Feelgood Music from the Dead Guy

Recorded after the man learned he was terminally ill. IMO if this upbeat little tune isn’t Key West’s and the Mardi Gras’ theme song, it should be.

If the guitar work and background vocals sound somewhat familiar, if you’re a Tom Petty fan they should. The background vocals were done by Tom; much of the guitar work was done by Petty’s longtime guitarist from the Heartbreakers, Mike Campbell.

Gone too soon, Warren. We hardly knew ye.

  1. I always liked Warren’s talents and quirky style. “Werewolves of London”, “Lawyers, Guns and Money”, and “Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner” are a few of his better known songs. In 2001 he was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He used his remaining time to record his last album, “The Wind.”

  2. Lawyers Guns and Money….Dad GET ME OUTTA THIS HUAHH! – In my top 20 all time great songs. RIP Z

  3. Talked to him at a post performance meet-and-greet… I toild him I was going to have “Bill Lee” played at my funeral. He said “Short song”, and I said, “Short funeral”. His music was the the song of my life; it’s fitting that most people know nothing about him.
