Tanks again and some other entertainment

Here’s some footage from a museum in the UK for armored vehicles, with a nice collection of tanks including one from World War I.  Video comes from The Tank Museum in the UK.

And for those of you who have to wear body armor and carry heavy loads into the field, here is what a Roman soldier in the 3rd century AD had to carry with him.  Video comes from Marc Sanders at The Wicker Shield.

Cool videos. We’ve come a long ways, babies.

Tanks Ex-PH2!

If I cypher it out correctly, in spite of the weight the Roman Foot Soldier toted, todays infantryman still totes more? I may be wrong, 35 kilos and 2.2 lbs to a kilo?

timactual

Today’s infantryman is also several inches taller and has a few pounds more muscle and bone. And no childhood history of malnutrition, vitamin deficiency, pellagra, scurvy, etc.

WOW, what a Tank full load of tanks in that museum. I’m really tank full Ex for that video you showed. After operation Steel Pike in 1964, I bought a Tankard while in Plymouth England. We were berthed right behind HMS Ark Royal.

That museum is privately owned in Englandistan. The owner has the largest collection of armored vehicles in the world. He is independently wealthy and has multiple professionals restoring vehicles. There is a guy in Northern Commiefornia that is likely in number two position.

No ‘tanks’ a lot, happy with my decision to go Naval Air. Thanks, Ex, for another informative video.
