Matthew Joseph Erris had the works on his vehicle: red and blue lights in the grill, light bar on the top, and Airsoft pistol. He didn’t stop there. He actually went out and tried to play cop. He ended up pulling a real undercover detective over. The real detective contacted 911 and reported the phony law enforcement vehicle. Not long after this, the phony deputy got pulled over.

OOPS: When 26-year-old Matthew Joseph Erris decided to play cop, turn on his red and blue lights and pull somebody over, he had no idea the other driver was a REAL undercover HCSO detective! Deputies did a REAL traffic stop on Erris. They found an airsoft pistol under his passenger seat. Erris is now facing a charge for impersonating a law enforcement officer.
It’s unclear how many times he has done this in the past. Anyone who recognizes his vehicle and believes they may have been a victim should contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200

Could be that because if you are a police officer, you may be more likely to be speeding so the person pulls you over.

Holy Shit! How do we get this many ass clowns in Florida? Am I the only normal one that lives here? I am beginning to think so, I see these stories all the time. Awhile back we had a 17 year old playing doctor at a local hospital and nobody caught on! He was actually treating patients, after that, he got arrested for playing a cop as well, teh stoopid is strong in Floriduh!!
