I just viewed this commercial for the enth time, but the first time with my six year old son sitting on my lap. And now a wounded sea dog crying like baby pup continues to appreciate the wonder of all who serve from family to member.
THAT might well be the finest piece of advertising I’ve seen in probably the last decade.

Well, I love this commercial and I had the same response as you. Don’t know that I picked up on the Vietnam reference the first time I saw it. My co-worker told me she could never vote Republican and I told her that’s OK because I had her covered from the other direction. One reason for my assertion on voting preference is how the constituency courted by the Democrat party was largely responsible for the reception the Vietnam era vets received on their return home. If you wish to remove this comment I’m fine with that. Just had to tell someone else. Keep up the good work, from a retired Airman (wingnut if you prefer).

Nice job Ford. When GM took the Fed money, I swore I’d bought my last GMC pickup. I’m Ford now, and this outstanding commercial confirms my decision.

@# 10 Jason, being caring and patriotic in no way makes you a “softy”. More Americans should be able to field a tear or two. My tears are those of pride, not sorrow, in these things.

This commercial came out sometime in 2005 or 2006. I’m not a Ford fan, but it’s a good commercial just the same.
