  1. Submarine tradition is to have pizza on Saturday nights if underway.

Sometimes excellent, sometimes very iffy (shrimp and broccoli pizza? Seriously?) but always appreciated and a great morale booster when we couldn’t be home.

    1. Ours always seemed to be semi-raw dough with a sauce that tasted like ketchup and topped with cheddar cheese.

      1. Maybe in a future WOT all the boat guys can compare notes on the most effed up food the cooks tried serving underway.

        1. On my last deployment they served overcooked hamburgers with no toppings every 3 days. It took me a couple of years to eat another hamburger after that.

          1. While in the occupation forces in Germany after WWII, my father lost his new TechSgt stripes when he threw a plate of “greasy glop” back in the face of the cook who served it to him.

In his letter home to his mother, he was unrepentant, remarking on how good it was to watch it slide off the cooks face.

Dad had a problem with incompetence and stupidity and didn’t mind letting those who were either know his feelings. Not quite PC, but…

  2. Thank you, Jonn, for sharing.

God bless the CVMA for their never-ending mission of supporting our troops. Salute and Kudos to them and their families.
