Of course this was a bald-faced lie and anyone with half a brain saw this coming months ago. The right naturally pointed out what pathological liar this clown is turning out to be but then something happened that I did not expect.

During the runup to the general election Barack Obama received up to 120 endorsements from the nations newspapers. Many of them lauded his support of campaign finance reform. But now that he has opted out of public financing those same papers are a bit pissed.

Of the editorial boards that opined Friday about his breaking the pledge, most of those that endorsed him during the primary were aggressive in their criticism.

The Philadelphia Inquirer’s called the decision “as disappointing as it is disingenuous,” while the Boston Globe’s wrote it “deals a body blow … to his own reputation as a reform candidate.” And The Baltimore Sun’s editorial called it “a major disappointment for those struggling to restrain the pernicious influence of special interests in American politics.”

The New York Times’ editorial board, which endorsed Clinton after allegedly leaning toward Obama, wrote that “Obama has come up short” of “his evocative vows to depart from self-interested politics.”

The Washington Post opined that Obama’s “effort to cloak his broken promise in the smug mantle of selfless dedication to the public good is a little hard to take.”

And USA Today, which also did not endorse any candidates, said Obama put “expediency over principle,” was “disingenuous about his reasons for opting out of public financing” and proved he’s not a “real reformer.”

The reason this caught me a bit by surprise is that it is nothing more than a continuation of a long pattern of lies from Obama. There is a great list of his proven lies here.

But this is no different than blasting NAFTA while pandering in Ohio then sending his economic advisor to the Canadians whispering; it’s okay, he’s just pandering.

Or his claim to immediately withdraw from Iraq but when his foreign policy advisor is cornered on the question she said that he would naturally have to “re-assess” that position once in office.

This man is nothing more than a political opportunist and opportunist lie; a lot.

Today, the Obama camp is playing a little damage control over a SNAFU that happened at an Obama event in Michigan. You will recall that two young Muslim ladies were forbidden from the stage where cameras could frame them in the same shot with the Messiah because they were wearing head scarves.

A lot of folks on the right jumped on this as hypocritical. I didn’t write anything about it because I thought it was much ado about nothing. I work in the marketing world and can assure that both sides do this ALL THE TIME.

But maybe it wasn’t the head scarves that were the problem? Maybe the problem was that they are a couple of radical, terror supporting, anti-Semites?

According to Debbie Schlussel, these two gals have some disturbing history:

Hebba Aref, was an official of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), in charge of proselytizing. The Chicago Tribune identified the MSA as part of the American manifestation of the Sunni terrorist group, Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimeen–The Muslim Brotherhood. Aref served on the executive board of the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s MSA, which demanded and obtained tax-funded Muslim foot baths at that university, a story I broke on this site last year.

Shimaa Abdelfadeel, the other woman allegedly excluded by the Obama campaign, was chair of SAFE, a University of Michigan-Ann Arbor group that hosted the 2002 Divestment Conference against Israel at which “Annihilate the Jews!” was chanted and Islamic Jihad founder Sami Al-Arian was keynote speaker. She’s the author of vehement anti-Israel vitriol and propaganda.

Naturally the Obama camp has been apologizing all day but that’s not good enough for CAIR. And this is where it gets real dicey for Barry. CAIR is demanding more than an apology; they want Barry to invite the women on stage during a future campaign event.

Now this is a big problem for Barry.

Not all Muslims are terror supporters but a great many are and they are an overwhelmingly DEMOCRAT voting block.

The video at the link is first the video of the idiot congressman making the outrageous statement that we should nationalize the oil industry. Then this doofus is followed by another communist (and big OBAMA supporter) trying to explain to Cavuto the great advantages of our comrades in Washington controlling the oil industry.

Democrats can call themselves whatever the hell they want but I know a COMMUNIST when I see one!

I was reading an article at American Thinker that was outlining yet another gaffe by the Messiah but one of the comments got my attention.

This exact same comment showed up after an article by Brian Tumulty at the Polhudson blog to which Tumulty responded:

This mindless vowel-movement was so incomprehensible that it intrigued me. So I did a search on the good Colonel and I was floored. (I know there is no way in hell that this clown is or ever was a Colonel.)

