A Three-Word Description of Memorial Day

The first two explain the “why”. The last describes the holiday’s purpose.

Country
Duty

Honor

Yes, that’s a slight re-ordering of the US Military Academy’s motto. Seems kinda apropos, actually.

May your Memorial Day this year be a gentile gentle one.

  1. More than apropos Hondo and very well spoken.

Tis the Country’s Duty to Honor. Wish more did so.

  2. “May your Memorial Day this year be a gentile one.”

Is that a typo or should I be offended on behalf of all non-gentiles?

    1. No, that was indeed an unintentional typo. I was pressed for time when I wrote the original, and I didn’t catch the fact that “gentile” – while spelled correctly – wasn’t exactly the word I intended to use. (smile)

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. It’s now fixed above.
