STOLEN VALOR: RANDY VOEPEL … A DISGRACE TO U.S. NAVY AND ALL WHO HONORABLY SERVED IN VIETNAM

I have been reporting on Valor Thief Voepel since last March 29th, Vietnam Veterans Day. His tales of military derring-do are so outrageous, insulting and unbelievable, I traveled to San Diego on April 16th and exposed him (at the stern of the USS MIDWAY Museum) for what he is: a liar; a complete fraud; and a total disgrace to the U.S. Navy. PERIOD.

Some media outlets could not or did not want to do their homework or listen to the evidence at hand. So, we found a real journalist.

Ken Stone of the Times of San Diego will be breaking the expected news about Voepel’s continued false claims and disgusting remarks about what it is like to be in combat. The Stolen Valor community has obtained several devastating videos of the now and future former CA Assemblyman Randy Voepel claiming to have served with Task Force (TF) 117 in Vietnam. He claims to have served on boats as a gunner inserting U.S. Navy SEALs. He did not, he was onboard the USS GURKE (DD-783) at the time of his wild and unbelievable claims.

We immediately provided these videos to Ken Stone of the Times of San Diego who is working on a story that will certainly rock CA politics to the core and finally propel the issue of Stolen Valor to national attention.

The Stolen Valor community is calling on Voepel to resign immediately without any further delay. In addition we are calling on federal and state law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction and the CA Assembly to conduct a full and complete investigation into Voepel’s claims, the denials and misinformation provided by his Chief of Staff, Mason Herron and to ensure the U.S. Stolen Valor Act of 2013, 18 USC 498 and CA Assembly Bill 153 (CA Stolen Valor Act of 2017) is applied as appropriate. Voepel supported CA AB 153, a bill that will likely and finally facilitate his removal from office.

The Stolen Valor community, Veterans and like-minded patriots across our great nation are watching this story as it develops and we wait for law enforcement and leadership in the CA Assembly to take action.

I will be reporting on this story as it continues to develop and will not stop exposing confirmed valor thieves like Voepel and the miscreants he now represents.

  2. As an Iraq vet who ran support missions into some hairy situations over there. I find his comments about how support ppl aren’t in the shit jbullshit. I also find it funny that I saw some bad shit but that was pre CAB days. Never got one and I’m ok with that. You , on the other hand never put boots on the ground and you have the gall to claim a CAR. And want to diss folks who have done more than you. You piece of shit. End of rant

    1. Non, I think you missed the entire point. It’s not about who was “in the shit”. It has nothing to do with who has seen combat and who hasn’t. It just happens to be that nearly 100% of posers can’t help but tell tales of their valor in combat and their time “in hell”. If these fakes lied about serving in a noncombat zone or CONUS for their entire career, it would be all the same. They are still liars who step on the service of much better men and women who served honorably. It just so happens that combat service, awards for valor, and service in special operations units is much more sexy to them and, frankly, to many people who know nothing about the military and eagerly listen to their fake tales of incredible feats, heroic battles, courage in the face of torture and imprisonment, and classified operations. Posers spin these webs of lies because that’s what sells.
      These posers weave tales that steal honor from men and women who exhibited courage and bravery when those virtues cost them blood or their very lives. They have no shame in stepping over the bodies of the fallen to make their sad lives more exciting or earn respect from others. Many of these posers tell stories that flat-out smear the honor of the US military by suggesting we committed horrible crimes, all classified of course (except they can tell you). They have no guilt or remorse in doing this, and will continue to do so until named and shamed. Some continue their lies even after this.
      It has nothing to do with “dissing folks who have done more than you”. It is about upholding the honorable service and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans and our honored dead.

      So just take a breath and relax.

      Voepel was junior sailor on a ship, he claimed to have been a combat hardened warrior. He chastised air and sea support, the very service he was in.

      He is a fraud and a liar, that is what this issue is about.

      It is NOT about your honorable service, it is about Voepel’s lies! You done good Brother!

      Voepel has ZERO personal awards, by all accounts he was a marginally adequate sailor at best on a ship during his claimed time on the Delta inserting SEALs and tasting the blood of his comrades in the back of his throat!

      How disgusting can a Valor Thief get … Voepel just raised the bar pretty damn high … and he is a politician to boot!
