“In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” is my fav Allmans Bros. tune
For many years his music and lyrics have been a part of my favorites. Just recently a documentary/interview was aired done by coward Dan Rather. In that interview Greg Allman fessed up about what he had done to get out of you g to Vietnam when his lottery number was the first one drawn. He held a party and strategically shot himself in the foot so as to break no bones nor tendons. He then lied at the induction station as to his injury keeping him from walking properly. Watching a coward such as Dan Rather interview another coward and almost relish in their similarities made me sick to my stomach that I had never taken the time to know Allman’s background. Screw ’em both.
One of the best blues voices ever.
I agree, Bill. Same age as me…..but I drink better beer.
Kidding aside….may he rest in peace.
My favorite from the Allman Brothers Band.
One Way Out…
