According to the Tennessean, Steve Cohen’s comment the other day about how he wished that he could award FBI agent Peter Strzok a Purple Heart for the abuse he received from Republicans at a congressional hearing has angered Memphis veterans;
Army veteran Darien Price, who lives in Memphis, said he was “blown away” by what he heard during the televised hearing.
“That’s all I can say without cursing,” Price said in a telephone interview with the USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee.
Price is a Purple Heart recipient. He was injured in 2003 in Afghanistan when he was in a tank that came under enemy fire, he said. Initially denied to be a recipient, Price said Cohen’s office helped him with the congressional investigation that led the award in 2009.
“It was very personal to hear what he said. It was like a big slap in the face,” Price said. “It is disrespectful to those alive who wear the Purple Heart but especially to families who lost loved ones to who fought for this country. Truly saddening.”
Air Force veteran and VA whistleblower Sean Higgins is planning to organize a local protest;
Higgins is organizing an upcoming march in response to Cohen’s remarks and in protest of the hospital’s treatment of veterans. He said he has applied for a permit and that 30 veterans, including Price, so far have committed to joining.
From Fox News;
Retired Staff Sgt. Johnny “Joey” Jones, a Marine Corps veteran who received a Purple Heart after losing both of his legs and suffering other permanent injuries in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Afghanistan, told “Fox & Friends” on Friday that Cohen’s remarks were “disgraceful.”
Following public outcry, Cohen backpedaled on his remarks during a joint hearing Friday.
“I regret mentioning the Purple Heart medal at yesterday’s hearing,” Cohen said. “My intent was to speak metaphorically to make a broader point about attacks against the FBI and Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation into a Russian attack on our country.
“I have nothing but the highest respect for members of the armed forces, especially those who have been awarded Purple Hearts, as well as the hard working men and women at the FBI. We are safe because of their service and sacrifice,” he said.

Too little, too late, dipshit.
“I have nothing but the highest respect for members of the armed forces, especially those who have been awarded Purple Hearts, as well as the hard working men and women at the FBI.”
I hate that second part about the FBI, not merely because it doesn’t belong with the first part, but because Cohen has no idea whether anyone works hard at the FBI. So, it’s a double dose of bullshit in one sentence. Critters gotta crit, I guess.
ex-OS2:
Request you proceed inbound ASAP.
We have a sniveling congressman in the open.
Cleared hot.
Xуесос.
KA-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Спасибо!
Good to have you back in action!
Looks like Donald Duck. Goofy looking turd.
TN just began early voting for the August primary and guess who is up for re-election? Yep. And he has two challengers.
I hope that pus-nuts walking bucket of chickenshit gets booted in the primary election, that would be SWEET!!!
I love the left in America today. They make vile attacks and accusations against anyone not living correctly on the plantation and then whine and cry like a two year old if anyone dares point out that they are full of brown waste products.
The most positive spin that can be placed on his “metaphor” is that it was heartless and insensitive. So was his explanation. Both were just stupid things to say.
This whole mess is despicable, one which so easily could have been avoided. Talk about your self-inflicted wounds. No, you can’t have a Purple Heart for that, Congresscritter Cohen. What you HAVE earned is a “Bless his evil heart.”
OWB: Agree with everything you wrote.
Another case of “Open Mouth, Insert Foot Disease”…🗣
Agree. I don’t think he was intending to disparage wounded or deceased veterans. I think he was just trying to make a joke about the “abuse” he was taking at the hands of the Republicans. That said, he certainly hasn’t handled it with grace or dignity. Only further alienating the veterans.
Democrats have been able to say “I support our troops” and turn around and cut military funding, eviscerate morale, and assist and encourage the sub-standard care of too many VA clinics for far too long. That Cohen is now dropping any pretense of actual support is really just the wolf taking off his sheepskin. Hopefully people are paying attention.
got an email yesterday saying the GI Bill will no longer be allowed to be passed to a family member.
punch in the dick
He’s not a wolf. He’s a coyote, a scavenger, and a jackal, also a scavenger, both of which hang around on the edge and sneak in to get some of the “stuff”.
