If you find a few minutes to watch this video you may begin to understand why many of us believe Beer is so much more than just a breakfast drink.
Something of a local neighborhood legend, the story has often been met with eager but disbelieving nods of approval. To set the record straight earlier this month, Donohue, now 73, self-published “The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A True Story of Friendship Stronger Than War,” a book about his beer-hocking trek across Vietnam. Here’s how he got from a bar in New York to a warzone with beers in hand.
Jonn posted about this a while back but didn’t have the video.

I saw the youtube video years ago and thought it was awesome ….and very cool . This story and the Airborne Beer story are some of my favorites . Worth watching more than once .
Also saw the video awhile ago.
Again; Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Ben Franklin
Been awhile since I last saw this. Thanks for the post Dave. If more people saw this, they may could understand the bond of brotherhood that true Veterans have.

Beer makes one smart. It makes Bud Wiser.
We organized a new political party in Arkansas – the Beer Party. Our slogan is “What Arkansas needs is a good beer party”. Even had some Baptists indicate they approve.
What’s the difference between a Baptist and a Methodist?

Which brings to mind a Brother Dave Gardner joke:
What’s the difference between a Northern Baptist and a Southern Baptist?
A Northern Baptist says there ain’t no hell. The Southern Baptist says the hell there ain’t.
Listening and warching these fellas brings me back to a time and a place and a manner that is disappearing. Those of you who know what I’m talking about know what I’m talking about. Those of you who don’t, don’t–and there’s no explaining it.

Roger that Brother.
Funny that a video of beer in containers was Videoed when one realizes that a lot of other food stuffs and such were sent there and a lot of them arrived intact despite not being in a non perishable container.
Even funnier that you don’t get the point of a beer run video.
Was a lot of unrecorded beer runs over there (most not from stateside) but when one works 12 hour days, no R&R, maybe 4 days off a month and 40 bucks a month to live on for most of a year while also having mortar rounds incoming during the night, Beer some what becomes a lesser priority in life.
But then what does one expect from a draft dodging, McNamara Moron who was a lowly E-3 with a wife, kid and car payments.
The first time I rode in a Huey with my company command group (radio operators, FO, and medic), my medic, “Doc,” is carrying a case of PBR or Hamm’s when he climbs into the bird. I said, “Doc, why are you bringing warm beer to the bush?” His response: “Because warm beer is better that no beer.”
