    1. 2/17 Air Cav’s very deep rules of order for Open Threads say that, you are indeed First.

      Congratulations!

      1. The rules do not bend, even in exigent circumstances. They are as constant as the sun and the moon. Thus, Sapper 3307 would be first but for one rather important point: this is not the Weekend Open Thread. The rules do not apply to merely Open Threads but only to the once-a-week official Weekend Open Thread. Sapper3307’s first cannot, therefore, be recorded in the Book of Firsts. Sorry.

    1. History really DOES repeat itself!

In the 1860’s, the North invaded the South, my ancestor fought for the South, and the South lost.

In the 1960’s, the North invaded the South, I fought for the South, and the South lost.

      1. My family fought on both sides! must have been dyslectic lol..most ended up dumocraps, but when the dumocraps turned communist, most switched to Republicans..so guess they finally got it right!

    2. Another Happy Birthday, and heartfelt thank you,to Marse Robert.

In the South,it was customary to celebrate “Lee/Jackson Day” with parties, dances, cotilions, soirees and other such festivities.

Then, the federal government, under that rapscallion and otherwise regrettable administration of BJ Clinton, replaced the recognized date with “Martin Luther King Day”.

I have no personal animosity towards Dr. King. However, the means by which his day of recognition were forced upon the nation, at the expense of a great Southern holiday, do upset me. In addition, why just him? If this nation can blend together two of it’s greatest presidents and turn what was once fitting celebrations of them into a general recognition day of the office they held and refer to it as “Presidents Day”, why could they not have a similar holiday and call it “Civil Rights Day”?

But I digress. My best wishes to Jonn for a full and speedy recovery, and may we all have a wonderful Lee/Jackson Day!

        1. Actually, 17 September is Constitution Day.

Bill of Rights Day is 15 December.

And NEVER forget the 19th of April, for in 1775, seventy-seven men and boys, farmers and shopkeepers, stood at the Concord Bridge, where the “shot heard ’round the world” was fired, for the government had sent troops to seize their guns.

The 19th of April is probably the most important patriotic date in American history, yet very few Americans are even aware of it, and only two(?) states observe it as Patriot Day, an official(?) holiday.

  1. Well Jonn bet muchly betters soonish and my dreams have come true.
Mr. Dan Bernath, it seems, has indeed gone and fucked himself nicely.

    1. I’m sure he got to have the opportunity to check out the cockmeat sammiches, ghey whey and tubesteak at the all he will eat jailhouse deli managed by BTJT Enterprises

BTJT = Bubba, Thor, Julio and Mr. “Tiny”

  2. Let this incident be a lesson to all, drinking rum that comes in plastic bottles and smoking cheap cigars is not good for you.

EX-PH2 has been hell bent to change the background of the site to pink with pictures of kittens on it. She also tried to change the Daily Feel Good Story to Daily Gravy Recipes by posting a riveting article called “The Secrets of Roux”.

If you think having her at the Helm is scary, you should see things from this side of the operation. I tried to thank her for stepping up but all she said was, “A friend in need is a pain in the ass”.

I couldn’t find a gender neutral way of expressing her Performance Evaluation so far, so this is the best the Old Gray Mare gets:

  3. I see the outgoing SOB Baracka Hussein oBaMa just commuted the sentence of a Puerto Rican terrorist who was convicted of attempting to overthrow our government. There really are not enough bad things I can say about that un-American, grotesque, repulsive bastard who, until tomorrow, remains president.

    1. Yes, I have some stuff on Mr. Lopez Rivera that goes way back to the FALM’s attempts to overthrow the US government, or whatever it was they were doing.

      1. Good. Post it. It’s part of The One’s great legacy. And don’t forget Morales, the bombmaker who, along with a cop killer, continues to be sheltered in and by Cuba, the tiny POS island nation that oBaMa welcomed back with open arms.

      1. It is getting a delta-delta. That’s the worst possible discharge there is, much worse (and rarer) than the Big Chicken Dinner. It’s basically “You done totally f**ked up, and you’re out of here”!

        1. Its a good thing. Imagine our tax dollars going to work as payments for manning’s hormones, and gender reassignment surgery. letting manning out means that the fedgov won’t have to spend tens of thousands of dollars a YEAR on manning’s gender Odyssey. fiscally a great idea. in prison, you are supposed to pay for your crimes, not to have the prison PAY you for YOUR crimes.

