The truth is that he spent about 2 1/2 years in the Army as a 13 Foxtrot FISTer (Fire Support) not a special forces MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). He had a deployment to Korea, but no trips to the war against terror.
It looks like he had some discipline problems since he left the service as a private (E-1) with an abbreviated career.
It’s not an abbreviated career, the politically correct term is “Participated in the Accelerated Enlistment Program”.
