Good on ya Governor

UPDATE: Go read Matt’s post at Blackfive here, sounds like a REAL GOOD man.

Matt at Blackfive had told me similar things about the new Illinois Governor, Pat Quinn a while back. I like that the first article I read about him states this:

As lieutenant governor, Quinn became a vocal advocate for veterans. He helped start a relief fund for military families, pushed for better health care benefits and made a point of attending funerals for Illinois service members.

I’m all about character in politicians, and have a pretty zero defect mentality towards that, which explains why I loathe the serial philanderer Newt Gingrich. And attending funerals for service members who made the supreme sacrifice might not be the biggest thing to some people, and I understand that, but to me, it’s a sign of what the man truly is all about.

Lets be honest, he could pick his nose on TV and be less of an embarrassment than Blago, and he apparently eschews the Chicago Machine politics. So, crazy lib or not, I hope this guy does well.

  1. I would suggest the readers, and I, seek out his e-address and load him up with kudos. This sort doesn’t come along often, especially from the state where the dead still vote. If I get his e-address, I will write a follow up comment.
    Good fer ya Guv!

  2. I have to say that I like his outlook on Veterans better than any other Politician I’ve seen that’s from that State recently. I applaud him for attending the funerals of his State’s fallen Military. I know from personal experience how difficult it can be sometimes. Maybe he could give the “One” some pointers.

  3. Humph, does the word dick mean anything to you? Just in case you’re too dense:It’s what you are.

  4. I also applaud him for going to the funerals of the fallen. Seems to me that a good leader really tries to show his appreciation for sacrifice. Here’s hoping for the best.