Oh, it gets better- fucknugget is blaming everyone’s “over-reaction” on the fact “another news Network that’s named for four-legged has been making a big deal about” it
Every time these A-Hole liberals talk a lot of shit and there is a backlash about it, they always try and back pedal saying that they didn’t mean it or it was taken out of context.
You mean just like that smarmy, slimy FBI guy Strzok did the other day when testifying before Congress and was asked about his “We’ll stop it” e-mail?
Ignorant hillbilly is now not a disparaging remark.
Cocksucker.
Is it just me or does this guy have the same looking lips as Al Franken?
He definitely has that same, “don’t leave me alone with your kids” vibe. Beady eyed too.
On the topic of crazy-looking congresscritters, how much does Adam Schiff look like the Heaven’s Gate leader?
I was gonna say Vizzini from Princess Bride works too.
His comment didn’t upset me. I like it – it just reveals yet again what these asshats think of our service members and veterans. I like it when they expose themselves to the masses.
Good point.
Too bad half of the masses don’t care. Case in point, who the hell would ever vote for Hillary with all the information that is out there? This Cohen fuck should be ridiculed but, these clowns will circle the wagons around him. We are truly in trouble when only one network even mentioned this.
One of the guy’s bumbling apologies included this line:
“I said something at the hearings yesterday about Purple Hearts which another network that’s named for a four-legged animal has been making a big deal about.”
So, like usual, it’s not that a leftist actually said something stupid, but that rightists bothered to point it out.
What a douchebag. Exactly the sort of cowardice I would expect from a person whose adult life has been spent entirely as a lawyer and a politician.
Apology not accepted, dipshit. Burn in Hell.
In other words: “Hey, I’m a democrat, I’m the victim here!”
Yeah, instead of saying he messed up he doubles down on the victimhood.
“…another network that’s named for a four-legged animal…”
Hmmm… I did not know that there was a jackass network. Where do I find it?
Any alphabet network will do fine, Ex.
Ha! Thank you!
Amen.
Turd.
“I have nothing but the highest respect for members of the armed services …”
I doubt it. He respects the military to the extent it can further his political aspirations. I’d tell him to eat a bag of dicks but he would take it as a challenge. Fucking asshole.
Too few will hear of this and even fewer will care. The military is kind of like a disconnect in America. People know it’s there but unless someone they know is a member, it doesn’t much concern them. They show up at 4th of July parades and talk on the phone as the flag passes. Veterans Day and Memorial Day are occasions to buy crap on sale.
I would really like to see some type of mandatory service to country, say two years after high school. Doesn’t have to be the military. Something to give kids a sense of ‘ownership’ of the country, to instill pride. Yeah, I know. Ain’t gonna happen but an old man can wish.
I’d love to see compulsory service. I look back on the kid I was before joining and am glad I took the leap. I think some form of service would benefit kids, especially millenials who can’t seem to look past the end of their hands.
I think too many people when it comes to “supporting the armed forces” like to use the six degrees of separation. Claim to know what military service is like because [Grandpa, Dad, brother, uncle, sister, cousin, neighbor] was in the [Korean, Vietnam, Gulf…] War. We don’t let people get away with saying they can diagnose skin cancer because Grandpa was a dermatologist.
As for knowing about military service from family connections, I think it’s funny. I didn’t hear much more than cursory stories about the service from veterans in my life until after I’d joined and completed training. Even then, the stories didn’t really start up until I’d been in a few years or even after ETSing. Gotta be in the club to know the club or speak of the club.
I’d rather go the Heinlein route: Service is voluntary but you aren’t allowed to vote unless you have served. I can see the arguments for compulsory service but the whiners I had to deal with in an all volunteer military were bad enough. Get a bunch of people forced to be there and I would have had a drinking problem very early on.
My draft card was 1-A but I enlisted in 1963 at 17 years old with parents consent. Dad joined before WW2 started. Was dating my Mom at the time and they were in a movie theater Sunday watching a flick and here comes Mom’s Dad telling Dad that the Japs just bombed Pearl Harbor so dad left and went back to his base.
