That early morning subtle roar that Eric Holder is hearing draw nearer just might the powerful Obama Bus.

The Washington Examiner is reporting this morning that the embattled Attorney General is dodging Senate hearings.

Attorney General Eric Holder was scheduled to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee today. But less than 24 hours before the appearance, committee Democrats sent out word that Holder’s long-awaited testimony has been rescheduled for April 14, after the Easter recess.

Why? Word is that it’s because of the signing ceremony for the national health care bill, but well-informed Republicans suspect the occasion may also have given Democrats an opportunity to put off what could turn into another embarrassing performance by the attorney general.

There are lots of reasons to fire this devout leftist from the New Black Panther Party case to the KSM NYC trial to reading Miranda rights to a corpse but this time he stepped over the line.

At the height of the KSM trial debate the favorite talking point of the left was that over 300 terrorists have been tried and convicted in federal courts and therefore military commissions were unnecessary.

Well, as many suspected all along, that was a big damn lie.

Here’s the specific question and response on pages 32-33 of the submission:

30. In your opening testimony, you stated that “there are more than 300 convicted international and domestic terrorists currently in Bureau of Prisons custody.” In response to my question, you stated without reservation that you would provide the details regarding these convictions.

Please provide the details regarding each of these convictions, including: (a) the names and dates of the individuals convicted; (b) the offense(s) with which they were charged; (c) the offense(s) for which they were convicted; (d) the sentences imposed; and (e) the year the criminal case was instituted via indictment.

Response: The Department is working to develop information responsive to this request and will advise the Committee when it becomes available.

In layman terms here’s how this Q&A went down:

Senate Judiciary Committee (SJC): You said that the DOJ has convicted over 300 terrorists. Name them.

DOJ lawyers: Ummm, 300? Who said anything about 300?

SJC: Your boss did before this committee you imbecile.

DOJ: Well we’re trying, that is to say attempting to review the documentation that was the source of that number.

SJC: Okay, is it fair to say that given Mr. Holder’s testimony before this committee with such confidence that he is aware of where the source documents might be?

DOJ: Yes that seems likely.

SJC: Then why don’t you look deep up his ass! Because it seems fairly evident that that is where the number came from!

The Dutch are Deeply Hurt by the comments from former NATO commander retired General John Sheehan.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands – The Dutch prime minister Friday denounced as “irresponsible” a claim by a retired U.S. general that gay Dutch soldiers were partly to blame for allowing Europe’s worst massacre since World War II.

Dutch officials, from the Cabinet to the military, were outraged by retired Gen. John Sheehan’s remarks at a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.

The story is okay until the AP decided to spin a little of the history, particularly the events in Bosnia.

Dutch troops were serving in the undermanned U.N. peacekeeping force in Srebrenica when they were overrun by heavily armed Serb forces, who went on to turn the surrounding countryside into killing fields littered with mass graves.

Overrun by heavily armed Serb forces? Hard to say they were overrun when they didn’t fire a shot to protect themselves or the peace that they were sent to protect. Of all of the Dutch soldiers that were handcuffed to telephone poles in broad daylight in view of their comrades not one was wounded which is affair indicator of what a stiff resistance they offered the Serbs.

But this final quote from the article is the most laughable of all.

The Netherlands has a long history of accepting homosexuality, and gays have long been welcome in the country’s armed forces — which also allow labor unions.

As was pointed out to me in an email today from a great modern philosopher; the Dutch also have a long history is getting their asses kicked by invading armies and are only behind the French in their speed of surrender.

1LT Chew Toy or whatever his name is was handcuffing himself as a public spectacle so nameless strangers could mock and humiliate him (I don’t think this was his first rodeo with those cuffs). Waking up hungover from jello shots in a dark loft above the Chez Bleau with multiple cigarette burns in the small of your back and your ass burning like a Sailor’s paycheck on a four day pass was apparently not a clear indicator of a bad day developing. So 1LT Ben Dover figures an open act of civil disobedience or complex stupidity was a good idea.

But others were making news in DC on the very same subject.

Former NATO commander retired General John Sheehan demonstrated in a big way that real integrity usually manifests itself long after the officer evaluations are over.

And he didn’t pull any punches either.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A retired U.S. general says Dutch troops failed to defend against the 1995 genocide in the Bosnian war because the army was weakened, partly because it included openly gay soldiers.

That’s quite a claim but the General wasn’t through. He goes on to directly tie homosexuality to Socialism.

Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and other nations believed there was no longer a need for an active combat capability in the militaries, he said. “They declared a peace dividend and made a conscious effort to socialize their military – that includes the unionization of their militaries, it includes open homosexuality.”

He did go on to explain that there is more to an Infantry Battalion than knowing all of the lyrics and steps to the soundtrack from Chicago. This may actually explain why very few infantrymen go on to excel in flower arranging or flight attending.

“The battalion was understrength, poorly led, and the Serbs came into town, handcuffed the soldiers to the telephone poles, marched the Muslims off, and executed them,” Sheehan said.

Carl Levin was not about to let this senile homophobe off the hook that easily. For those who don’t know Carl Levin is Chairman of the Armed Services committee though he has never served a day in the military. So he demanded to know how he came to that conclusion which General Sheehan responded.

Levin, D-Mich., appeared incredulous. “Did the Dutch leaders tell you it (the fall of Srebrenica) was because there were gay soldiers there?” he asked.

“Yes,” Sheehan said. “They included that as part of the problem.” He said the former chief of staff of the Dutch army had told him.

So apparently General Sheehan disagrees with the great progressive military thinker Eddie Izzard.

To Lindsay Graham bi-partisanship is hotter than a two dollar whore on nickel night. Like him or not no one can question Graham’s tendency (or is it compulsion) to reach across the senate aisle. This guy can reach like Stretch Armstrong.

In fact given his amazing reaching abilities I bet he would have been a big hit in one of Eric Massa’s “tickle parties”. (TSO assures me with 100% confidence that Graham is just as heterosexual as Massa.)

The point is that you can always count on Graham leading almost every bi-partisan charge. Shortly after the election Graham partnered with mental Goliath John Kerry to save the planet by pushing “Cap and Tax” legislation. Even now that the whole foundation of climate science has all but imploded these two idiots are pressing on undeterred in their effort to double energy prices and surge unemployment to 20%.

He is also currently in collusion with Rahm Emanuel to cut a deal to close GITMO. The only reason to close GITMO is to salvage a President who is floundering in every poll out there. It has nothing whatsoever to do with defending our country or doing what makes sense; it is all about rescuing the image of our anointed man-child. Why does Graham give a shit? Isn’t that Axelrod’s job?

With deficits soaring, unemployment increasing, a Congressional approval rating at the lowest in history, two wars going on and the one issue holding the entire credibility of the Presidency against the ropes; Graham thinks what we really need right now is a massively divisive political gunfight to really bring us all together.

And he thinks that a President with a -21 approval rating needs to make this priority one:

For the past six months, Graham and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — who meet with Obama at 3 p.m. Thursday — have worked on a reform framework. Their plan, which hasn’t been introduced yet, includes a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants (a liberal must-have) while sweetening the pot for moderates by proposing tough new safeguards, including a biometric national ID card for workers.

To the frustration of many reform advocates, Obama has kept his opinions of the possible deal vague, giving a head nod to reform in his State of the Union speech but not much more.

Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro offered no response to Graham’s challenge but reiterated the administration’s intention to allow Congress to hash things out before Obama weighs in, an approach reminiscent of his health reform strategy.

Having said that it is unlikely that the President is going to get in front of yet another train wreck in the making but that won’t stop Lindsay’s reaching.

Understanding how controversial this whole healthcare debacle is and doesn’t appear to be getting any better anytime soon, Graham comes to the rescue with…you guessed it, more reaching.

His plan worked so well when he and John McCain and other “moderate” reachers undermined the Republican majority years ago when they formed the famous “Gang of 14”.

In the interest of bi-partisanship, Lindsay wants to do it again:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) wants to revive the bipartisan Gang of 14 — this time for health care reform, not judicial nominees.

But most of his moderate Democratic colleagues aren’t rushing to R.S.V.P.

Except of course now that the Democrats are in the majority they are just not that into Lindsay.

Will Lindsay learn from this? No. On Thursday he will meet again with the far reaches of the left to undermine the conservative movement that he has never been a true member of.

Lindsay Graham is not a conservative he is a liberal; and apparently a fairly stupid one at that.

Following TSO’s meme of how things around TAH have lately seen obvious links, follow me on this wild coincidence. I wrote an article about Debra Medina who is a lunatic “truther” and Paulbot. Ron Paul used to represent Texas District 22 and Distric 22 just got weirder than Medina and Paul combined.