      1. i’m sure there are many rusty, dull and chipped butter knives out there, or barring that, a lid from a campbell’s tomato soup can…. I’m a big fan of vivisection too.

    1. He’s already a pussy. Why does he need surgery to give him another one. His entire being screams ‘pussy’. Fuck him.

  4. Apparently, the word is now out that no Black performers are to go anywhere near Trump’s inaugural celebrations. None other than the latest spokesman for all things Black and American, one Snoop Dogg, has issued the order and supported it with a threat. How can one argue with a grown man who calls himself Snoop Dogg? Really.

  5. And while I’m on Trump, when do the box cars pull up to Union stations? Anyone know?

    1. The failure of black leadership in this country is alarming. Heaven forbid Trump should implement measures to reverse the decades of failure brought about by this leadership. Feel free to dump on me for this, but I feel the leadership, such that it is, would prefer that Trump fail in his efforts to improve the circumstances of all citizens, particularly people of color. There, I said it. He’s not even sworn in and the MSM whores are harping about how he will be a massive failure.

  6. Didn’t want to hijack the excellent thread on our most cantankerous, contentious valor thief, so I’ll post this here:

Welcome back, PSG! It’s great to see you posting again–praying you’ll be well enough to go home very soon.

And thanks again to Ex-PH2, TSO, and Dave Hardin for keeping things running around here.

    1. She is an excellent little actress, but like almost everyone in Hollywierd she is brain damaged and suffering from TDS–Trump Derangement Syndrome. Let’s face it, she needs a gay actor to pretend to romance her.

  7. anyone know this guy: http://testschoolray.weebly.com/about.html claims to have spent 20 years in the army and marines in combat arms, and spec op units. His name is Ray Silverstrand. Claims to have been a h2h instructor. I did not know that was an MOS… of course he also claims
9TH degree Black Belt Goju ryu Karate
    9TH degree Black Belt Jujitsu
    7TH degree Black Belt Judo
    6TH degree Black Belt Aikido
FB page shows interest in 1st Marine Division and 1st MEF. any help would be appreciated.

    1. Well, you can shoot him on over to the people at Military Phony dot com and let them look into his stuff, although I agree it’s suspect that he doesn’t spell ‘Corps’ correctly. But that could just be a tpyo. I mkae tpyos all athe tmei.

  8. Got to give another “SHOUT OUT” to Ex-PH2, TSO, and Dave Hardin for executing “OPERATION CAT WRANGLER” and trying to keep us under control while Jonn is hopefully enjoying long sponge baths, cigars and his favorite adult beverages provided to him by some very pretty nurses!!!

Now, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, put the cattle prods away!!!

    1. We never use cattle prods, Senior Chief. Just catnip and pots of kitty grass, and toys that they can lose under the fridge.

  9. Here’s a question for you Army types – why is it acceptable in the Army to call any E5-E7 “sergeant” rather than by their full rank? That has always puzzled me. In the Corps, that would get you a serious ass-chewing.

    1. @ RADAR:

I spent nine years on active duty in the United States Army, followed by service in the Utah National Guard, followed by service in the Utah State Guard.

During my Basic Combat Training, I was taught by my Drill Sergeant that all sergeants, regardless of rank, are addressed as, “Sergeant”.

First Sergeants and Sergeant Majors are addressed by their complete title, and of course, a Drill Sergeant is addressed as, “Drill Sergeant”.

I reckon it’s a tradition of the Service.

I wish I could answer your question, but I reckon it’s just one more of those differences between the way things are done in the United States Marine Corps, and the way things are done in the United States Army.

      1. We didn’t use the full and proper titles because our attention spans and memories are too short.

    2. IMO:Informal Titles.

Same reason why Warrant Officers are called Chief…or 1SGTs called Top..or Lieutenants called L-T.

      ?

      1. Forgot to add: E1-E3 are normally called Private; when there were Specialist Ranks (SP3-4-5-6-7), they were addressed as Specialists and normally CSMs are addressed as SGT Majors.

At least that is how I remembered.

      2. Only CWO2-CWO5 would be called Chief although most of the one’s I knew would remind you that they “ain’t no fuckin Indian.”

        WO1 is “Spot”.

