereto, are calculated to lead to the most alarming and dangerous consequences, and that all such efforts have an inevitable tendency to diminish the happiness of the people and endanger the stability and permanency of the Union, and ought not to be countenanced by any friend to our Political Institutions. That? Oh, THAT is from the Democratic Party Platform of 1844, giving the Democrats the distinction of being the ONLY political party to advocate slavery. There is a simply staggering amount of racial intolerance in the Democratic platforms. I am amazed that they actually put that vileness to paper, and history.
What prompted this, was my posting of a link to this rather good Wall Street Journal piece by Bruce Bartlett: Whitewash
The racist history the Democratic Party wants you to forget

  • Subdued GOP activity in Iowa reflects uncertainty

Subdued GOP activity in Iowa reflects uncertainty. That is the title of this USA Today article.
USA Today is wrong. That isn’t what it reflects. What it reflects is the undeniable and horrible fact that the republican candidates all suck out loud.

  • Will Smith:”Hitler was a good person”

The actor said he believes Hitler was essentially a good person who wasn’t intentionally doing “the most evil thing” possible.

“Even Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can do today.’ I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was good,” Smith says. “Stuff like that just needs reprogramming.”
    Transworld News Story
The bit about reprogramming doesn’t make sense, unless you know Smith has joined the celebricult of Scientology.

While Smith is an actor and a singer, the impact of his statements is MASSIVE because so many out there are stupid enough to believe famous=wise.
He should take Laura Ingram’s advice and SHUT UP AND SING

  • Whatever Happened to “Talking Down the Economy”?

Remember that charge leveled by the Gore campaign in 2000? Anytime (then Governor) Bush mentioned that the economy was slowing and something needed to be done, the Gore campaign and the msm would caterwaul about how Bush was “Talking DOWN the Economy.”

Now, years later, talking down the economy is apparently no longer a concern.
    See these two stories
The first is about how the GDP growth in the third quarter marked the fastest pace of growth since the third quarter of 2003.
While the second tells us that this can’t last and will, apparently all end in tears.

So, are Republicans vested with some sort of economy slowing super power, or what?