You can spot the little snowflakes from a mile away that never went in the service! They are rude, ill mannered, ignorant of everything especially the history of America….On the other hand, meet a vet and you know it! God Bless’em!
Sept. 11, 2001, is too far in the past to mean anything to the current generation.
Can’t walk that shit back…COCKSUCKER!
It’s termed trying to put the shit back in the horse.
It is unfortunate that people have next to nothing in the way of good manners nowadays.
The flip side of that is that they always find a way to do or say incredibly stupid things, with no thought to the consequences or how the media will display its collective angst over sheer stupidity.
Mr. Cohen is a thoughtless, tactless jerk with a brain the size of a pea. (Yes, I did think twice before I wrote that.) I doubt he’ll ever learn anything at all from this, other than he got caught pants down and now he’s getting flack for it. Tough bananas!
I’m afraid that you’ve over estimated his brain size. He only has one brain cell, and it’s busy taking him over; hence, his speaking as if a retarded ghost possesses him. 🙄
Glad I put down the mugs of ice tea before I read that!
We need a thread in which we can try to list people who wear those goofy round, heavy frame glasses (like this Congresscritter) who are NOT total and complete doofuses (doofi?). Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anyone.
Veterans who are all that offended by his comment can blow it out their ass. Bunch of soft dinks with their emotions on their sleeves.
I should get a Purple Heart for reading about people pissing and moaning in outrage.
Grow a pair.
I did, but you never complimented me on them, Dave Hardin.
And THAT, Ex-PH2, was a GREAT comeback…..😆
👏👏👏👏👏
Why, thank you!
Thought for today:
Shitbird is gender neutral.
Smooches, Big Guy! <3 <3 <3
I felt the same way, but I don’t have a Purple Heart and have both my legs. If they want to hold this dipshit accountable for his bullshit more power to them because it’s personal for them and it’s nice once in awhile to see shitheads get heat.
Dave Hardin is a “sensitive New Age Guy” that drives a Prius

Well, that’s 2-for-2 in the a-hole department for guys named Cohen.
First we have that British “comedian” falsely telling people he’s a disabled vet so he can jerk their chain. Now we have a freaking jerk of a Congressman – from a conservative state – talking out of his 4th point of contact without first engaging whatever he has that passes for a brain.
Basta. Both of ya.
Hey cohen; Make sure your brain can write a check before your ass can cancel it.
What gets me is “I support our troops” is not equal to “I support the Constitution”. Given that “our troops” swear an oath to protect the Constitution (including the Second Amendment), it seems entirely hypocritical to support one and not the other. Their actions reveal their lie. There is no support or respect held by these assholes for “our troops”.
These politicians are an F-ing joke, they disparage the military and veterans when they get a chance, call them on it it and “Oh, it was a joke that went awry” or “My remarks were taken out of context, I have nothing but the utmost respect for our military/veterans, etc”. Jack Nicholson’s character in A few Good Men had it right in his monologue during Tom Cruise’s questioning. Our values and institutions ARE just a punchline for them. We’re a photo op that they seek out when they’re up for re-election so that they can claim they care about us. I’m not buying it anymore, we vote and we need to all turn out and get rid of these shit weasels. People like Cohen make me want to retch, I think the best part of him ran down the crack of his mom’s ass and became a brown stain on the mattress (and unfortunately that is the nicest thing I can say about him and his lineage).
There are some things that should be left out of politics, including the Purple Heart. There are politicians who promote the idea that PTSD is deserving of a Purple Heart, to which I call B.S.
Cohen’s comment shows a deep lack of respect for the military.
If they need volunteers to put a round in Strzok so he qualifies…
A good old-fashioned Irish kneecapping is in order.
*polishing a Shillealagh*
Fuck you Cohen. I hope you get raped by a fucking horny honey badger while using a port-a-john.
Shut your fucking cock-holster, You disrespectful fuckstain. You made your bed, now sleep in it.
And Strzok, you can suck a dick too.
And the hits just keep coming.
