Iraq relieves prison overcrowding

Mick sends us a link to Fox News which reports that Iraq executed 38 convicted ISIS and al Qaeda militants by hanging them from their necks at a prison in the southern Iraqi city of Nassiriya;

Iraq’s justice ministry said all of the executed militants were members of ISIS and their appeal options were exhausted. But a government official told AFP that some of the militants belonged to Al Qaeda. One of the terrorists had Swedish citizenship, a prison source told AFP.

“The prison administration executed on Thursday in the presence of Justice Minister Haidar al-Zameli, in Nasiriyah prison, 38 death row prisoners belonging to [Al Qaeda or ISIS] accused of terrorist activities,” Dakhel Kazem, a provincial council senior official, told AFP.

This follows a mass execution that occurred on September 24th when 42 ISIS members went to their reward by the hangman’s hand. To defeat terrorism, you have to be as bloodthirsty as they are.

    1. It is not really a lynching because that requires a mob and implies a lack of due process. But with that said, I say, “hang more and hang ’em high.”

    1. Ah, not since previous admin left.

The conventional wisdom now is to kill them all there, so they come here.

And we have been doing a pretty good job of that recently.

    1. I was actually wondering what the likelihood of ANY appeal in Iraq being in the defendant’s favor would be.

  1. I know it’s not polite to giggle over these things, but – well….

That’s one way to clear the agenda for other activities, isn’t it?

    1. When I read the headline, I guessed the Iraqis had allowed another mass prison break. This was a welcome surprise.

      1. delightfully miss leading title

First thought: there aren’t any Dimmrats in Iraq what’s going on here

Second thought after reading article: GOOD

  2. I am in favor of using the same technique to relieve prison overcrowding here as well. There are hundreds of death row prisoners awaiting their just reward that need to be culled. The average wait for the hangman is over twenty years and that is unconscionable.

  3. For once (just this time), I LIKE something that a muzzie Gubberment does. The best way to clear prison overcrowding without endangering the civilian population.
I say that we carry that particular practice over here to America. I volunteer to be the executioner. You have your death choice of poison, bullet or rope.

  4. No criminal deserves the sweet release of death by another’s hands. That’s why we need to revise the law of the land and all punishments should be “cruel and unusual ” with one time punishments

And victim gets to be part of the punishment process

I will also volunteer my services as punishment consultant. Pro bono of course

  5. And a great weight was lifted from the world. Suddenly, the air was cleaned, birds were chirping, and children playing.

    Good.

  6. The only critique I have is that those bastards were not on their knees with pork chops in their mouths before being beheaded.

    Screw them

    1. Now that would definitely be “haram,” and a “no 72 Helen Thomases, for you!” to each convict.

  7. I bet they were all choked up to see the executioner.

*Thank you, thank you very much; I’ll be here all week. Don’t forget to tip your server.