What this knuckle dragging idiot lacks in gray matter he makes up for in energy and persistence. He has indeed been busy.

He basically has about three versions of the same cry for serious mental help and he has posted them in the comments of over 1300 articles in the past month! I did call the number but there was no answer.

Obama now has the African American vote, the socialist vote and now the emotionally disturbed vote. We are doomed!

Sound ridiculous? Powell has always been the most over rated “Republican” I can remember. Maybe you should look at what he is up to now. From HotAir:

Colin Powell, the former Republican secretary of state, says he is not ruling out a vote for Barack Obama, the presumed Democratic nominee for president…

“I will vote for the individual I think that brings the best set of tools to the problems of 21st-century America and the 21st-century world regardless of party, regardless of anything else other than the most qualified candidate,” Mr. Powell said at a news conference before delivering a speech to about 800 people attending a leadership forum at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

“Both of them certainly have the qualifications to be the president of the United States, but both of them cannot be,” he said…

Asked whether he thought it was a difficult choice, he said: “I think so. Yes.”

Shocking as this may seem to some, it came as no surprise to me. Powell is a smart man and a political opportunist of the highest caliber.

He first demonstrated his “yes man” credentials as a Major in Vietnam on his second tour (though it should be noted that he never faced anything close to dangerous combat). Powell rejected out of hand the first reports that a massacre had occurred in the small village of Mi Lai. Obviously, his effort failed to cover up Mi Lai but it made him a known commodity as a yes man to his superiors.

In 1972 he was hand selected to a White House fellowship. From that date on, he was far more political than military and it paid off. This guy spent his entire time as a Colonel in Washington DC.

In the early 80’s he was sent to get a “real command” as the Assistant Division commander of 4th Infantry Division. In his own book he said that he was almost relieved in this position and received a poor evaluation. Yet, he survived.

He never commanded a Division and commanded 5th Corps for only 6 months. Later he was given a four-star command at FORSCOM for only four months before being selected ahead of many far more qualified Generals to become the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Obviously, this did not go over well in many senior officer circles. “I believe the entire professional military establishment was disturbed by his appointment,” said Admiral Eugene Carroll. “Looking at General Powell’s career record, it is clear that he was picked out early for a more important role in life than getting his boots dirty.”

Is it likely? No. Is it possible? Yes.

Barry needs help in every possible criteria and Powell is not the buffoon that is Wes Clark.

Today our nation was made much weaker by a bunch of nuanced-thinking judges.

In a stunning blow to the Bush Administration in its war-on-terrorism policies, the Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign nationals held at Guantanamo Bay have a right to pursue habeas challenges to their detention. The Court, dividing 5-4, ruled that Congress had not validly taken away habeas rights. If Congress wishes to suspend habeas, it must do so only as the Constitution allows — when the country faces rebellion or invasion.

Chief Justice John Roberts sums up the idiocy in his dissent:

So who has won? Not the detainees. The Court’s analysis leaves them with only the prospect of further litigation to determine the content of their new habeas right, followed by further litigation to resolve their particular cases, followed by further litigation before the D. C. Circuit—where they could have started had they invoked the DTA procedure. Not Congress, whose attempt to “determine— through democratic means—how best” to balance the security of the American people with the detainees’ liberty interests, see Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, 548 U. S. 557, 636 (2006) (BREYER, J., concurring), has been unceremoniously brushed aside. Not the Great Writ, whose majesty is hardly enhanced by its extension to a jurisdictionally quirky outpost, with no tangible benefit to anyone. Not the rule of law, unless by that is meant the rule of lawyers, who will now arguably have a greater role than military and intelligence officials in shaping policy for alien enemy combatants. And certainly not the American people, who today lose a bit more control over the conduct of this Nation’s foreign policy to unelected, politically unaccountable judges.

Does this mean that every time a terrorist is captured, it must be handled like a police bust; crime scene secured and processed, evidence gathered, chain of custody, etc? Do soldiers now have to read Miranda rights before taking a terrorist into custody?

Simple solution really: TAKE NO MORE PRISONERS!
