Bill sends us a link to the news that Ashley Bigsbee, a 27-year-old was sentenced to less than two years for her part in the theft of weapons from an Army Reserve Center in 2015;
Bigsbee, of Dorchester, pleaded guilty in December to charges including conspiracy to possess and sell stolen weapons and aiding and abetting the sale of stolen firearms.
Authorities say Bigsbee and another person helped sell some of the six assault rifles and 10 handguns stolen from the Lincoln W. Stoddard U.S. Army Reserve Center in November 2015.
Now if these sentences are supposed to deter crime, I don’t think it worked in this instance. It seems to me that prosecutors wouldn’t want to trade away charges and sentences for gun crimes in the current environment.

I’m sure my fellow citizens here in the Baystate are thrilled to know this young woman will be out on the streets in a few months to once again contribute to our great state.
We have so many talented youth in Dorchester turning their lives around by appropriating the possessions of others that most decent people don’t go anywhere near that shithole unless they absolutely have to.
Those of us in Western Mass seldom venture inside the 128 ring, there’s no reason and no point for doing so unless attending some event. It’s so miserable with traffic these days on the Pike or heading to the Cape I keep my boat in Connecticut.

And last I checked, Both Worcester and Springfield are considered western MA.
Neither one of those places are on my tourist bucket list. Just sayin.

In reality, she SHOULD be looking at 5 years in a federal PMITA prison for those charges.

She stole weapons, which were certainly not intended to go into the hands of lawful users, and the twat gets two years? Give her thirty at least, for Christ’s sake!
About 1.5 months per weapon, not bad. Active duty its decades for just one.
