The Waterdogs and Your Tax Dollars At Work

Coasties

This series of short videos of the Puddle Pounders chasing down Very Bad Guys should give you guys a boost this weekend.

https://www.militarytimes.com/video/2019/07/26/watch-smugglers-heave-cocaine-into-the-ocean-as-coast-guard-closes-in/

In the first video:  A group of suspected smugglers in a go-fast boat took to tossing bales of assumed narcotics into the sea as U.S. Coast Guard teams caught up with them recently in the latest episode of highly kinetic apprehensions in the Pacific.

The Coasties seized 2,300+ pounds of cocaine, plus the boat, on this run.

  1. Shame the coasties didn’t test out a .50, or some belt fed on the engines of the go-fast.. would have changed to a no-go pretty quick…

  2. Out-Fucking Standing!! Kudos to the crew of US Coast Guard Cutter Steadfast! I was TDY aboard the Steadfast for 4 months in the early 90’s. Back then she was based out of St Petersburg, Fl.

  3. BZ!!! In the part of the video with the boat on fire, did the Coasties scuttle it or did the dope haulers do it in a last second move?

  4. More Coasties in the news:

Coastie and His Brothers Rescue Drowning Girl in the Irish Sea

A Coast Guard petty officer from Arlington, Virginia, and his brothers are heroes in Ireland this week, having saved a 6-year-old girl from drowning in the Irish Sea off Dublin.

Health Services Technician 3rd Class Walter Butler, 21; twin brothers Eoghan and Declan Butler, 18; and brother-in-law Alex Thomson, 24, had just arrived at Portmarnock Beach on Monday with family when they heard a man screaming for help.

A little girl was being swept to sea on a pink flamingo floatie, according to their mother, Meagan Cummings, and a report in the Irish Times.

    Another BZ, Coasties.

    1. (GROOOOOANNNN!!)
Let me get out my 11 foot pole, for those things I wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole.

  5. Damn, Ex. Did you open up a can of Coasties?

Coastie in Viral Video Who Jumped on Drug-Running Sub Will Get Award

    By Richard Sisk
That Coast Guardsman who banged on the hatch of a semi-submersible to catch a couple of alleged cartel drug runners in a viral video is now up for an award, the top enlisted Coast Guardsman said Wednesday.

“We will definitely recognize that person” with an appropriate award, said Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard Jason Vanderhaven.

Vanderhaven made the remark at a Pentagon news conference with other senior enlisted officers on a range of issues. He did not say when or where the award would be given or what type of award it would be. Coast Guard awards are similar to those in the Navy.

  6. BZ Coasties. Whole lotta nose candy down the drink. Wonder how much of it was destined for the Hollyweird elite? My niece Coasty worked the NW to Alaska side they didn’t see a whole lot of dope. More rescues of dumbasses that went out when/where they shouldn’t have.

God Daughter Coasty worked the Gulf til recently. She said in spite of the big hauls they estimated that they only 10-15%. Child ain’t but 5’5′. 105lbs and is a badass hatch kicker. She don’t tell her Mama what she does.

    1. What Momma don’t know won’t hurt her and lets her sleep soundly at night. Good on ’em both.

    2. “Whole lotta nose candy down the drink. Wonder how much of it was destined for the Hollyweird elite?”

Probably at least a dozen kilos!
