AW1Ed has written previously about USAF Lt. Col. Keithen Washington. Lt. Col. Washington was to face court-martial for charges of assault and sexual assault.
Unfortunately, a mistrial was declared in his court-martial on 16 January 2019. It is unclear whether or not a new court-martial panel will be appointed to hear the case or if this will be the end of the matter.
I say “unfortunately” above because all concerned – e.g., the USAF, Lt. Col. Washington, and his alleged victim – deserve this matter to be settled definitively. As it stands now, there’s no clear resolution to the matter whatsoever.

Yeah, “alleged wife beater” isn’t going away absent a proper trial.
Wife beater and child abuser are two allegations that don’t go away. Sometimes they don’t go away even if you are cleared at trial.
A lot of people hear domestic violence and assume he’s a true wife beater regardless of the reality.
I’ve seen these allegations made dishonestly and ruin someone’s life even in the absence of a conviction. I’ve also seen them made honestly and the jail time was so minimal it was a joke.
Would someone hold the rug while this is swept under it?
Anyone else see a quiet retirement in the colonel’s future?
If guilty or not, as posted above, it needs to be settled. Was falsely accused, charged, arrested, and jailed on a DV charge. Charges finally dropped/exonerated?….The record is still there. Like the innerwebz, that stuff is forever if you dig deep enough.
That being said, yeah looks like sweep under to me too. Not a whole lot of info on that link. Went back to the previous TAH link for Nov ’18 and read up a little more.
Wondering if this AF LTC may be the offspring of a SSG I served with. Looks real similar and the age may be close. Curious.
