  1. Oh, thank the Waterdogs it isn’t another bout of the spewmonia. I don’t think I’m really prepared for that eventuality. I thought it was something serious.

It’s okay to post recipes, right?

      1. Oh thank you Goddess of the kitchen! You do know why brides always wear white don’t you???

        So they match the appliances!!

    1. Tonight I made chicken noodle soup for Mrs. Graybeard this evening. Least I could do for “sharing” my sinusitis with her.

      1 chicken thigh
      1/3 – 1/2 bag of egg noodles
      1 1/2 qt water
      mixed vegetables to taste
Spices as noted and to taste

dice chicken and put water and chicken in 2 qt pot to cook.
I add about 1/4tsp salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, and dried onion flakes to broth.
Cook at a rolling boil 20-30 minutes
Add egg noodles, cook another 10 minutes
Add vegetables (if desired) cook another 10 minutes.

Serve. It makes us at least 2 evenings of dinner, maybe 3.

      1. Same recipe, but I use leftover chicken, Mrs. Dash, dry chicken broth. Otherwise, same same. Good stuff, too.

        1. You mean that 900-year old waitress with the huge pink wig that’s been working there since Jesus was in the manger?

And if you’ve been there, you know exactly who I’m talking about.

            1. Actually, this one was shorter and thin.

As the saying goes, “She musta been something before electricity!”

      1. Now there’s a mental image I could have done just fine without.

    1. I am not among the privileged in the rumor mill, so it’s fine by me. You know how some people just need to know? I’m not one of those either. Ignorance is bliss so I’m a happy pappy.

  2. Oh no, did someone finally get Jon “Hondo” Shipley’s real records that show he was only a team leader in the Space Marines when he earned his Combat Space Ribbon at Tannhaeuser Gate, and not a squad leader like air has always claimed?

    (And do I really need a /s tag here? I feel like I shouldn’t…)

    1. Geeze. The guy goes on and on and on.
Screw the glass if you’re just going to swish it around and Talk about it.
      Oooh! look at the color.
      Oooh! take in the fragrance.
Hell, uncork it and take good long pull.
Chase it with some Johnny Walker Blue.

    2. TALISKER!

Isle of Skye … 1978 …. local girl …. barn dance at Broadford (or was it Harrapool?) …

      The rest is history.

        1. I also side with Mr. Jameson, and his neighbor down the street, Mr. Guinness! An excellent pairing!

  3. If it is what I think it is, I am offering up prayers for the family.

While I dislike people, I do not wish ill upon most of them.

ISIS, drug dealers, rapists, and child molesters can all die in a fire though. Not a wildfire though, maybe a controlled burn that makes them suffer for hours before they finally perish.

    1. I do some of my best “work” in the dark… or in broad daylight!

      Copy Message, Jonn… will comply

  4. Did anyone watch last night’s episode of Nova?

It was a two hour episode dedicated to black holes and Super Black Holes. Apparently every galaxy in the universe has a Super Black Hole at its center. (That would explain the swirl you see)

It was an extremely fascinating episode….gave me a nerdgasm.

It didn’t hurt that the Scientist hosting the episode was a very attractive lady.

…and yes, I’d hit it, and go back for seconds just to make sure.

    1. Atkron: I’m simply fascinated by such shows. I can’t begin to understand the vastness of space, the hundred of billions of galaxies and (probably) trillions of planets, stars and whatever. I watch and come away more fascinated than before. Me? I need an understanding of ‘stuff’ and I can’t begin to get a handle on our universe.

    2. Atkron, did you see the visualization of the center of the Milky Way from the pov of the superblackhole in the center on the Astronomy Picture of the Day a few days ago? It was kinda cool.

        1. It was beautiful! I especially like that clump that is stretched by the tidal forces of the black hole.

    3. well according to the show, time would all but stop if you were hitting it in on approach to a black hole, then it time would elongate and and possibly go backwards if you actually survived the stretching and compaction of the gravity., so you might actually be going back for 2nd the first time….my head hurts now, where is the jamison….
