Bobo sends us a link to the story of Marine Corps Colonel Kevin Scott who was arrested in Polk County, Florida while he was on Temporary Duty there from his assignment at the joint staff in Virginia. The Marine Corps Times reports that Colonel Kevin Scott, a logistician, was arrested for soliciting for prostitution;

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told reporters on Tuesday that Scott drove a leased car, paid by the government, to the site where he allegedly offered a prostitute $80 for sex, according to The Tampa Bay Times.

“He said he was retired and he was no longer in the Marine Corps. That’s not true,” the newspaper quoted Judd as saying. “We had to call the government and say: ‘Hey would you like to come get your leased car, ’cause your colonel is on the way to the county jail.’ ”

According to the Tampa Bay Times;

Scott, 51, approached an undercover detective shortly after 11:30 p.m. Saturday and asked for sex in return for $80, according to arrest documents, which said he acknowledged using the website Backpage to locate and respond to an advertisement for sex.

He was released Tuesday on $500 bond.

So, that’s another hour added to your safety briefing this weekend.

  16. We had one about 9 years ago in Charleston. Navy Captain, GOV, in uniform, going to a meeting at the Air Force Base around noon. Hooker/cop tries to cut him a break and told him to go away several times but he wouldn’t. Arrested. What a bunch of dipshits for O-6s we seem to have at times.

    I heard when I was in my 20s, sex you pay for is cheaper than sex you get for free. Well, this dumbass colonel is making an argument against that, for sure.

    1. Ain’t that the truth. The former II MEF OpsO, Colonel Wilson, got 5 and a half years and a dismissal for sexual abuse of a child. On the other hand,a Sergeant on the West Coast got 39 years for similar crimes. Clearly a double standard.

    The secret is, if the “hooker” has clean fingernails, it’s a cop. Don’t tell anyone.

      – If she has her teeth,
      – If she has no track marks,
      – Is she has no meth sores, or
      – If she is even remotely attractive,
      she’s probably not a real hooker.

I am sure some ex officer MP’s out there know more articles or exactly what articles he is likely to face. My realistic expectations is this. A letter of reprimand. Full retirement, with benefits. I know reprimand are career killers but not necessarily the case.

  33. Tried to pull this off in Sheriff Grady Judd’s county isn’t smart. He’s famous for snarky comments like this, I knew I’d heard of him when a read that comment in this case. In the Angilo Freeland case he was asked by a reporter why the suspect was shot 68 times (out of 110 shots fired).
    “You have to understand, he had already shot and killed a deputy, he had already shot and killed a K-9 and he shot and injured another deputy. Quite frankly, we weren’t taking any chances. I suspect the only reason 110 rounds was all that was fired was that’s all the ammunition they had.”

      1. Grady Judd is an attention whore that would attend the opening of an envelope if there was even the remote possibility a tv camera, reporter and microphone were there.

  38. The $80 fee is less than daily 0-6 per diem while on TAD.
    So he technically was having the USMC (i.e the US taxpayer) pay for the prostitute’s services. “Lock ’em up, Danno…”
