  1. Obviously this is misdirection to throw the crack team of Hondo investigators who are out there, hard at work, off the trail. Though you have failed to discover Hondo many times before, this time you are close. So do not be deceived, Hondo is likely in a place where there are no beautiful mountains. Somewhere like, I don’t know, perhaps Florida. Yes, I am certain that is it-Hondo is in Florida, so be alert to his nefarious purposes. Despite the fact that, you know, you have no idea who he is.

    1. Good. Let him.

Speaking of which, I was going to Photoshop his face on some gay porn, but he was already there.

Saved me learning how to Photoshop, at least.

      1. That was a joke. There’s a road sign at the right of the pic. It reads, “Pass with Care.” A certain confused posse, long on the hunt for Hondo, would mistake that for a place and use MapQuest to try to locate it.

  2. The picture reminds me of Highway 115 leading from the main gate at Carson south to the federal “Big Max” in Florence.

Nice to hear from you, Hondo. Keep her between the ditches.

    1. I was gonna say, I did a lot of trips between NM/CO/WY during that time frame growing up. Looks a lot like a lot of places I can think of.

Throw in US 89 in SE Idaho, too.

      1. There’s a couple other places I can think of that it reminds me of.

Anyone who’s ever traveled Nevada knows of which I speak.

      2. Well, it could be Kyrzakistan, too. That mountain on the right almost looks like Grozni Peak.

    2. Isn’t this US-95, Northbound out of Winnemucca, NV,approaching the Santa Rosa Mountains? I could swear that I saw a “DO NOT Pass” sign along there, between “Bloody Run Peak” and “Granite Peak”.

  3. Nahh, this is highway 50 the “Loneliest Road in America.” I think I was stopped about here once for going 100 mph. Got written up for 80 mph because the Highway Patrolman did not want to arrest me and wait 5-6 hours for a Tow truck to come confiscate my vehicle. The ticket was $200.00. Or that is the story I tell since he really did not say.

  4. Hondo. There’s a little bar named Smokey’s that’s half way between “No U Turn” and “Bridge Freezes Before Road Surface.” I highly recommend it.

  5. That looks like the section of road where the good guy is driving, and the bad guys are doing their best, professional hit, by chasing him in a helicopter.

  6. road resembles a lot I have seen in NM… albeit ‘way too curvy and hilly in the flat sections. Some of the NM roads in the Permian Basin define flat and straight.

  7. Nah, you’re all wrong. I’ve been there, it’s Saddle Road on the Big Island of Hawaii! De plane boss, de plane!