  10. Know what Trump is doing today? Visiting Arlington. For a man who tomorrow will be our military’s Commander in Chief, I can think of no better thing for him to do. It’s a sacred and sobering place. I have no doubt that he will think of it when he is faced with a decision that keeps our people in harm’s way or puts them there.

    1. ‘I have no doubt that he will think of it when he is faced with a decision that keeps our people in harm’s way or puts them there.’

Roger that. And if he ever forgets, General Mattis will be right there to remind him.

    2. Yep. I tried to remember if other incoming presidents have done that. Sounds like a great place to start a term. Kinda choked me up a bit when his trip there was announced.

    1. I was wondering why the double murderer had his sentence commuted. His crimes were heinous and he attempted a third taxi driver murder in 1988, but his victim survived. The two he robbed and killed were both fellow soldiers. I found pictures of Loving online and they confirmed my suspicion of 0’s rationale.

  11. Someone just sent me this info and asked if I knew about it (which I did not).

FYI (and it is a bit old) if anyone is interested:

Remember this guy, Ronnie Seaton, Phony Chef. Phony POW with Purple Heart from LA?

    https://www.azuse.cloud/?p=63107

He passed away in August 2016. He was only 61. No mention of his military service or even being a Chef in the White House in his obit.

    http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/theneworleansadvocate/obituary.aspx?page=lifestory&pid=181233443

    http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/ronnie-seaton-obituary?pid=1000000181232767&page=2

    Interesting.

    1. Since he died last August at 61, my math says he would have to have been 15 or 16 years old when he claimed to have been a POW in Vietnam and awarded a Purple Heart. But hey, our “fake news” mainstream media prolly loved his stories about W smoking weed and drinking copiously in the White House. It wouldn’t surprise me if MSNBC financed the publication of his tell-all book about his experiences as White House fake chef for 32 years.

  12. “Next….Chelsea Manning?”

    “Yes.”

“Just a few questions, Chelsea. Why do you want to work here and what qualifications do you have that will help this company?”

“Well, ever since I was released from Leavenworth, people expect me to pay for everything. I’m not used to that. So, I need to earn some money. Qualifications? I have computer experience. Oh, and I suck a mean dick.”

  13. The Casa OWB celebration has started. The United States Army Band playing “Stars and Stripes Forever” at the Lincoln Memorial is about as good as it gets.

The crowd is hopping. The artists are superb, each with a very positive message. Too bad the special snowflakes probably missed Toby Keith thanking Obama for his service then welcoming a most gracious Trump. Looks like all the acts are showing a bunch of class.

    Outstanding! What a beautiful sight.

    1. ?

Watching it now as I write and caught what Toby Keith said when acknowledging Service Members to include BHO.

      Still love “American Soldier”.

    1. My soon to be former C-in-C (State) and soon to be C-in-C (Federal)…showing proper respect to our fallen brothers and sisters. As it should be.

  14. Our presidents, great and small in terms of character, are, of course, human. Thus, I have to wonder what it must be like to say to oneself, “Holy shit! I’m the President of the United States of America!” Some things I’ll never know, and that’s one of them.

    1. Meanwhile, MSNBC is heart-broken. As their reporter circled the crowd at the celebration today, they were greeted with chants of “NBC sucks” and “CNN sucks”.
Their reporter, one Cal Perry(who?) seemed out of sorts, saying “This is certainly a divided nation and this idea that the Trump supporters have seems to be that, if you are not with Trump, you are dead-set against him. There doesn’t seem to be a middle ground.” You have to admire the man’s grasp of the obvious.

      1. “You have to admire the man’s grasp of the obvious.” Truly. As an aside, I see the comments from those who watch the leftard newsies and I have to wonder why. Is it morbid curiosity or is it there is not enough else in the world to get pissed off about?

  15. Oh, and let me claim a pre-emptive FIRST!!!!!
Perdona mi Buen Amigo, es que yo llegue PRIMERO!

      1. Yeah, he’s got a couch…but I dropped a deuce on it so it’s not inhabitable! You gotta twist with it…do like this with it…Fuck yo couch…

  16. So someone told me that as a person of Hispanic descent, I shouldn’t have voted for Trump…I remember that I was for Reagan back in ’80. When I was 7 years old and I saw Ronaldus Magnus get sworn in and seeing the Peanut Farmer get sent packing, my classmates said “You made the President cry!” I remember that I said “He’s not the President anymore!” I’m feeling the same today…looking forward to the future.