Republican Pete Olson won TX-22 back in 2008 and just won the GOP primary hoping to get re-elected in November. This was considered a competitive seat and given some of the historical wackiness in TX-22 it’s no wonder.

But it just got much wackier.

Earlier this week Kesha Rogers won the Democrat primary to face Olson in November.

Here is an excerpt from Ms. Rogers’ campaign website addressing her primary win:

Houston, March 3, 2010 – The victory in the 22nd Congressional District yesterday by LaRouche Democrat Kesha Rogers sent an unmistakable message to the White House, and its British imperial controllers: Your days are numbered.

The “straw that broke the country’s back” was President Obama’s announcement to cut NASA’s manned space program, thereby pissing on the legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Obama is determined to destroy the only true solution for the economy, a scientifically driven build up of infrastructure and technology across our nation. For this, Obama must resign now or be impeached!

You read that correctly folks. The Democrats in Texas 22 just voted for a LaRouche Loon and they voted for her in a big way. Rogers received 53 percent of the vote while her opponent, Doug Blatt – who had been endorsed by local Democratic groups – received 27 percent of the vote.

As I mentioned earlier the 22nd district has a long history of lunatics getting elected including Ron Paul and Tom Delay. There must be something in the water that makes people go bat shit crazy when they see a ballot.

The Houston Press naturally ran the story and rightly pointed out some of the ridiculous positions that Rogers is championing including impeachment and colonizing space.

The real fun begins when you read the comments to the article:

It’s a known fact that Her Majesty’s Secret Service (MI6), along with the American CIA or at least elements within it, are heavily involved in the illicit drug trade. Kesha Rogers was very clear with the voters on her platform – impeach Obama, save NASA from destruction by Obama, put the failed banks through bankruptcy reorganization, create a national credit system (as we had in the 19th century) and invest in high speed rail, rapid deployment of nuclear power plants, big new water projects, etc. She was clear and the voters endorsed this platform. And by the way,the British oligarchy and empire have been the enemies of this country ever since we overthrew them in the revolution. This is a very important message to the democratic leadership – people feel betrayed by Obama and they support a return to FDR’s policies.

Anyone who stands against Lyndon LaRouche and his youth movement stands against the human race.

LUBBOCK – Candidate for the Republican nomination for Texas governor Debra Medina, in a Thursday appearance on radio show Pratt on Texas, refused to commit to support the Republican nominee for Texas governor if she is not the Party’s nominee. Medina hinted at there being other candidates on the November ballot she might support.

Pratt on Texas host Robert Pratt asked Ms. Medina, the former Wharton County chairwoman, “If you run through this election and are not the nominee of the Republican Party, will you wholeheartedly endorse and support the Party’s nominee or is there some threat of some type of outside movement there?”

“I think it’s premature to be talking about that,” replied Medina.

“So in other words, even though we do know that the nominee will be one of three people, Rick Perry, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, or yourself, you’re not willing to go on the record saying that if you’re not the nominee you would support the Party’s ticket?,” Pratt asked.

“Absolutely not,” Medina said.

“Surely you understand that there may be other candidates besides a Republican and a Democrat on the ballot come next November,” she added later.

“Ms. Medina wants Republican voters to trust her with their vote but, she isn’t willing to trust the judgment of those same voters if they should nominate someone other than her,” Pratt told his audience after the interview.

There may well be other candidates on the ballot in November other than Republican or Democrat Deb and I suggest you throw your considerable political capital in their support.

You know, sometimes I write this stuff just to piss off the Paulbots out there but I swear it works every time.

He was convicted three years ago for an act that can only be characterized as treason during a time of war.

Simple disposition of case: SHOOT HIM!

WASHINGTON — A Navy lawyer sentenced to six months behind bars for sending the names of Guantanamo Bay detainees to a human-rights attorney is set to appeal his conviction to the U.S. military’s highest court.

Oral arguments were scheduled Tuesday morning before the U.S. Armed Forces Court of Appeals in Washington.

The case involves Lt. Cmdr. Matthew Diaz, of Topeka, Kan. He was convicted in 2007 of communicating secret information that could be used to injure the United States, and leaking information to unauthorized personnel.

The names were in an unsigned valentine to a Center for Constitutional Rights lawyer.

Diaz said before his conviction that leaking the names was right because the detainees were being mistreated. But he said at his sentencing that his actions were cowardly.

I’m not planning to stay up and watch this but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if Medina does everything possible to force a run-off. A run-off that will only cost Republicans more money and ultimately lead to her very deserved ass whipping.
