Gene Raymond Silverstrand; phony special operations

Our partners at Military Phonies share their work with us on this fellow, Gene Raymond Silverstrand who claims that he served in the Marine Corps and the Army “in combat arms and special operations units”;

That same claim was in the local newspaper;

Yeah, no, according to his Marine Corps records, he was a reservist and a Hygiene Equipment Repairman. The Army says that he was in the National Guard and worked various jobs ranging from Supply Specialist to Cook.

There were no special operations units, although he did function at headquarters units in National Guard Infantry units. He did spend a brief time as an infantryman, but it doesn’t seem to have been working for him, because he went back to the messhall.

  1. What is/was a hygiene equipment repairman? Google wasn’t helpful, other than to tell me it is MOS 1173.

    1. Bath, shower and laundry equipment repairman.

      Kinda like being the Hotsy steam cleaner mechanic at All-Pro Rentals.

  2. I’ll grant him that he’s a very “Special Operator” of …kitchen utensils…

    1. Hold it. he’s got to be Navy because that would make him Admiral of the “VESSELS” (def. pots and pans). Not bad for a Monday morning post.

  3. You guys are so dumb.

    Supply Specialist … Cook … Special Operations …

    Stephen Segal …

    Google it and learn.

    LEGIT!

  4. It looks like he did about 3 years in the 134th IN BDE in what appear to be infantry positions, and about 4 months as an Ops Sgt. He also has an 11B school in the FOIA request. My guess is that he completed the 2 week 11B transition course and served as an E4/E5 in the 134th, then moved on to a different job in the QM corps.

  5. So, this fellow is teaching presumably young and impressionable kids martial arts…oh, boy, and how is that going to work out for them when years later, instead of sensibly heading for the bar exit, they decide to touch gloves with some seriously bad-assed dude? Then again, because his military career-inspired unique form of lethal mysticism only requires a spatula or toilet brush as opposed to nunchucks or throwing stars, there’s usually plenty of those to find in a bar

  6. Oh, I get it: he’s the guy who takes out the garbage and unstops the stopped up sinks in the galley.

    Yeah, well, I also cook and he’d better not come near my kitchen.

  7. Ooooooohhhhh, another “martial arts instructor”.
    Probably learned the moves from Lung Fong Kow while he was doing pots & pans in the mess hall.
    Soap suds on, soap suds off!

    Hygiene Equipment Repairman?
    Translation: Disinfected toilets with Tidy Bowl and putting those big pink cakes in urinals.

    Infantryman AND a cook?
    Here’s your sign, dumb ass!! (collar brass)

  8. I really don’t care what he did while he was in. I know I’m sounding like a broken record here. But dammit if you served honorably be proud of your service. I also held three primary and one duty Mos. and even though I’ve supported SF on a few occasions. I’ve told anyone I WAS SF. It’s not that complicated be proud of what you’ve done. And leave the service the way you came in clean SMH

    1. That’s never told anyone I was SF. Don’t want a typo here and get the TAH phony treatment. Lol. Don’t need that kind of love. Lol

      1. What Non Cedo Ferio said. Do your job well and do what is asked of you and be proud.

        This guy? IDK. If my NEC/MOS was a shit burner I might embellish a little bit. Better yet, just STFU. Being a shit burner ain’t gonna get you any chicks.

        1. Don’t laugh. He’s probably working for a sanitation department doing a job few others want to do and making $80K a year

  9. I see this phony is in Wichita Falls, Tx.

    Anyone have any connections to their PD, to give them a heads up on this lying scumbag?

  10. the only record I found for a Free Russian martial arts tournament for June 22-24 1993, in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the annual tournament of the Intl. Martial Arts Club, was in a Variety Magazine Blurb about Sly Stallone: http://variety.com/1993/film/news/russian-fete-for-stallone-107974/ Nothing mentioned here: http://www.wushu.spb.ru/prizers/prizers.htm Anyone with Russian language skills care to dig deeper, to see if there was even a tournament then?
